I am sailing on Norwegian Prima in March of next year for the following destinations: Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize and Honduras. I'm excited! My first time sailing with Norwegian!
I just got home from 1st NCL cruise. (Galveston Jan 5 - 12, 2024). Loved it. Missed going all the way around on deck 8. Was in Solo Cruisers Cabin 13577. Donna Summer show was Spectacular ! Price as Right alot of fun Reminiscencing, sat in front row. A) I didn't go ashore @ Costa Maya. Take tip money for peddled taxis. Piers can be Really long. B) We ended up @ Belize City rather than Harvest Caye Island. Went to 1st option on list of Excursions (Altun Ha Ruins). C) In Roatan USE INSECT REPELLANT for the "no-see-ums" ! (Mine was in stick form but foolishly didn't use it) I LOVED the Maya Key Island Retreat Excursion there. D) At Cozumel, the Chankanaab National Park excursion (assigned area by food n pool) was perfect. Indulge Foodcourt - right After Embarkation Nudls Shrimp Pad Thai was So delicious. Hudson's serves B, L, & D. Local Bar & Grill (restaurant side) serves made-to-order menu & Super Lean Rueben. Have F U N !
@@hill77276 thanks for that review! I already booked a Mayan excursion in Costa Maya. So thrilled for this adventure. Norwegian seems like a terrific crusie line, too. So far their staff has been exceeedingly warm and cordial via phone correspondence.
We will be boarding this ship soon. Many of the features remind us of the Celebrity Beyond which we were on earlier in the year. Really looking forward to this.
Though somewhat similar in style, I prefer this to the Celebrity Edge class ships. I compare them because they both have a large suite-only area and a contemporary style. Of course, Celebrity doesn't have slides or the family stuff but that's not what I'm looking at. Overall, I'm looking at "hang out" areas and I just may like these spaces better like the Whisky Bar, Metropolitan bar, Belvedere. I also think the Haven looks better than the Retreat even if the Retreat's restaurant is more upscale. I don't like the ship within a ship concept one bit but at least the Haven doesn't take an observation lounge away like the Edge class ships do. I don't know, I think the overall decor works better for me on this ship but I do miss more spaces like the Metropolitan Bar's style. Cagney doesn't look like steakhouse to me, it's a little too bright. But, some people seem to prefer that. At least for now.
Thank you Jason I might have to give you a call man this was great I want to try Cagney's ghetto cowboy ribeye those tomahawks stinks I can't find it anywhere
I've never been on a cruise even though I've travelled frequently. I wouldn't mind one if it docked at certain places. Something about being only on water is unsettling.
I mean most do dock all the time, but they also have to sail on open water for a bit, at least a day sometimes. It’s not too bad unless it’s many days in a row. Having maps and internet help me feel more connected while at sea.
@Cruises It and Resorts Towards the front or the back of the ship? I am going on this Cruise ship in June. I have mobility problems so would like to know whereabouts this 'corner' is please. I've heard it's on deck 18, but it's not marked on the deck maps I have.
The rate for meal in specialty restaurants vary $25-45 in some cases such as Cagney’s a steak will cost you $40. I’m totally shocked that this or any cruise contains free meals. I was about to recommend the Norwegian Prima to my daughter who is a travel agent but definitely not now. Plus go-carts humming over my head is definite No. y This cruise is designed for regular middle class person willing to eat at the buffet bar and enjoy buzzing around in go-carts. Well good luck to that.
He appears as a special guest by helicopter from time to time with a translator. Just kidding 😂 Lol I was wondering if I was the only one that caught that. That's a red flag for me 😂
I'm currently on the Prima. Do yourself a favor and go with another cruise line: 1. Very slippery decks (I slipped/fell twice in the first 24 hours of sailing. This led to awful rib/side and knee pain that lasted about two days) 2. Limited entertainment options 3. Fat shaming regulations 4. Feels like a sauna in many places. Haven't they heard of air conditioning? 5. HORRIBLE telephone customer service 6. Only one pool 7. Predominantly high end luxury stores for shopping. Some of us, after all, are on a budget Only saving graces are a very nice staff (for the most part) and delicious food
I have been sailing NCL for YEARS and have been on different cruise lines as well. I enjoy the NCL line of ships way more than any of the others companies ships. All cruise lines have their issues and much depends on the ship you sail on. I believe you are being overly critical of NCL and the Prima. Please take your own advice and use a different cruise line.
the design gets worse and worse. This feels just like a variation of the Joy. The Haven takes up half the ship and is inaccessible to majority of the guest. The go cart and the galaxy pavilion both takes up so much space and cost extra. It seems that you get less and less with what you pay for on a regular cruise ticket when every little feature tries to empty your wallet. When I go on cruises, I don't want access to only half of the cruise, but the full one.
Agree. Went on Escape recently with teens and felt like space was very limited on deck for us. Haven rope course and H2O takes up a lot of the lido deck - oh and the adult only pool. Very restrictive and agree Haven takes up too much space. I've been on lots of ships that have a "ship within a ship" but really noticed it on Escape - not for me.
Don't think that NCL is going to be a good cruise. The food is bad, the service is worse! The drink package was very expensive and not worth the money. We were on the fence on which cruise line to use. and the fact is Royal Caribbean is far superior in all but one thing. NCL's bathrooms are bigger than even some of the suites in RC. That being said the rest of the check boxes go to RC hands down. Even NCL's Cagney's premier steak house falls flat on its face in both serve and food quality and understanding how to cook a fillet Mignon . The fillet was bland had no taste and it was served overcooked. When we requested to get a replacement, they could not do it. They were so slammed with tables, we had to leave without eating. our main course. They only make up the rooms once a day now, and with that they could take the whole day, We waited till 4 :30 pm most days. one of the pillows we got smelled like perfume!. Come on! get it together NCL. !!. Goes from boarding! till the end with disappointments about food and service. The ship was overcrowded and all the venues were ridiculous!!The shows are dated and low budget. Stay AWAY!!!
We just did RCI Odyssey. We won't be doing RCI again. What you said is true but all that come with a substantial price increase. We felt like the juice wasn't anywhere near worth the squeeze. Back to Norwegian we go
I was not impressed with this ship. Very small and crowded - they don't have enough space for the capacity of passengers in the pool and dining area. Only 1 show every other day. Pool is the size of a kiddie pool. Food was mediocre Upset that I spent my money on this ship I have done 28 cruises and this by far was the worst ever,.
By small spaces read cramped ones, unable to cater to all the guests. Besides the food, the cruise was excruciatingly boring, flat and unbearably cramped… always… everywhere.
Boring blah ship, Our luxury suite looked like the Holiday Inn, No live bands or music or party atmosphere. Stores closed and Slows cancelled. Nothing like the Norweigan Sun
Not a cruise person but this cruise ship is so beautiful, modern with lots of amenities
VERY CLASSY. Love the use of neutral colours instead of bright colours everywhere
Glad you like it!
Saw this ship docked in Amsterdam today, it's gigantic and looks nice.
Wow, cruise ships sure have come a long way since my first (and only) cruise back in 2002 on the Carnival Ecstasy!
This is the best video of this ship! Love the way it was filmed and edited: quick and fluid with different speeds and angles!👍Thank you!
Thanks. When are you going?

I am not sure what that means.
Just a joke.. Sorry for the confusion.. Thanks for the great tour.. We may have to give NCL another go soon 😎

I can't wait to see new Norwegian Aqua in 2025 and I would board that ship in 2026.

It’s the local.
Would be possible to put here the drinks prices and options? Tks
