Got this for good price, my Garmin 810 has been reliable but getting old. The BSC300 easy enough to use with good quick start guide, mobile app and website, it does what I need. It drains battery slowly in use and recharges quickly. Why pay more?
Review after 6 months : can not be connected to computer tried on different computers and many usb cables, the speed is off about 2k/h both with and without speed sensor, very good battery life, hard to navigate, sometimes does not show the route names correctly
That's odd, I haven't had any issues with the computer. I'd recommend doing a factory reset and then updating the firmware to the latest using the blue tooth App to make sure you have the most stable software.
@@TheSweetCyclists Thank you for reply I am not the only one who has the connection problem. Rested many times used updated still cannot connect to the computer for maps, e-mailed the manufacturer no answer. I am convinced to back to Garmin it's more expensive but no such a problem.
@@bobakq Sorry to hear that. Hopefully someone from iGPSPORT can get back to you. Otherwise there are other more affordable computer brands like Bryton that should be a good alternative.
Can I make the numbers bigger ? At least the MPH AND CADENCE, or choose two or three items on one screen page so they look bigger. ? Or they will always show the same size ? I am struggling seeing the numbers through my sunglasses. Maybe black and white big numbers with only MPH , CADENCE , distance , time .
You can adjust the layouts to have less items on the screen and make the font size slightly larger (see 10:09). Also you can switch the display to be night mode all the time (white on black) to help contrast. However, the BSC300 is fairly small so I'd probably recommend a larger computer like the IGS630 which has better readability.
I have the BSC300 and a friend has the 630. Despite doing spreadsheet training on mine, only when I went to do it with my friend, I realized that the 630 at the end of the training gives an evaluation of the training, I didn't find such a feature on mine. Question, at the end of a spreadsheet training, does the BSC300 really not show the training evaluation?
Do you recommend using a certain settings for the GPS setting? There's 5 options that seem to combine a few different GPSs. Thanks and great review. I'm loving mine so far, my miles seem to be short on some of my rides but I just changed it so it won't autopause anymore and will make sure the GPS signal is connected before I start my rides for now on.
Here in the US, I've never had to modify the defaults for the GPS settings on this or any other computers. Are you seeing any GPS cutouts during your rides (i.e. tunnels / tall buildings / dense forests)? If so, you might want to add a speed sensor which would give you a more accurate distance and speed as it would use a front wheel + wheel circumference instead of GPS for speed and distance.
@TheSweetCyclists ok, interesting. I already have the speed and cadence sensors which is odd. Next time I'll wait to make sure I have GPS signal before I start the ride and I've turned off autopause to see if that will help. It does it way too much on my rides because I ride steep and technical terrain. Also strange because when I go into the GPS after these rides where my miles were short, I go into Navigation and activities to navigete my past routes, the correct mileage is there, but not my recording. . . SMH.
That's a bit strange. If you are already using a speed sensor with the correct wheel circumference input, then the distance and mileage should be based on the sensor and not GPS. The only thing GPS would add is the map overlays.@@2Philthy
I just bought this unit and the navigation fails to show road detail as in your video. All i see is a green line and black arrows on a white background. Any idea what i need to do to see more detailed mapping? Thank you.
It sounds like you might not have maps loaded on the device. You can download maps for you region from their website - global.igpsport.com/map/mapinfo?devicename=BSC300#
I tested this before the software update that enabled the radar. With most iGPSPORT computers it's just an overlay on the right-hand side with no customization option (unlike some computers that let you switch display sides).
Thanks for the hands-on look. Do any of your computers allow me to look at total 'time in zone' if using a power meter? For example, if I want to get 30 minutes spent at a certain power zone for a session, do any of them show that? Currently on a Garmin 500 which doesn't have that feature but would love it. Alternatively, do any of these have any sort of warning feature if you stray outside of your target power zone? That would also be handy so I don't have to stare at the numbers when on the road. Some of these cheap units seem to show workouts ( 11:00 ?) but I can never find out any info on what these modes do.
I haven't seen that before on the live display screens. Typically most post-workout pages will show time in each zone based on the entire activity. You can display the active zone which can help you stay on track.
Great review so i have the device. Can not get maps to show on nav. All i get is blank screen with a green line and arrows. No rivers, streets etc. I tried everything including download local maps from igp web site and saving in map file but still no background map image. Please help

I have contacted IGP and they cant help and offered a code to close my App account and return the unit to Amazon. Ordering a Bryton 750 SE hopefully its better.
As of the latest software, the iClimb feature is still not supported. I'm guessing iGPSPORT will keep the climbing feature for their 600 or higher GPS computers.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like iGPSPORT has improved the navigation algorithm yet. I'm still seeing the same issue on the latest iGPSPORT iGS800 along with the false turns (any hairpin or sharp corner is a counted as a turn).
You would have to check with your specific watch to see if there is compatibility. Most of the bike sensors (speed / heart rate / cadence) have Bluetooth and Ant+ so you should be able to connect them to other devices besides a GPS computer.
You can upload multiple routes to the GPS computer's memory and access them later. You'll need to use the app to upload the routes to the device, but after they are loaded you should be able to start navigation for that route. I don't think the BSC300 supports navigation re-routing without having the phone connected though (that is usually only available in higher-end computers), so it will revert to simple arrows to get you onto the pre-loaded route.
No, this is not a like a cell phone where you can swap apps. The navigation on this GPS and all bike computers use their own software. Higher-end computers do have voice command features or off-line re-routing but something like the BSC300 requires using the iGPSPORT app to setup routes and upload them to the computer.
Yes, it does work with the Garmin Varia or any rear radar system. iGPSPORT has updated the software to support radars so it should all work out of the box.

Yes, you can connect just about any sensor to it including power / heart rate and track them with your rides. For accurate calories you just need to input your weight / height information into the iGPSPORT app.
If you upload a route for a ride but then go off-track, does the BSC300 record the new route? I mean: at the end of the ride, when you download in the app or in Strava the data about ride, does it give you also the track of where you actually went?
All GPS computers always track where you've actually gone - the selected route is only used for navigation purposes. It isn't part of the exported data.
