Rather than smoothing with your hands try putting some Saran wrap over the project and smooth with your fingers on top of that - then you won't stick to it to pull/rip it - it's a nice smooth application that way...
Thank you for the suggestion! ❤️ I haven’t used a lot of decoupage paper so love the tips!
This really works well, I do it all the time now.
Or try a sponge I've tried both and I think a sponge works better.

Love the projects you shared. When I decoupage I make sure that I put the modge podge on all the paper and let it completely dry and then it is easier to cut and remove the excess. For the riser let it dry completely and then in a downward motion rub with 220 sandpaper and it comes right off. 😊 thank for sharing.
My cousin does decoupage, and she’s using napkins and the best selection they have at Tuesday morning stores, they always very pretty and always different ones.
Love the old wooden tiered tray the best...all just gorgeous 🌺🌺🌺
I am so sorry that someone was so rude and obviously jealous that they would be mean. You always have outstanding items are you are one of my favorites and I use a lot of your ideas. You do you and don’t worry about what is said. ☺️
Thank you Tina! I appreciate the kind words! 🤗❤️
Loved them all but the coral on the cutting board stood out. Coral is one of my favorite colors anyway.
Thank you Tonja! I’m loving coral too!!
I like seeing other people's problems that they have when they're crafting. Honestly I think that makes videos so much better because it shows us the potential problems that you can run into and then we can all discuss some potential solutions. I hate that TH-camrs make things look so easy and then I go to try it and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Decoupaging has been one of those things that is not easy for me.
I can’t wait for the CENTERIZED T-shirts!!! You are so much fun! ♥️Beckie Palmer, aka Meme
I’m getting them made for sure!! Thank you Beckie!! 🤗❤️
If you want that pop of color on the stool, you could paint the butterfly. Then restamp it like you did the flower.
I think the breadboard is my favorite too. 🧡
I am surprised that you don't have 200,000 followers! You are a gifted artist. I love that you use so much color and different styles.
Loved the breadboard and the case. I loved the technique of stamp, paint and stamp again. It really looked amazing! Very nice!
Another great batch of projects, Sonnet. I adore the look of decoupage items. The board was my favorite.
Suitcase was my favorite! Loved it! It would be nice as you talked at the end, you would be showing all of your pieces that you worked on, since you don't show it long enough for my taste. Love your items that you upcycle!
Thank you for the suggestion Dolores! ❤️
My favorite project was the little suitcase! It is beautiful!
Also Sonnet.. let the paper dry completely after the top coat of liquid patina and then sand in a downward motion around the edge of the paper and the paper will just fall off. Use like a 220 or 320 grit. You edges will be so much cleaner, crisper and neater!
Amber, once the project is totally dry, one of the big Emory board’s from Sally’s (or the Dollar Tree) will work for the sanding,.
The step stool is my favorite. Your taste is so cool! I ❤️ DIY paint! Also IOD stamps.
That bread board turned out adorable
Instead of cutting the paper where you want the edges to be If you lightly wet the edge of the paper . I love the affects of wetting it . Also you Saran Wrap when smoothing out the paper instead of using your bare hands. Glue will not stick to your hands . Love this video . So so 🥰 cute. Loved them all . Have a blessed evening 💞
Thank you Page! ❤️ I appreciate the tips!!
All five are beautiful !! 🌹🌹🌹
I love the case!! The peonies with the gold are so pretty!
#replay...loved project #3 the tray...I enjoyed watching and listening to you...
Wowwwwwww! Paint and stamp technique amazing thank you for the idea!!!
What a great idea on stamping, painting, restamping! Im going to try that.. ❤️
Your projects turned out great. I especially like the breadboard.
I would suggest you try Roycycled papers. I love the way they look and turn out on projects. I was wondering when you did the breadboard if using dark wax on the green edges would've changed the color tone enough to blend with the front green, but I like the coral color on it. That little case turned out pretty cute. And so many times the leaves on plants will actually have a tinge of the bloom color in them somewhere, so that was a happy little accident and not a problem! That little bit of color outside the lines gives the overall look "character", LOL, but that's the way many water color pictures are....so you're an artist!
