    I have the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and I got the Tech 21 Evo Max for it. Drop protection is big for me. Clip is nice. I had to have sliding door protection for the cameras. There were other brands with that but the buttons weren't properly aligned (sometimes having the opposite effect of what they were supposed to do) and seemed stiff. I didn't have that problem at all with this case. I don't seem to have a kick stand feature but that's OK.
    Correction! There is a kickstand feature - the belt clip has a dual role. Then of course you can twist it so the phone is standing up on its side.
    Getting the phone out of the holster? One easy way would be to begin by pushing up from the bottom center of the phone. This way when you grab it at the top it will be easier to avoid the responsive buttons, but you might want to have your hand over the top when you push up if some times you might be using a little more force than you intended. Otherwise you might end up inadvertently testing that drop protection. One hand is enough for me this way. No doubt there are other ways, so figure out what works best for you.
    I like being able to put the phone in screen in or out. Screen in is best if you want more protection while it is on your person which might make sense if your occupation requires more rugged protection. Appropriately the fit is then a little more snug.
    Anyway, much of what you said about the version for the iPhone 13 Pro applies to my S22 Ultra, and hopefully some of what I said will apply to yours.
    Thank you for the insights.

    The case allows magsafe to hold on lightly. It's not truly magsafe compatible. It's a tough case. I'd like to see some sort of material inside the case to protect the back of the phone. Over all, a decent case. Nillkin makes a similar case called the camshield or some such.

    • @DenyTheZeitgeist
      @DenyTheZeitgeist 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s vaguely MagSafe. It also makes regular qi chargers difficult to use. Luckily, here a year later, they have new MagSafe cases that actually have the MagSafe compatible ring built in.

    How the case been holding up so far protection wise? Any functionality problems with the camera lens cover (other than it not snapping locked in place)? I saw where you mentioned that it closes but does not snap like it did brand new.

    • @MalcolmWalker
      @MalcolmWalker  ปีที่แล้ว

      So far the case has been great. I don’t like how sensitive the red buttons are. The lens cover gets dirty and can be hard to clean. The latch has weakened but still functions if that makes sense. Phone protection has not been an issue at all. Several drops and it still good as new. The size is good and the camera cover frame makes for an easy grip sometimes. Ultimately I would only recommend if camera protection is a top priority, otherwise I think I would try something else.

    I see that the camera cover has two layers. Does the lower layer scratch the lenses when you move the camera cover to close it? Is there a gap between the top of the camera lenses to the bottom layer of the camera cover?

    • @MalcolmWalker
      @MalcolmWalker  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While it seems close I have never noticed an issue with it touching the lenses. My lenses have no marks at all on them and I am still using this case. My one complaint at this time is the tension latch that holds the covers shut has become almost non existent. It still shuts and stays shut but doesn’t “lock” into place like it did new.
      So far it’s had several bad drops with no damage to the phone. It’s a good case. I found the only mag safe thing that fits it properly is the apple charger. Every other brand accessory I have tried to fit doesn’t fit between the ridges of on the back of the case. While I think it could be easily trimmed it’s holding force isn’t as good because it’s not connected as closely. But it charges fine without issues.

    Purchased the same type of case without the holster from Amazon at a price of $15.99.
    I put one of those small metal plates in the back because I have a magnetic mount in my vehicle, the wireless charging obviously does not work unless I take it out of the case.
    The mounting process is more important to me than the wireless charger.

      I agree. After a full day’s research, I’m confident Tech 21 is best, and the Evo Max’s lens cover and wrist strap cinched my selection. I’ve purchased the Evo max (white/orange) for my 15 Pro Max, both arriving shortly. Now, I need to protect the screen, while I’m not so sure about the lenses.
      Only, the Tech 21 screen protectors aren’t tempered glass and don’t have a good tactile feel? But which brand of protectors is best and which are compatible with the case?
      Help!
      Linda
      And the lens covers differ…. I’ve read some interfere with picture quality? It’s a dilemma to know which are good and if it (they) will work with the cases’ sliding lens cover.

    • @MalcolmWalker
      @MalcolmWalker  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am overall very satisfied with the durability of the camera lenses. Both mine and my wife’s 13 pros have no damage after almost two years of use. The phone case has held up great over the two years as well. While I plan on replacing it soon, it has handled ever situation very well. My port cover finally fell
      Off about 3 months ago, it would have sooner if I didn’t use mag charger. For the money it works very well. For screen protectors I usually just by cheap ones at home goods for it, I’ve broken several, but never damaged my phone screen. I find fit and finish isn’t always great but they still work well enough for me.

      I've heard that also, that newer ones did not come with it any more. I only used mine a couple of months before I gave up with it, to much bulk for me. Im still using the case and I am always dropping it. It works but after almost two years the case camera cover works still, although it is starting to break down. I plan on replacing it after the phones paid off.

      @@MalcolmWalker i mean because i bought wireless charging magnet to my car and it for sure is slow, i bet also speed of charging depends on the conductivity of the case’s material. I wonder if this one would be better conducting than my nephews’… because i checked on his case and that magnet never charged anyb1 though it shown that it charges. And in reviews of the magnet charger they say good opinions. So i wonder to buy tech21 blindly or do a wider research…

      @@bogslawK only the magnet from apple fit inside the case ridges. I did finally find a car mount charger that does work on the case. While it is powerful enough to gain positive charging while the maps run, it gets really hot and has overheated due to a combination of charging wirelessly and being mounted to the windshield in the sun. Some charges using wireless have to have enough wattage. In the car charger how many watts is it?
