Eric, exceptional, calming ‘how-to’ video. A Super WoW 🥳🥳. I recently purchased one of these and on taking it out of the box, those super miniature screws had come off the drive rods. I may try to re-attach them, using your clear description of alignment. Thanks !!!

Another great video. Bachmann is the only company I can tell that has an N scale USRA switcher on the market. And yes, their quality has really improved.

This is an awesome video Eric. I had two Bachmann 0-6-0s that I tore apart and fixed. They ran fine when I sold them on eBay. It was a struggle to fix them and this video would have been such a big help a couple of years ago. I sold all my steam except for three because they are so finicky. I keep my Rivarossi 0-6-0 because it runs pretty nice. I also have a Rivarossi 2-8-2 and lan Atlas pacific that run nice. They all run nice it won’t pull worth a crap.

Eric I am glad you finally got my package and that you liked what I sent you. I have no idea when or where I got that steam engine. I am truly amazed that you got it running. Thanks for sharing. Dave

It has been a while since you posted this video, but I thought I would share my recent experience with a Bachmann 0-6-0.
Recently, I received a brand new Bachmann 0-6-0. It is a very nice little locomotive with sloped tender. Runs really good at slow and high speeds. Very quiet. I just hooked up 18 twin-bay hoppers, one small tank car, and a caboose, and it pulled all 20 cars (unweighted) quite easily at low speed (and faster) on a level track. I am pretty impressed. I do not want to overwork the Loco, so I did not add any more cars.
Your two 0-6-0 videos were the primary reason I decided to get this locomotive.
    Thanks much!

Thanks for this tutorial. I recently bought a very old N scale Locomotive (it works just fine), and I was curious about how these Loco's came apart, but it seems most TH-cam clips II saw so far covered Diesel Engins, and not Steam Locomotives.

Nice video. I don't know if you have any advice but I got a new ho model of a 0-6-0 and the rivet connecting the crosshead to the side rode I think is loose because the crosshead comes out of the sidebar. You have any idea on tightening it by yourself?

    • @watchtrainsnow1099

I’m not sure. I have repaired broken parts before with crazy glue. But you have to be careful not to get it in moving parts.

Another bright idea I've had is to take a Bachmann 2-6-2. Add carefully shaped lead weight to the sides of the boiler, a bunker to the back of the cab. Viola a 2-6-2t.

They are both the same drive, so maybe it was a 2-6-2. And the person that had it before lost the pilot and trailing truck.

As far as tweezers go, it’s a 50/50 chance. I have had times when the pin flew of from the tweezer. I guess it depends on your mood on that day.