I loved them all my favorite was the suitcase.that was awesome to stamp, paint and stamp again. It was beautiful.
Thank you Anita!! ❤️
I love the redesign with Prima papers. They are super durable. They are more like a dryer sheet than "paper"
Loved the projects. I found to let the item dry and then use an exacto knife to cut excess paper so it doesn’t tear so easily. Enjoy your videos.
Wonderful tutorial, thanks Sonnet!!!! My favorite was that transformation of the carry case.
Thank you Susan!! ❤️
I am obsessed with Roycycled. They have the coolest paper and designs. They are super easy to use, nice weight.
I agree! I actually was using a roycycled paper and love them!!
BEST VIDEO YET! I'M GETTING THAT CORRUGATED METAL PAPER ❤❤❤ PLEASE do a video with the NEW seed catalog transfer!
We loved the suitcase and you painting the flowers then restamping the image…AMAZING!!
Thank you!! 🤗❤️
New subscriber here...One word STUNNING! That beautiful butterfly paper! You did and amazing job I love that step stool turned out gorgeous as well. Thank you for sharing such beautiful inspirations. Blessings.
😍💜🙏🏽
I LOVE Decoupage Queen Papers!!!!
I loved the suit case❤️
Really loved the tiered tray ❤
Love ❤️ all ! Thank you for your inspiring techniques!
My favourite was the three tier tray, but I liked all of them x x
Another tip is wait for the adhesive to dry before you try and cut it. The paper is less likely to get destroyed. It takes patience which I don't always have...hahaha
I see that you are using Roycycled Treasures papers... I haven't watched the video yet to see if you liked them, I am just in the beginning where you are showing the papers. If you like Roycycled then you will LOVE JRV Decoupage Papers! I used to use Roycycled and many others until I found JRV papers and now there is no going back lol 😜❤️
I do love the roycycled paper!!
The breadboard is my favorite. The flower is beautiful. I also loved the suitcase. Great technique. I recommend JRV decoupage paper. It’s great to work with. Thanks Sonnet
Thank you Stephanie!! ❤️
Royce has the BEST decoupage paper. No one even comes close.
The tiered tray is beautiful
I have had the paper tear, too, but if you can salvage a piece of the same coloring from your surrounding paper, it can be added on top and once lightly distressed, you really can’t tell. The flower was busy enough to hide the boo boo.
I would recommend never putting your hands or fingers on the paper. Use a ball of saran wrap to smooth out your paper after you lay it down. The reason your paper tore was because you already started putting liquid patina on top of the paper to seal it in, rubbed it with your fingers and then lifted it and put it back down. I would recommend that if you have to lift it to adjust it or get wrinkles out, do all of that before you put any of your liquid patina on the top of the paper. Also I would only reccomend lifting it up once in a certain area. You definitely do not want to lift like the right side up, lay it back down and lift it again... it will definitely tare. Do try the JRV papers though if you haven't already. You know I wouldn't steer you in the wrong direction 😁❤️
Another great tip!! Thank you!!
@@SonnetsGardenBlooms you are very welcome my friend. I absolutely love how fierce you are 💖 I love that you are not afraid to jump into something that you are not 100% familiar with and give it a try 😊 It is like you learn right along with us and that is why you and your channel are by far one of my most favorites 💜💜💜
I like Roycycled Papers and Monahan Papers (smaller sizes) for variety of styles…everything from floral, farmhouse, industrial, typography, French, you name it.
CowGIRL Coral. One of my favorites!
