So enjoyed your video-even after many years of flying I learn something new in your videos. I have never flown Emirates but I am impressed .=-the food looked delicious and I loved the feature of learning snippets of a new language in the IFE. The A380 is indeed very impressive. Look forward to many more of your videos. Safe Travels.
Was waiting for this video, excellent work, actually I'm also going to travel with EK in August from AMD - DXB - YYZ , and i also has booked seat no 68A on their A380 on DXB - YYZ leg, very excited. Now i have idea what is like to travel in such seat.
In a way a fantastic economy class like this is better than Business class because you’re not worrying about if you got value for money - you’re just delighted by all the features!
Well, I would never say no to Business Class if provided by my employer of if there is a good offer. On this particular flight there was an upgrade available for $1800, but I was very happy with having one of the two best seats in economy so I staid! But yes, economy is great value for money regardless.
Great flight report. The food on Emirates always amazes me, the choice and quality always seems top notch. Nice to see some flap action 😎Am looking forward to some business/first class footage soon. Cheers 🥂🥃
Great video and information…. I am your biggest supporter and fan as i like aviation details and your videos are just fabulous… Appreciate your hard work and keep it up 👍 😊
You definitely eat the Indian food like idli correctly my friend. I love dunking them in Sambar, the only way I eat it. Great job as always, love watching your content.
Forget the original point of the A380 being a hub to hub plane, this beast is surely the size that most long haul planes are going to need to be in the future. Sure, if you could re-engineer the airframe to be lighter or more aerodynamic you could progressively reduce cost. But for sheer transportational power, the A380 is superb. Until next gen engines come on line, any machine looking to get close to a quad jet isn't going to cut it.
Thank you for the report trip. A380 is incredible. My longest travel was with a bus yes a bus 🚌 from Türkiye to France in 4 days it was around 50 hours. No IFE no food no confortable seat . So 15hours in this economy class with Emirates for me look like luxury. With car is very good I did this from France to Türkiye, plane It's just 3hours but bus ... Never again. I'm waiting the next video with Qatar airways.
In Latvia they have long distance buses that travel in 24 hours to Paris or 20 hrs. to Berlin for around 100 euros. This is more expensive than flying on a budget carrier. People told me they take the bus to be able to carry more baggage.
@@peterrisbergs7156 yes this is why I took the buse because I had lot of baggage with me. But today I'm happy I find a low cost airlines Sun Express it's a company from Lufthansa and Turkish airlines I can have 30 KG of luggage. I did İzmir Brussels in direct flight for 120 euros. If I took Turkish airlines I should have done this İzmir İstanbul İstanbul Brussels and more expensive for 20 KG. With car and plane is ok for me but buse omg it's very difficult.
No way! I didn’t even touch that pizza as I was still full. You don’t really move a lot on these flights so you don’t burn many calories, so the food stays there longer. I was completely full and I strongly believe a 3rd hot meal would be a waste!
@@TheLayoverAviation I guess I am a pig. As a fellow airline enthusiast and traveller, I really enjoyed your video. It's very informative too. BTW I have no idea how pilots know where they are going. It's a dumb thing to say I know. But I'm dumn when it comes to this.
Hola Alex! Muy bien otravez! Team of viewing this channel, dont you agree that The Layover is the best?? Alex, you are surpassing ANY other avGeed reporter as you cover every aspect always with so much details and including all details from flight details, inflight and spending just enough time from pre flight to post flight. Although my heart lies with KLM being ex pilot I have to admit I mostly fly Emirates with Gold Status. You just cannot beat it in every aspect, detail and service! Coming to DXB next month, guess what, flying from AKL to DXB 16 hrs upper deck on Emirates! Cannot wait. Gracias Alex! Tot spoedig maar wellicht niet in DXB?! Zou leuk zijn...
