    Do you prefer the Historic Wing or Tower Wing for those that have stayed here? The views from the tower wing just cant be beat but I did enjoy the feel of the room in the historic wing better.

      We just recently stayed in one of the historic Banyan room on the 3rd floor directly over the portico. In fact, when you're looking at the entrance portico, we were in the room with the blinds closed.
      Nice room, needed a ceiling fan! Shower would flood half the bathroom each time, we had to make a towel barricade on the floor.
      The water is a dangerzone of rocks and coral.

      @@FatGuyInaTruck Yikes! I hope you got some points or some sort of compensation for your troubles. I do prefer the historic room though, those that don't flood :)

    We have been going to this hotel for over 25 years at least once a year mostly 3 or 4 times. The staff is like family and treat everyone with Aloha.

      Thank you! @mikehodges I just stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and should have that video up by end of the month. I think you will really like the Moana Surfrider if you stay there. Keep me posted.

    This was an absolutely stunning review great footage. I stayed there in 1991 and was blown away by its historic atmosphere and look, just one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. I am staying at the hotel with my family for my 60th Birthday in early November, I cannot wait to get there and your review has made me even more excited. Thank you for sharing this sensational hotel with me.

      @@waynehearst317 I did stay in the tower and the balcony door did open for me. It was not a suite just a regular two queen room. Listening to the ocean is one of the great things about staying here.

      @@suitesandlobbies the tower "suites" have a large balcony facing the ocean and Diamond Head. This is the primary feature of the room; however, due to "structural issues" they are all locked and inaccessible. Just dont want anyone to plan a large trip to be heart broken.

    I so envy people who can afford to stay here, this is the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. In the past, when I stayed in Waikiki, I would always walk thru the lobby area, sit outside for a while near the Banyon tree, soak up the beauty of this hotel. Another one I always walk thru is the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, a calm oasis in the chaos that is Waikiki.

    • @suitesandlobbies
      @suitesandlobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true about being a calm oasis in Waikiki, I love walking through the gardens of Royal Hawaiian and sitting in the rocking chairs of the Moana, even if just passing by.

    And I swear there was a wedding photoshoot wvery 15 minutes on those stairs or out newr the tree, or in front of the portico. And almost all of them were of Asian descent, absolutely stunning brides.

      Japan is opening back up , Hawaiian just added another direct flight, I have a feeling the Asian market is going to come back in full force very soon.

    Hello! Thank you for sharing this video! This is honestly the best view I’ve seen of Diamondhead and the beach! I would love to stay there but it is quite expensive :( do you know a cheaper hotel that could provide a really similar view as the one shown from your room in the video? Thank you!

      Check out the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, you will need to insure your room faces Diamond Head, Also the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort has some options in the front tower that might work.

      That does not sound right at all. This is one of the top Marriott properties on O'ahu, I would speak with them directly on this if from a credible source.

      I too was in a tower room about two weeks ago. I'd wake up at 6:00, ( too excited to sleep I guess, lol). I'd stand on the balcony and enjoy the gorgeous breeze and watch the surfers who amazingly were already out in the water. This video captures the feel and ambience of the Surfrider perfectly, good job!

    Perhaps I'm a stickler for details, but if I'm spending $100's per night at a prime location, at least offer me 100% Kona coffee. I will pay for it. At 10% minimum requirement to be called "Kona Blend," it doesn't seem worth it.

    • @suitesandlobbies
      @suitesandlobbies  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, 100%. Paying extra for 10% is just a pass. If you can try some coffee from the Ka'u district on the Big Island, award winning and starting to make a name for itself.