For the inset ones use a craft knife once the paper has dried with the liquid patina on top. Then do you second coat of liquid patina on top and it will be flawless 😁
10:15 1/9/25 Hi, Love your videos and creations! I’m watching your video when your decoupage paper tore. I also watch Julie’s Designs and Signs. Julie says to allow the 1st layer of Liquid Patina completely dry before brushing the top of your paper with more Liquid Patina, otherwise your paper will tear. I guess it’s true 😅.
Such great up cycles ❤️
Love the technique you used on the “suitcase”. Think the gold was a great touch to the metal band, the clasps and the little feet. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Connie!!❤️
I loved them all but my favorite was the stool.
Thank you Suzette!! ❤️
Everything turned out so beautiful! The little suitcase is actually an old typewriter case. I highly recommend JRV decoupage papers - they are gorgeous & very high quality. 🌻
Thank you Roxanne!! ❤️ Someone else mentioned the typewriter case…never even thought about that!
my favorite is the suitcase, so cool!
Thank you Mel! ❤️
Beautiful work and very inspiring!!!
Love the bread board as well. The coral color of the flower is beautiful.
Thank you Cheryl! ❤️
Roycycled papers are amazing and jrv has some good ones as well
The paper I used was Roycycled. I haven’t tried JRV yet but I will! Thank you Trina!! ❤️
Love your projects! I can't pick a favorite decoupage paper! I love Queen Bee papers, Rocycled, and JRV!
The DIY making powders would of been perfect for painting over your peony project! I just received my order and can't wait to try them out with my stamps!
Thank you for all the inspiration! I love your channel!
So…. I super loved the decoupage papers used. That coral print is gorgeous. I loved how your little suitcase turned out.
Thank you Sherry!! ❤️
I love JRV, Roycycled and Monoghan papers.
I just loved your Decopage of the suitcase. Honestly, I was skeptical when you started painting the flower. When you placed the stamp on the flower it was genius. Quite beautiful and my favorite.
I love to use the napkins at Tuesday Morning for decoupage . They are so beautiful! 🥰
The suitcase is my absolute favorite! I have to try that😱!!!!
The cutting board turned out so pretty. I’ve never used a transfer. It looks like so much fun.✨
I loved the suitcase you painted!!!! Gorgeous!!! 🤩🤗
Thank you Heather!! ❤️
Oh wow Sonnet- I see those vintage suitcases all the time! If we lived closer I would just get them for you. I think my favorite project was the little bench- so darn cute- would be great with some plants on it or as a riser at your booth or show.
I wish you lived closer too! 🤣 thank you!! ❤️
Sonnet you painted Stamps are as pretty at the papers. It's so pretty. I like how all the pieces come together and can work together or separate. I also have to say it's good that you show what can happen and how to fix it. Ive watched channels before and seems too perfect. We know you're definitely Superwoman but showing that tear made me realize I'm not the only one!!! Have a wonderful week. See ya Friday.
Thank you Charlotte! ❤️ I like to show the good, the bad and the ugly…I think that’s the saying…lol! No one’s perfect and I continue to learn every day! You have a wonderful week too!
I love what you did with the stamps and paint. 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you Gina!! ❤️
Nice flips. The plaque and the cutting board were my favorites.
Thank you Maggie!! ❤️
I really liked the decopauge cutting board! And the idea of stamping, painting, and then restamping was great! I have to try that! 😊
Thank you!! ❤️
Loved the bread board and 3 tier tray the most. But loved them all. Great job!
Thank you Misty!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing. If you trace where you want to cut, instead of cutting on trace line, take a wet Qtip and apply on the trace line and gently tear...try on a small piece to see if the particular paper works with this technique first...I have found it to work well. Maybe you have had someone offer this tip before...it also works with napkins and Mulberry paper. Love all the projects!
Thanks for the tip!! ❤️
I love the little bench. I actually picked it up and put it back down again now I could kick myself.
LOL have a great week.
Thank you!! Oh no!! I’ve been searching for little risers to create height in my displays so I grabbed it the minute I saw it!!