Gracias Flip! Thanks a lot for the lovely comments. You made my day! I flew EK First the other day and thought about you. I was wondering about all that I would do on a flight from Auckland. I just had the time of my life on board. Completely the contrary as on QR First where I couldn’t wait to leave. (video on this coming soon). I’m this week busy visiting the Arabian Travel Market so the next video is delayed but I’ll try to publish Emirates First for you soon! And as you’re Skywards Gold, I would not mind spending those miles on First Class on your trip! Have a great one ✈️ ❤️ Stuur een e-mail naar thelayoverfoodies@gmail.com en laat maar weten wanneer je langs komt!
Great video as always. 15h i wont do. Get very restless. Always take the "same" seat on Qatar. Upper deck 30K by exit emerg. Because want to strech my legs often. Cheers! 🙏
I also am not a fan of +10 hours direct and rather stop somewhere, unless in Business/First. But I really wanted to take this flight to show it to you all, and back on the same seat but on QR! It actually made a difference to sit there.
Alex, Indeed it was a foody flight , surprisingly from my vision most of the passengers were Indian😂. Ending Albeit 🤭. I would surely recommend you to travel in Air India on their new route from BLR-SFO apart from that it's interior is from Ex-Delta and IFE is also better than the regular 777 they're having.
Thank you for this outstanding video, the details and information are great! I'm now saving up for a trip from LAX California to DXB Dubai. It's my dream to make the trip. I want to be seated as you are because I have long legs, and I use a mobility chair. I've been told that Emirates will allow me to take my mobility chair, and they will assist me from the door of the aircraft to my seat. I can still walk but distance is limited, so it won't be difficult getting to my seat. I'm looking forward to the day that I board the A380 - 800. again I thank you for this outstanding video. I've subscribed to your channel and will be watching you. God bless, and and safe travels always.... Roger S
I would love to fly on a 15 hour flight in Business class. That’s my next goal and target. I hate economy seats. I think I’m gonna pay $160 for that seat you’re in. I would rather have the entire row to myself so I can stretch out.
As long as you set yourself a goal and target it’s all doable one day! I also actually prefer an entire row in Economy rather than paying thousands for Business Class, but that’s very rare nowadays..
Wow! Like and lets watch!😅😊 You got a Museum livery!! Awesome, lucky you!!😮 For me..16 hours is small amount on A380! Time runs like water!! I just like Emirates and they are my first choice, but from Czechia...the flight tickets are expensive!! 💀 Enjoyed my stay again!! See you soon!😊✈️ My video of 748 is out too! Hope you will like it!
I was just in the shop scrolling on my phone and saw your video came out. I’ll check it out shortly! pd. I think I’ve flown on every special livery in the past 10 years except for the one EK2019 one.. Take care bud!
@@TheLayoverAviation I have flown with Arsenal FC and 2 times on Orange Expo....but as a spotter,i spotted every single livery they had past 10 years :D What do you think about their new livery?
My personal favorite airline safety video is of the emirates 777. It was the same 10 years before aswell. I feel that they should just continue with it because it's so nostalgic.
I've lived in the UAE almost as long as you have, but I've never flown EK because of their business class prices. Case in point, now that UA has returned to DXB, and their Polaris business seats are priced much more reasonably than EK's business seats, I can live here another 15 years & never fly on EK.

It’s by far the best seat on such a long flight. You won’t regret it. Have a lovely flight and thanks for watching!
Your channel is underrated bro... may you get a lot of following in TH-cam soon...
I’m already happy as is but thanks a lot! It’s quite new and growing fast though. Thanks for watching 😊
Wow The flight is so amazing and the food is excellent in Emirates A380 flight from Dubai to San Francisco ❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤🇦🇪🇺🇸
Great flight report. The food on Emirates always amazes me, the choice and quality always seems top notch. Nice to see some flap action 😎Am looking forward to some business/first class footage soon. Cheers 🥂🥃
Great video and information…. I am your biggest supporter and fan as i like aviation details and your videos are just fabulous… Appreciate your hard work and keep it up 👍 😊
Thanks for the lovely words. Keep enjoying then, I do my best not to disappoint!
