I missed the chance to fly on one of these birds just a few days ago. I'm going to try again this November on my next DXB-EWR trip.
What a great video 👍. Brings back memory of an AA flight I took about 25 years ago from Tampa to Miami. Usually an ATR 72, the equipment change was a 757. The 757 had its spoiler up for most of the 35 minute flight. I also respectfully disagree with the 757 being the greatest single aisle aircraft. That title goes to 707/720. hey bro have you heard of the new fingerprint system in kuwait airport? there is also reservations for the fingerprint, and if you dont do your fingerprint you wont be able to travel. Can you do a video on kuwait to dubai? day 1 of asking
It would indeed be a bestseller right know z but back them it was a not money maker and expensive. All in all, the 737 make more sense to make new as it really is 20 to 1 when you compare to the 757. Also both have the same cabine with. And honestly the max would almost sell as good if it wasn't because of the accident. It would probably be almost 7,000 order probably or more I think! But mistakes are mistakes. And united, well that another tale. Excellent videos like always 👍
Great video! Whenever I fly on a 757, I think that Boeing made such a terrible mistake by not redeveloping it, rather than designing the umpteenth iteration of the 737 and all its compromises.
The Boeing 757-300 is the largest and longest single-aisle aircraft anyone has flown on. Named the "flying pencil", It has 2 engine options; The Rolls Royce RB211 turbofan jet engines or the Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines. Both of these engines make the Boeing 757-300 very vibrant during taxiing, takeoff and landing, and even when it's taxiing to the gate. During takeoff the sound of these 2 engines are awesome and classic, like they're even roaring like a lion. It has a range of 6,287 km, while the Boeing 757-300ER has a range of a whopping 11,287 km; making it the second-longest flying aircraft in the Boeing 757 family, and the second-longest flying single-aisle aircraft anyone has flown on. Only 37 of them were built. The only airlines that use the Boeing 757-300ER are Delta, United, Aer Lingus and Icelandair. Delta is the largest operator of the Boeing 757-300ER.
@@TheLayoverAviationYou, too. The max operating speed for a Boeing 757-200 or 300 is 659 mph (1,061 km/h)/573 kts/Mach 0.86. That's faster than the max operating speed of a Boeing 767-200, 300 or 400.
I’m flying first class with United in October. I’ve flown only one other time first class with Alaskan airlines and it was wonderful. I’ve heard United has retrofitted some of their planes. But, it won’t be completed until 2026? Was your first class experience with United worth it?
Air force pilots tend to have much rougher inputs and I can usually notice that! But in this case I know the captain was an air force veteran, African American guy. I managed to have a short chat with him!
Absolutely perfect. At that time, Continental Airlines and United Airlines had a big merger. Continental Airlines is all aircraft transported by United Airlines. I find it a bit strange because these seats are not IFE. Why is that? It is on the internet cell phone. Can I ask you? I know something about video editing. Which APP for video editing ?
Awesome information thanks for sharing. I m not fan of 757 /767 aircraft loving the 747 queen and newer aircraft. Still don’t understand why United and delta still operates them. Tell me something difference between 737-800 and 737- 900 ? Pls
The good thing is that United is retrofitting almost all of their domestic aircraft with IFE screens over the next couple of years so hopefully the 757‘s will be able to be a part of that! Also what were the other options for breakfast?
I always like the 757 so much, not only flying them as passenger but also dispatching them as ground staff, and the -300 series is just so sleek and elegant, a shame they are being replaced... About the mistake in the picture of the inflight magazine i´m puzzled. is it maybe that the after wing emergency doors are sown bigger than they are? As always a great video. Greetings from Madrid!!
Always preferred working the 757 over the 319/320321. The performance of the 757 is hard to beat that’s where I feel indifferent when it comes to the XLR. I personally feel the XLR can’t be a permanent replacement but a solution to a temporary problem. Past 2030 these things are gonna be certified geriatrics…. Shame Boeing did not offer an update to the 757 program. Updated avionics, engines. Let me be quiet nice video……

@@TheLayoverAviation Wow you've got some Long haul videos coming up NIce! Hope some were Business class ;) I won't be flying for a bit :( but have a bunch of Travel around Europe later near fall! That Mex hotels no Bueno! But better than fighting traffic from Mex city for an hour.. Can't wait to see your long haul flight videos!
Im gonna watch this 10 times
Yes you better do! So much asking for it🤪
Do you think they'll start adding IFE's on airlines in the US? Airlines like Oman Air have added IFE's even on 40 minute flights to Dubai.
I believe these B757 will be retrofitted. It’s just been announced.
@@TheLayoverAviation Oh okay I see. Thanks for the amazing review btw.
Thanks for the video. Those are rare birds and indeed, this is my first time watching a 757 review. Ethiopian operated some, then converted them to freighters. I do not know if they are still part of ET's fleet. Astral Aviation operates two 757-200F. Of course, the most popular 757 is Trump Force One.