Thank you for the tips, I did purchase the liquid patina 😇
JRV decoupage papers are my favorite. I just bought some Roycycled papers. I have used a lot of papers in the past too.
Love them all.
Thank you Jeannette! ❤️
I love Monahan papers you can buy them directly too!!!! cindy : )
Hi Sonnet, let the medium under the decoupage paper dry then take your razor to cut off excess paper
Also it doesn’t take much to tear decoupage paper by just brushing ,I try not to brush over the same place more than twice.
You can also.just lightly sand the dry edge of the paper and the excess will come right off
Great tip! Thank you!!
The stamped, painted, and restamped suitcase turned out beautifully! However, I am more interested in cutting boards, so that’s my favorite today!
Thank you Lorraine!! ❤️
Hey sonnet,Melissa marrow at vintage bee design has amazing products and napkins too for decouoage. She is her on you tube as well
I do love that peach colored decoupage paper. It will look great on the white!
Thank you JoAnn!! ❤️
I love the bread board and the suitcase is AMAZING! Stamping over top the paint was perfect! ♥️
Thank you Tammy!! ❤️
If you use soft gel (I like Golden Soft Gel) to apply decoupage paper you can list and adjust the paper with it ripping. It has a longer “open time” that allows you to move it around a bit.
Thank you for the tip! ❤️
Oh my word! You are so creative...I loved the "suit case!" It was so clever to restamp the image on the painted version. My favorite? Hard to say...they were all pretty great! I thought that when you are taking something apart and keeping track of all the bits of the project, you could take photos to show how they came apart! Looking forward to what you come up with on Friday!
Thank you Kathryn! ❤️ another viewer suggested taking a photo too! Great idea!!
Agree with Candace. Use cling wrap instead of your fingers. It won't tear.
Thanks Lindsay!
I like the tiered tray and the suitcase is amazing!
Thank you Sandra!! ❤️
My favorite was also the bread board. Love the decoupage paper.
The paper was beautiful! Thank you Shirley! ❤️
You did color blocking with your peony stamp 🎉😁 I am so excited‼️ It turned out so amazing 😍 I absolutely love to color block with my stamps, it is so much fun! This was a great video Sonnet! Thank you so much for sharing with us and always being such a huge inspiration ❤️
Love the peach paint color!
Thank you!! ❤️
Beautiful items! Thank you-you have great ideas and make very pretty things.
(I would turn the large flower upside down on the cutting board so the handle is the branch- it’s just such a lovely flower and that way more of it can be enjoyed.)
Thank you Lydia!!❤️
Everything is so beautiful 😍
Thank you Lily!! ❤️
Everything looks amazing but my favorite was the suitcase
Thank you Tammie!! ❤️
I loved ALL of these flips.
Thank you Lisa!! ❤️
Just another thought take a picture first of what you going to take apart I worked as a mechanic for several years and I would take a picture before I took anything apart so I would know where they went back🤔
Great idea Margie! ❤️ I kept bumping all those pieces
Love the technique you did on the suitcase.
Thank you Ruth! ❤️
My favorite Decoupage paper by far is the JRV Decoupage paper by Jami Ray Vintage. I absolutely love their stencils too, hands down the best on the market and their stencil brushes as well 💯❤️
Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to try it!
Decoupage Queen rice paper is the best!
My goodness I love the “suitcase”…..it is beautiful! I like all the projects. You did a fantastic job on all of them.
Thank you Jade!! ❤️
Loved the suitcase you did! Those IOD stamps and all the ways you can use them! As always, great video and can’t wait for Friday’s video!
Thank you Heather!! ❤️
I love working with rice paper
Someone else suggested I try that too! Thanks!
The only decoupage paper I have tried is Tim Holtz and it was fantastic
I love Prima Re-Design decoupage paper because I love the vintage papers. I use both paper and their tissue paper. It goes on well and looks wonderful. All of your projects are outstanding and I know you will do well at your upcoming sale.
Thank you Tina! ❤️ I’ll check them out!