You definitely eat the Indian food like idli correctly my friend. I love dunking them in Sambar, the only way I eat it. Great job as always, love watching your content.
I’m glad I did it correctly 😊 Indian food is delicious, definitely in my top 5 favorite cuisines in the world.
Thanks for writing!!
Ur vedios are always marvelous &am glad to see tht ur channel is growing
Thanks a lot! Nice words. And thanks for being part of it.
U welcome dear enjoy time in sanfransico
Thank you, i loved it ❤
thanks Annika! Very glad you did!
My one friend is your 12th youtube channel subscriber 🔥
Really?! That is so long ago!! Say hi to your friend!
@@TheLayoverAviation btw did you fly in any of these Emirates aircraft with registration A6-EBK, A6-EBM, A6-EBQ, A6-EBR, A6-EBU or A6-EBY?
Awesome trip report ! Thank you !
A thanks to you for watching!
Lovely Video, really enjoyed it.
Very happy to hear!! thanks for watching 😊
I know! Nothing will ever beat this plane. I heard there are big plans for the B777-9X but showers will be a thing of the past 😔
@@TheLayoverAviation Thanks, keep up the good work
love your music and subtitles!
Thanks Gregory, glad you liked it!!
Superb .. Loved the video .
glad you did, thanks for watching!
I love the flight EK226 sfo to dxb. Great video.
Thanks Yasmin!
That flight is nice but I mostly sleep on it.
@@TheLayoverAviation that’s me on EK225:( sleeping through it!
Very nice! I enjoyed your video of your trip
Thanks, very happy you did! Thanks for letting me know 😀
Very interesting and informative! I’ve flown the same route.. the food wasn’t particularly good. Overall still a great exp.
Thanks, glad you found so! I guess the food depends on the month and flight.. Mine was good this time.
Hope it’s better for you next time!
Great trip report, cheers.
Thanks buddy!
Fantastic video. The only thing that could top this would be a third full hot meal instead of the hot snack in this 16 hours flight.
Have a great one ✈️ ❤️

Amazing Emirates Flight👌
It was indeed :)
Every time beautiful video s 😊😊
Thanks for this ❤
Thanks Enrico! Always a pleasure. I owe a thanks to you for watching.
Verry detailed and good video bro il be flying at the end of the month on this beast from Amsterdam to Bangkok with a lay-over in Dubai .
That wing is a beast.....
Totally insane. I had the chance to walk under it in the Dubai Airshow and its even crazier below..
I love the window seat plz do a review on a different Airline but the same window seat
13:55 ouch .. that poor magazine holder pocket - stretched to da MAX! 😮😮
Roger S
I was on EK225 returning to sf on May 1st. Maybe close to the day you filmed this.
It was somewhere in April.. I take some time to edit the video’s so it comes out later..
I hope you enjoyed your flight!
I love your videos ❤
I am very glad you do!
Enjoyable vloggggg
Wow! Like and lets watch!😅😊
You got a Museum livery!! Awesome,lucky you!!😮
For me..16 hours is small amount on A380! Time runs like water!!
I just like Emirates and they are my first choice, but from Czechia...the flight tickets are expensive!! 💀
Enjoyed my stay again!! See you soon!😊✈️
My video of 748 is out too!
Awwww! Indian food just tastes better in the air but one thing more for your perception my buddy! Pakistani cuisines are "in the air". Bottoms up!
My personal favorite airline safety video is of the emirates 777. It was the same 10 years before aswell. I feel that they should just continue with it because it's so nostalgic.
I've lived in the UAE almost as long as you have, but I've never flown EK because of their business class prices. Case in point, now that UA has returned to DXB, and their Polaris business seats are priced much more reasonably than EK's business seats, I can live here another 15 years & never fly on EK.
i just love ur videos and how u explain everything so clearly while giving so much info!
so much hard work! u even edit while on a flight.
im a 12 yr old boy living in abu dhabi and wish to be a pilot when i grow up. watching videos like these make me so happy!