GE90 is GE90, no one can beat it
I know, true, but this one is on a good second place!
Omggg...you were in my city Houston.
I visit quite often actually.. Perhaps 2-3 times a year.
hey bro have you heard of the new fingerprint system in kuwait airport? there is also reservations for the fingerprint, and if you dont do your fingerprint you wont be able to travel.
Can you do a video on kuwait to dubai? day 1 of asking
Great vid man! What did you use to record with if I may ask?
Thanks!! iPhone 13 Pro max.
Fly the Delta version of the 757-300, it’s much more updated with IFE’s and the Boeing sky luggage bins up above
I’ve seen on video’s, it looks much nicer indeed!
Delta is the largest operator of the Boeing 757-300ER.
thanks a lot for all the info, loved it!!! I am sure many others will appreciate ❤️
You don't feel much in the way of takeoff and landing with the 757. It's such a behemoth.
You made me miss the plane!
@@TheLayoverAviation Whut
18:07-18:32 US airlines often employ former air force pilots, could that be the reason for both observations?
Pls
The B737-900 is a couple of meters longer!
The ER variant can even fly further
The good thing is that United is retrofitting almost all of their domestic aircraft with IFE screens over the next couple of years so hopefully the 757‘s will be able to be a part of that! Also what were the other options for breakfast?
757❤
I know!! ❤️ ✈️
I have flown almost every Boeing aircraft except the B757 as they have been quite hard to spot.
And it’s precisely the best one that’s a must fly!!!! I hope you still get the chance!
@TheLayoverEatFly yep definitely would want to fly. You should try it with Delta too as they got much modern interiors compared to United
Nice
I badly wanna go on a holiday
Don’t we all 😂
I just returned from 3 weeks off and it felt like 3 days..
My husband and my daughter they both fly for UA.😊
Nice! So I guess you get some nice staff travel perks😋
What was that about the cabin door not functioning properly 🤨
Don’t know.. Something that caused a delay..
@ oof 😵💫
Btw love ur channel ur very underrated 😊
When did United get rid of the IFE’s on their 757’s?
2018. They plan to add it back, although I suspect that the 753s will get it after most of the Airbuses and 737s get it
Please review uganda airline’s airbus a330 neo
I hope to fly it soon on my next trip to Uganda!
12:04 your neighbour Andrew seems to be short of Rilatine 😅
I didn’t even notice! That explains a lot though😂
kidding.
No sweet treats for the crew this time? 😢
I’m not sure… Most of the time I bring but I don’t film it all the time.
Awesome thing about today's technology keep old birds like this flying. Suppose to be out of service. Year 2025.
I think they will now update them and keep them longer around. There isn’t any plane it can be replaced with..
3:44 Overspeed
Not the 90’s printer😂😂
Hey there!
Can you do a trip report from Delhi to Toronto on board air India's Boeing 777-300er?
I mostly travel for work, so that’s a hard trip for me to be on. But I’ll try the Air India B777-300ER some time!
@@TheLayoverAviation sure no pressure
ECON+ is not a class but seats with extra room so United operates their 753 with 2 class configuration First and Economy
Yes true, that’s mentioned, no?
bro how is this first class? it looks like economy class
That’s how they call domestic premium economy in the US😂
Review Ba or KLM again
BA is booked! 😊
Hello how are you are you fine you are lucky to travel to every country but I can't even see with my two eyes but I want to talk to you😊
Thanks a lot my friend! It was my childhood dream to travel everywhere so I did everything possible to make it come true.
Thanks for watching!
I beg to differ but A321 and A321XLR are better than 757. But service of united is a different thing. I think it is the best comparatively in usa
I mean better performance wise. The newer A321’s have nothing up to it. But yes, being new and green wise the A321 beats it.
He says "american in his experience are the best kissers on landings and they also use full reverse thrust a lot vs the rest" thats because he doesnt fly with Ryanair 😔😏
Ah yes, they use reversers too but don’t kiss!
@@TheLayoverAviation From my experience they always provide a smooth ride and landing but yea its been commonly made standard they cant land properly, I mean I like to do planespotting and believe me I see them do better landings than other manjor airlines or at least here in Madrid.
Salmantariq 😢😂😮😅😊
hopefully they make a 757X
I hope so too!
I hope the same thing, too.
When's the facereveal? :)
Once I quit from my current job😅
I’m already a representative for a big brand so to travel around and rave about other airlines or companies isn’t a good idea😀
Was Chuck an “engineer” as you say, or was he an A&P mechanic? Mechanics are not engineers. I am a 35 year A&P mechanic, and I am not a college educated engineer. If you (wrongly) call mechanics engineers, then what do you call college educated and credentialed people who have engineering degrees?
too bad you found IAH grim and the food overpriced. we still welcome you.
There are better airports out there.. But I’ll continue to visit Houston!
Thanks for writing.
I visit denver colorado
