Yea for the 4.7's you either have a good one or you don't lol. Mine was one of the most reliable trucks I ever had, never left my stranded! I did take care of it and changed it's oil religiously too
That's interesting, my 5.2 sounded ass with a glass pack, that sounds pretty good. Looking at a 3.9 2WD as a project, might have to keep looking for a 4.7 now
I get that haha. you wanting true duals? or just a yd off dual set up? cause they make glasspacks with a y pipe welded on it or, you could run a cherry bomb extreme those are cheap and should give that truck a nice deep sound that shouldn't break the bank I don't think
Ethan Copple probably just y-pipe duals so I don't have to buy separate cats to pass smog lol. I have an extreme on my 5.2 Durango and I do love them, the glass pack I just had laying around haha
Did you install new headers? Or seriously simply the cherry bomb? My 02 4.7 is literally stock exhaust and it's so quiet it's obnoxious. The damn clutch fan (soon to be removed) is louder than the exhaust.
What size glasspack did you put on or glasspack number? i have the same truck but an extended cab and would like to also put a glasspack on mine. Also did you put any adapters or extra piping in to make the pack fit?
Well when I got the truck it didn't have the over axle section, so I added all that with piping i had myself. The 12 inch cherry bomb was on the truck when i bought it
I’ve had absolutely no problems with my 4.7. I’ve driven back and forth from PA to NC and gotten almost 18mpgs lol. I’ve put on 30k miles in the last year or so and issue free as far as drivetrain is concerned. Just if your looking at one with more than 100k, ask if the timing chain/guides have been replaced
@@Z3CHYD I know what you mean I just bought an 01 4.7 Dakota for 1500.00 and I haven't had to do a thing to it and I Live in WV and rarely even have to use 4x4 in the snow. I guess because it has positive track. These trucks are monsters I love them
@@jasonbailes3421 yea they are awesome, just have to watch out for rust because dodge lol. I sold mine because it was getting expensive to drive, but I do miss it in the snow. With new tires it was a tank!
Then I'd do similar to how I had it setup in this video, full 2.5 inch into dual exhaust no mufflers, just stock cat, was rowdy th-cam.com/video/p87EpuXECh4/w-d-xo.html
Never had stock exhaust on it when I bought it, so honestly I'm not sure. It was loud enough to be heard, but at the same time I could quietly drive past cops lol
She sounds really good brother
Thanks I'll be redoing the durango's exhaust this week as well, since the first time I did it the pipes leaked. Stay tuned :)
I have a 04 Dodge Ram with a single cherry bomb glass packs. Sounds good. I'm going duals in a few days.
Man my 4.7 was nothing but issues. Was probably due to the previous owner. Had 2 318s and the current one is a killer truck. Love the 2nd gens

the v8 Dakota with an exhaust sounds so good.
Sounds great! I actually just got home from buying one of these, looks exactly like yours but red. I want to do this!
Oh thats what an engine should sound like💚

2:10 ooooh man... that’s what I like too hear
Yea I loved the sound of this truck! I miss that part the most lol
sounds nice and smooth really sounds good if you was to run duals it'd be very throaty and loud sounds great the way you have it now
Ethan Copple id like to run duals but it's not in the budget quite yet lol

still sounds great though good vid an not red lined as soon as you start looking forward to hearing both truck one day
Ethan Copple yup like I said in video I don't overrev a cold motor good to know I'm not the only one 👍🏻
Did you install new headers? Or seriously simply the cherry bomb? My 02 4.7 is literally stock exhaust and it's so quiet it's obnoxious. The damn clutch fan (soon to be removed) is louder than the exhaust.
Yep it was all stock cats and a shorty glasspack
What size glasspack did you put on or glasspack number? i have the same truck but an extended cab and would like to also put a glasspack on mine. Also did you put any adapters or extra piping in to make the pack fit?
Just a 12 inch glass pack, and some spare 2.5inch piping I had laying around, no adapters, just slid piping on and welded it up!
@@Z3CHYD sweet that helps a lot found one at the local autozone today! thx.
Did you cut off the original and then put on the cherry bomb did you have to add any extra piping
Well when I got the truck it didn't have the over axle section, so I added all that with piping i had myself. The 12 inch cherry bomb was on the truck when i bought it
Z3CHYD do you know if it’s a m-80 or if it’s a glasspack
@@dakshue4772 it's a glasspack
Is the 4.7 a V-8?
Yes it is
Small v8 equal to 5.2 liter 318
This was the 4.7l V8. I had a 5.2l Durango too though.
Music too my ears
what size rear blocks do you have?
None, rear was stock
I’m glad there’s no emission laws where I live so mine is gonna be no cats no mufflers no anything
I have a video after this one where I had dual exhaust no mufflers, still had cats but sounded awesome
Did you remove the cat?
nope just the muffler
Hows the truck treat ya im lookin at a 4.7

Does your dakota have spacers?if so what type and how many inches?
It did. 1.5 inch hub centric
@@Z3CHYD thank you, would like some for my 02 Durango
What size tires you running? I have a 00’ sport with 275/60r15 tires
Alexander Estk 265/70r16, Just stock size tires
Loud pipes saves lives
Is it as loud as the straight pipe setup you had? How does it sound incab
Rodlover it has about the same loudness but less crackle when I let off the gas. Inside theres absolutely no drone I love it
Z3CHYD thanks for responding to my comment so fast, this really helps! Also do you worry about the exhaust being to loud and you gettin a ticket?
Rodlover Nope, it's got a decent amount of sound to it but not as loud as some trucks I've heard around, no worries with the cops for me lol
Whats the size adapter for the cherrybombs
NoriGaming no adapter the pipe was 2.5 inch
Z3CHYD so you just put the cherry bomb on ? No need for adapter pipes or anything???
Nope, no adapters in my case. Factory piping was 2.5 inch O.D. and the cherry bomb was 2.5 inch I.D. so it slide right on
How much is the truck lifted?
stefx23 the front tbars were turned a few turns to make it like 2 inch in front and rear is stock
Do you have spacers¿
+victor martines Yes in that video I had 1.5 inch hub centric spacers on and removed the fender flares
Pa truck?
Sloth yep it was. Guy I sold it to fixed up the bodywork and bedlined the whole truck
Is that a fire extinguisher? Lol
You mean my red welder? Lol
@@Z3CHYD yea idk, just got a 2000 set 4x4 Dakota myself. Any advice?
ANYONE KNOW THE SIZE?
Full 2.5 inch exhaust

How loud compared to stock exhaust is it. Is it crazy loud? Or just enough to hear the engine?

Barely sol it
I don't know what your trying to say?
What size lift do you have and what size tires you running ?
It was just cranked torsion bars, maybe 2 inches and stock size tires, general grabber at2's. I had 2 inch wheel spacers on at one point too
