To sum up, Tik-Tok does what all other social media does, but it's too efficient doing so and that's a problem. Now if you were to live outside US, every other ( as described in this clip) money driven and morally challenged mainly American platform starts to look exactly the same as Tik-Tok and has same effect as Tik-Tok, American values simply aren't universal as aren't Chinese for third countries. Banning Tik-Tok (or making the money/control run through third parties) should mean that all other platforms (Google, Meta, Apple etc) are going to see the same happening to them outside US soil.

Absolutely I agree that Tiktok should be banned in America and people under the age of 18 should not have free access to social media or rather, they should have the watered down version of social media like the one in China where their version of Tiktok is actually showing the youths about educational videos. There is simply no reason as to why under 18 should have access to social media and further deteriorating their mental health because of it.

The fact is that TikTok is owned by CCP is the problem. It’s owned by Chinese that’s the root of the problem. It’s regardless the contents they provide. CCP whose sole purpose with the West is to bring down this world order will NEVER have an interest of America but have an interest to destroy the democracy and the free world. That’s the problem. We can never ever trust China. That’s the issue here. Nothing else can be done but ban it right out. Only America is digging a hole for itself based on greed. That greed is why where we are in this sorry state. Trusting Russia and China is why we have this mess.

It's not only about data collection, TikTok can affect the mood of its users. Social Media apps are responsible for the dramatic decline in mental health especially among teenage girls, there is a direct correlation between hours spent using social media apps and depression. Tiktok can influence mental health in more nefarious ways by presenting content that can make mental health worse or make young people even less patriotic, less trusting of authority, their governments, spread FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) which the other social media are already doing for mercantile reasons.

I am thinking: When Gov Employees/military men uses TikTok -> TikTok understands their vulnerabilities, if any, like what kind of content they watch , track movement of specific targets , they can sense the importance of meeting when they see gathering of many people of interest at one place -> then, other CCP agencies uses honeypot / bribe / threaten to extract sensitive data based on gov employee weakness.

The problem is CCP would never honor whatever 'deal' with US government even if there's going to be one. TikTok would say something on paper and do it totally opposite. This has been the norm of how CCP state-owned industry/companies operate on the international level in the past decades. He's right to ask that why would TikTok change... if TikTok knows they can get away with breaking the law.

You're also forgetting/ignoring other countries by just citing the US, the UK and the EU. China isn't just trying to reach those regions. They are trying to reach everyone...in Africa, America, Asia, Oceania...everyone. Every country where they might need a UN vote or a military base or a mine. Africa, for example, is a continent with over 1 billion people, and the highest ratio of young people to adults in the world. Of those 1 billion, over 40 percent have internet coverage, which is just slightly below the global average. Most people that I know in my age group here in Africa have a tik tok account. China knows that the western countries largely ignore most African countries. So they'll continue to target and cultivate opinions against the west in these regions, for as long as the west is only concerned about, Washington, London, Berlin and Paris
