    probably one of my favourite recipe videos you've made. I'm craving tapas right now!

  • @peterdabski5597
    @peterdabski5597 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    I'd love to try all of these recipes. The problem is though, I don't have enough money for the fancy ingredients and definitely don't have enough for the equipment i.e. blenders or those dough stirrer thingys. So i think it would be a great video if you guys made "5 amazing dishes you can cook for under £5".

    • @bcaye
      @bcaye 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      peter dabski, you know electricity has only existed for about 150 years while tapas have existed for centuries. The only 'fancy' ingredients here are the spices-they do cost but buy them one at a time and then you have them for awhile. As for mixing dough or chopping things, build up your arm muscles! I don't have those things and I can manage even though I'm an old woman.

    • @fredelmo
      @fredelmo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bcaye Thank you. There is nothing that a food processor can do that we cannot do by ourselves. It might take more time, but so what? 'Fancy equipment' is mostly about saving time, not about otherwise impossible techniques. So don't be lazy, just work it and you will be perfectly fine on a low budget.
      Also tomatoes and bread are not 'fancy ingredients' 😲. Far from it! They are the most basic cheap things you can get. Tapas are not meant to be expensive, they were meant to be the cheapest 'lid' to a drink you can get.

    • @louie5339
      @louie5339 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Food processors aren't that expensive. It all depends. You can get a cheap one on amazon or a thrift shop. Also, you can substitute ingredients to suit your budget.

    I'm from Spain and I'm very pleased with this video! The stuffed piquillo peppers is an awesome idea, my mom stuffs them with a bechamel sauce with shrimp on it, and serves them warm with sofrito. It's delicious :)
    I'm gonna try this stuffing!

    when I was in Barcelona I had all these things (except the chicken, I'm vegetarian) I loved the peppers but not the stuff inside them and the Spanish KNOW how to grow tomatoes!! I don't really eat bread when I'm in the UK but no meal in Spain is complete without pan de tomat :) The best thing I had there, though, was the most simple - PATATAS BRAVAS!!!!! :D

    I love to take chorizo (either sliced or diced) and stew it in either red wine (spanish origin, obviously) or cider, letting the juices reduce down all the way into an intensly flavoured sauce. Also can't go wrong with patatas bravas and alioli- diced potatoes parboiled then fried off until crisp, tossed in spicy tomato sauce with garlic mayo.
