@4Dan21 for sure brother, snow here gained few hundred lbs more since it warmed up. ,your tracked tractor will bull doze deep powder effortlessly,,, I'll keep struggling and carry on lol. Enjoy Dan 👍
My dad had an old Ford 8N with a set of half tracks like that. He built a set of skis that cradled the front tires. They were about 3.5 feet long and 10 inches wide. That thing could go over the snow just like one of those snow cats that the rural electric companies had. And he had a Dearborn loader on it. It had a gravity dump bucket. After he dumped the bucket he would have to drop the loader down while backing up, then the bucket would roll back into a spring loaded latch and be ready to go for the next bucket full of corn silage to dump. He fed a couple hundred head of cattle with that thing for two winters. Then he moved up to an M International with a wide front and a 525 Dual loader. That little Ford was quite the outfit.
Oh ya! You still see the odd trip bucket system every now and then but mostly they have been converted to hydraulic with a cylinder added to the bucket but at one time that was a top of the line machine 😊
G day from Ontario Boy nothing like having gas tractor in cold weather for starting Many yrs ago comig home from high school a ford 8n was out in field with half tracks Ths good luck
Maybe you should have thought about getting the snow removal equipment ready BEFORE it snowed !! Nothing like working in the cold !Just leave it , some day the snow will move for you !
Why you gotta be so negative man some people actually like the older equipment unlike you plus i prefer pre def diesel engines ant this guy obviously has pre def diesel’s
