    Thank you for making this video. Its nice to hear someone talk about how they dealt with not getting the results they wanted and how to come back from it. Its also nice to hear about success in the UCAT without feeling the need to get a top 1% score :).

    Ok so I needed to comment because I am applying for GEM too, I sat the UCAT last year and gave myself a weeks prep and honestly came out with 2340 and a 2 in situational judgement then applied and got my 4 rejections I am so hopeful this year I will do better! Love that you have made this video it's fab motivation!

    I really want to do medicine but I didn't do any extra subjects and didn't score well in my ATAR I did complete a diploma but it was in music. Should I study more before doing the UCAT like do a bachelor in something or should I just study for the UCAT and try it right off the bat? I'm trying to become a psychiatrist so I'm not really sure how to approach this >-

    I’ve got my exam in a week, and I’ve been getting the most random scores. Sometimes I get 700, sometimes 500. I’ve done 4 mocks and the highest scores I’ve got is 2500. But I need 2610 to get into Manchester. Is it even possible to improve 110 in like a week??

    • @LydiaMartinMedic
      @LydiaMartinMedic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      If you’ve been able to get 700 then it’s possible on the day! Just keep going and be consistent in this last week. Do as many full 2 hour mocks as you can so you are fully used to the timing. I also think maybe try and pick out question types you are always getting wrong and try and figure out why/what the equation is and then just practice those type of questions until you can’t get them wrong (hope that makes sense). Good luck for your test day, you got this! Xxx

    can you share tips on how you got better at decision making

    • @LydiaMartinMedic
      @LydiaMartinMedic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i think my biggest tip for decision making is to flag and skip the questions that are going to be really time consuming. I also did a LOT of mocks for descision making and eventually got used to the question types so they became very famililar and it helped me relax. Also make use of the whiteboard/notepad!

  • @nicolburchell7271

    Hi, so my ucat is in a few days- and I am really struggling with time as often do not always finish all the questions in the given though the ones I did are correct. Will this heavily affect my score and do you have to finish all the questions during the time to get a good score? (BTW to anyone doing the ucat-goodluck ;D)

    • @LydiaMartinMedic
      @LydiaMartinMedic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think you are better off flagging questions you get stuck on and coming back to them at the end if you have time! The way to get higher UCAT scores is to know when it’s better to just guess the answer because the question isn’t worth the time it takes if that makes sense. For example, in Verbal reasoning it’s better to just flag the questions with really long paragraphs and guess the answer at the end if you have time. So basically don’t worry about getting every question right it’s about getting the easy ones right and guessing the hard ones well
