Hi! My daughter loves these shelves and asked me to make some for her. So far, they are turning out really great, so I think she will be pretty happy. Your video is very clear and informative! Thanks so much! 😀
That's great! Glad the video helped. She'll use them for years to come! Our son loves his. Thinking of some different designs to make for our daughter's room soon...
This video is amazing! I have been searching for one and this is by far the best and most informative I'm so excited to give this a go! Another trip to the wood shop I go 😂
That was great! I just need to get the right tools to do projects like what you just did. Right now I just have a few tools just enough of what I'm doing but I'll have to get little by little when funds are available.
After spending 30 minutes trying to figure out the correct angles to use I decided to come to TH-cam for some help. My only question now is if my base is half the length do I need to use a different angle*? I have never made anything that needed angles cut. Your video is so helpful and the best one I found. Thank you so much.
This is great but can you explain how you got the middle triangle? What length for both pieces and how far up do you go? How did you calculate the length?
I don't... the base was 40 inches long. And I started off the larger mountains on each side with a 14 inch piece and a 16 inch piece. The rest were just cut as I went.
Well Done. I’ll have to try that! Thanks for sharing. Did you have the measurement for the little mountain peak? And what length Brad Nail did you use? Thanks Again Big Jim
Turned out amazing Rach! I wish I had somewhere for one of my own 😍 Also I feel you with the Cali sass - Belle has got some serious attitude today! 🐶🙄 4:51
Question: I used the same wood glue as you and sanded prior to applying the stain...the areas that have wood glue will not stain (areas along the seams and a couple spots where I wiped away the excess glue). What am I doing wrong?
Just here to say a huge thankyou for this video - it was really easy to follow along and the construction method suited the tools I had available just perfectly. My saw couldn't fit the 1x4 vertically, but it did have an adjusted to 'lean' over 30 degrees, which worked out great. I added a shelf in the central mountain, so be able to add more items. I used 1x6 for the base, and set it to be +4 inches longer on each end, to provide a wider, broader shelf at the bottom. I used pre-conditioned for the staining, which I think is well worth it. I uploaded a quick video on mine after staining here - th-cam.com/video/hkJ5LfNArGQ/w-d-xo.html I decided to not doing the snow caps now, but will make a set of 3-sided snow caps out of thin ply, that can be removable, to change according to the seasons.
Those look awesome man! Glad the video helped and I like that you made it your own. Thats what its all about, taking an idea and making it suit you. Well done my friend
I thought this would be an easy beginner project and I’m already lost 😂 If I measure 40 inches, am I making the cut inside the measurement or outside? My wood shop high school teacher would be so ashamed. He’d probably kick me out of class and point to the office with his good finger… Ugh! I need a dad 😂
Thank you for posting the measurements on the first two mountains great video
Very nice project for all us Mountain lovers! I know what I’m building this weekend!
Outstanding video and more outstanding choice in motorcycles.

Thank you for sharing. I saw these on pinterest and want to make them. Now, knowing the angles, I can. Nice job.
Just wanted to say I made this on my own following along with your video and it came out perfectly! Thanks for sharing this tutorial! 😊
Nicely explained and beautiful final product.
Can you list out the measurements in the description?
simple and very prety !
So cute! Building this for my granddaughter
Thanks for the help with the angles. 📐
Subscribed! 👍🏼
I love the way this turned out! Thank you for speaking out your thought process throughout the build- easiest way for myself to follow along.
Using this for Christmas gifts this year, great video.
THAT Is SUPER CUTE!! The mountain shelves are cool, too.
Thanks! He's a ham 😁
Incredible work my friend!! Turned out perfect.
Exactly what I was needing to see.
This video is amazing! I have been searching for one and this is by far the best and most informative I'm so excited to give this a go! Another trip to the wood shop I go 😂
You made that look so easy. They turned out amazing.
I made one yesterday and it turned out awesome! thanks for the video :)
Really cool project
Oh my god this is so cute!!! Definitely doing this this week 😍😍😍😍
Did you ever create a cut list? Thanks!
Love this
Looks awesome! I'm definitely going to give it a try
Beautiful shelf!! Wanna make it
Nice job and I love the giant Victory sign too!
Thank you! Ha yea I grabbed that a while back from a dealership closing down. Love that thing!
I love the on this, particularly the snow caps gives a different look. Just suscribed keep up the good work.

best mountain I seen so far and fun through out the watching, thank you
cool video ... blessed family ... nice job!
Thank you!
Awesome video! I think I'm going to be making something very similar to this very soon!
Good work
What are the lengths of the cuts for the middle and very small mountains? Thanks!
Wow beautiful work!
Pretty cool😍😍
Great job brother! Looks awesome!
Truly awesome 👏 👍
Nice.
Very nice!
Awesome JOB!!!! Great video, thanks for making a video that shows people how to actually make it.
Thanks Chad!
Awesome dude!!!!
Such a great project!

Glad it helped! You won't need a different angle for the shorter base unless you want steeper or flatter mountains. If not, just use the angle I did
@@LifeofBliss Thank you! I swear, this video is a life saver.
Best video I’ve found on here! Did an amazing job, simple and blunt. Can’t wait to make this for my sons room as well!
Thanks Krystin! Good luck making yours, I'm sure your son will love it!
Great job!!! Love the way they look!
Thanks Graz!
This is gorgeous. It’s been 5 years lol is there any plans?
Great shelf. Thanks for sharing. I am planning to do this? What is the width of the piece?
beautiful shelf! Hello from Russia!
This was awesome!!!!! I LOVE the way it turned out! I will definitely be trying my hand at this :) Thank you for sharing
is the stain dark walnut? looks awesome!
I believe it was minwax expresso
🙌
Nice!!! Thanks for sharing bruh. 👏🏻🤟🏼✌🏻from Denver Colorado
This is great but can you explain how you got the middle triangle? What length for both pieces and how far up do you go? How did you calculate the length?
I just cut what looked good. I go over it in the video, didn't really have a set length, just marked what I thought looked best
Nice project! How long is the Brad nail you used?
I usually use 1 3/8 I believe. Sounds right... or 1 1/4. Around there lol
Any chance you have a list of all the lengths for your cuts?
I don't... the base was 40 inches long. And I started off the larger mountains on each side with a 14 inch piece and a 16 inch piece. The rest were just cut as I went.
Okay no worries. Thanks again for the video. Just made some for our boys room that’s due in a couple weeks
That's awesome man, congrats on the new addition!
No rough idea on how long the middle mountain lengths were?
Any suggestions if you don't have a Brad gun?
I glue together and hold in place with painter's tape
Thankx cheffff we like. IT at home ...we will make one ;)
We hired a graphic designer lol love it
Well Done. I’ll have to try that! Thanks for sharing. Did you have the measurement for the little mountain peak? And what length Brad Nail did you use? Thanks Again Big Jim
Thanks! No measurement for the little peak, just did what I thought looked right. I used 1 1/8th brads. Have a good one Jim!
Life of Bliss Thanks A lot. Keep up the Great/Nice Work.
Do you have written steps somewhere? :) These are amazing btw
Thank you. And I did not really write anything down, just knew the angles I needed to cut and figured out the lengths as I went. Sorry!
Turned out amazing Rach! I wish I had somewhere for one of my own 😍 Also I feel you with the Cali sass - Belle has got some serious attitude today! 🐶🙄 4:51
I'm not sure who Rach is... but glad someone is finally noticing my Cali sass!
I don’t have access to a brad nailer but I do have access to a finishing nailer. Would that still work?
Oh yea, its just to hold it together while the glue dries
So what size of nails did you use for your gun?
18 gauge nails. Small but mighty 💪🏼
How long is the thang I'm total
- VERY ICE project.
Question: I used the same wood glue as you and sanded prior to applying the stain...the areas that have wood glue will not stain (areas along the seams and a couple spots where I wiped away the excess glue). What am I doing wrong?
Wood glue really doesn't accept stain well. I'd sand it a little more and then maybe cover those areas with a little wood filler maybe?
Life of Bliss thanks I’ll just be more careful with my second attempt and try not to slosh it around
No prob! Yea you won't need too much glue at all, especially if you are nailing them. Good luck!
Good video! thanks for the idea
Would this work if cut at 45d angle? I'm planning to this with mitre box and hand saw. My box doesn't have 30d.
You should be able to do something similar. Your tops should just meet up at a 90 degree angle.
Do I measure short point or long point?
Longest points
Lmao shorty wasn't impressed with the "before" look, but once he saw the finished product he liked it. Like father, like son?
Lol yea he came around after it was all done. And I can only hope he's better than I was as a kid! Lol
@@LifeofBliss
Nice. And you know I'm anticipating that video with your new monster home theater. Can't wait. Later dude!
What is the stain color? - It's not too dark and not too light - I have to build this today for someone.
Minwax dark walnut. Agreed, it's got a nice color on pine.
What type of wood was that?
Pine wood

@@LifeofBliss Thanks man! Couldn't have done it without you!! I really encourage anyone reading these comments to jump in and make it happen!
Great work! I’m currently following your pattern however there is no measurement for the middle mountain. Any suggestions?
I didn't actually measure that out, I just cut what I thought looked good. Doesn't have to be exact measurements 👍
Life of Bliss thank you so much for your quick response! Again, amazing work! More of these projects and I’ll be subscribing for sure!
Anyone want to post a list of all their cuts ?
So do you think he's a Harley guy?
Victory til the wheels fall off 😎
This the only video which makes sense rest all have wierd music no explanation
I thought this would be an easy beginner project and I’m already lost 😂
If I measure 40 inches, am I making the cut inside the measurement or outside?
My wood shop high school teacher would be so ashamed. He’d probably kick me out of class and point to the office with his good finger…
Ugh! I need a dad 😂
What were the measurements of the other Mountains?
I don't know the exact measurements, just kind of went along and cut what I thought would look best. It's really up to how you want them to look
I prefer to build with woodprix plans.
I know Stodoys has the best woodworking plans.
My only complaint about this video is the crappy DIY music
That's weird, most people come here for the music...
@@LifeofBliss weird. I didn't think anyone actually liked that music. Great build though
Just messin with ya. It's just something to have in the background. Appreciate it man
