Thank You HourNine Racecraft - man, not the best quality video, but it helped me dealing with a 40 pin connector to the Around View Monitor module. The left and right camera of my 2015 Leaf were switched (!) - Can't even think on how that could have happened!- I had to identify the 2 sets of 4 pins (one camera per set of 4) and switch them plus move away another 4 to make for maneuvering room, removed/replaced 12 pins in total, switching the L and R an put it back together. - Couldn't have done it without you, honor and respect to you! :)
So I followed along. I found using a zip-tie for the levers actually helped me release the metal pins without bending them. I didn't have to pry, I just had to insert the zip-tie as far as it would go, and the pin would slide right our without being bent. Just something to think about. Thanks so much!
Thanks for info.My friend asked me to fix a pulled out wire on his Harley while he threaded them through some new bars.Little screwdriver and popped the pin and soldered it back on.Good information here.
You helped me over all other videos out there by actually showing "how to" remove the pins. I realized that I have the steel pins - you are 100% correct, they are a nightmare! But many thanks none the less. My car radio remembers everything now! :D
Thanks this helped us. My fiance and I were fixing a Blower Motor Resistor in my Jeep and needed a little help with figuring out how to get the wires out of the pigtail connector.
This helped immensely with installing my ASWC-1 into my 2010 dodge caravan stereo wiring harness. This, plus another video were a major help. The screwdriver kit you are using is $2 at menards. For my part, I actually couldn't seem to deactive the pin in some cases, and broke it's holder out, and then removed it. It worked for me. Thanks for the help!
@@LegitRaceCraft But sadly, the ASWC wasn't impressive... when I pushed the "reset" button on it, it caved into the unit and detached and disappeared. So. I had to cut it free. but your video still helped, they just could have made this thing a bit sturdier for the money spent. Thanks for the video tho, it totally helped my install.
Im repairing and reconnecting the fuel line wire harness. Any idea if the 20 pin connector uses high amperage. I'm going to have to split it in 2 10 pin connectors as I cannot find a good quality 20 pin connector?
I would look at the size of the pins before running a higher amperage. If the pins are 1/4 inch wide or so, then I would run a higher amperage connection like a fuel pump. Off of the top of my head, try to find an early 00s is300/gs300 in a junkyard and look in the ECU box (front driver side of the engine bay). You'll find a male and female connector with about 15 pins, a couple of which are the high amperage connector, and the surrounding pins are the smaller/lower amperage connector
The grey plug looks very similar to the one on my miata ecu harness. I hope it's this easy 😁 would you know what the pins are called? And if you can actually buy them?
The pins are able to be purchased, yes. You can post pictures of the pins/plug on the Motorsport Wiring Alliance Facebook group and someone will likely know where you can purchase the pins. There should be a part number on the plug itself, you can look up that part number and possibly find pins for it as well.
-HourNine Racecraft: How's 'bout getting the object being described *_IN FRAME_* , huh!?! And, while your at it, check the *_FOCUS_* ?!? That would make a _significantly_ *BETTER* video presentation, *_ya think?_* That said, if you bother to continue to look and listen, despite the obvious glitches w/ various props, as well as the _minimal camera_ , there's some reasonably good information here, particularly for the individual just getting into wiring of automotive-type circuits and its varied connector types. For that alone, this video will receive a 👍.
It's your choice whether you are nice or rude, I'll make my choice and respond kindly. Check out my newer videos, they are far better. This video is 10 years old, it's not out of focus it is just low quality compared to today's video. Have a nice day
I don't know, I've seen some weird issues with the new electronic throttles. Unplug them and the car redlines (neon), disconnect/reconnect the battery and the car loses stored memory on how to operate the throttle (jetta), etc. I'm sure other people have had the same problem you are having though, and most likely it is being discussed in forums somewhere
This helped a lot I did everything, only thing left are vacuum lines & coolant lines. Could you make a video of the 3 hoses under the throttle body? I dont know where they go. Also there is a metal line coming off the wastegate forward the back of the engine. Where does that go? Any video of the hoses would be great. You've hoped me a lot so far & this is the last thing I need then ill be making a video of my whole swap with pics & videos.
The pins in my harness corroded, which means I would have to replace the whole pin. Could anyone point me to a good website that can provide such pins? Any forums or any good website. Any help would be much appreciated. I have a Chevy 2005 equinox and I need to repin the harness connector that's under dashboard driver's side. Any help any help or info would be much appreciated!
You should be able to find a vacuum hose routing diagram and a coolant hose routing diagram online for your engine. Off the top of my head, you will have vacuum going to the purge canister, the idle-up solenoids (bolted in around the intake mani), fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, BOV. And 2 coolant hoses going from the TB, 1 inlet, 1 outlet. The wastegate is actuated by turbo pressure so usually they just connect straight to the turbo unless you have a boost controller.
There is a good chance that the pins from your factory radio connector won't snap into the plug for the aftermarket radio connector (if that's what you're trying to do). It might slide in, but not snap in place. I've always had to buy an adapter.
@@LegitRaceCraft No. Ex: my connector is broken so I remove all the wires and pin then into a whole new connector. Do they have to go in a specific order/holes for it to connect to the aftermarket radio and function properly?
The pins should go in the holes that they belong in. The order that they are put in doesn't matter as long as they all go back into the place they belong.
as far as your TPS, on one end of the 4 pins is a brown wire(ground), on the opposite end of the plug is the 5v tps supply, the wire next to the 5v supply is the tps signal, the one next to the brown wire is the idle switch. You shouldn't need to know all of that for what you are doing, just know that toyota TPS are all mainly the same 4 wire pinouts, swap the pins and leave the wires in the order that they are in.
Hello. Can you help me repin an automatic transmission cables? The initial socket had 13 holes. But that gearbox spoiled and I replaced it with a 10 pins socket. The original has 13 pins and the new transmission box has 10 pins. How do I rewire or reconnect the wires from the 13 previous pins to the 10 ?
My brother, I have a problem at atx_12v1 when I do the leg with each other does not leave the computer and when removed and run the computer works What is the solution
I removed all of the wires that were going to the ECU on mine. I left the rest of the 5sfe harness intact and just removed the wires that I wasn't using. So yes and no, I used the 5s harness, but nothing from the ECU. The aftermarket computer I used came with it's own wire harness, so I made my own custom harness out of that one. If you can find someone on the 6gc.net forums or mr2oc forums that has done a repin of their ECU then that would be the best thing.
well done, well explained, now i understand a little more about my 6 pin harness which i have 4 wires that have no current if i cut the wires &change the connectors do you think it will help with better connection cause i saw my harness full of green corrosion as you would on a battery sprayed wd40 but still only 2 wires have power off n on thanks . like your vid ..
This works for audio headunit connectors right? For example I have to remove 3 wires from a blue quadlock connector and move them to a 32 pin connector.
this will work for any connector as long as the pins are the same type between the two connectors. There are a few different types, as soon as you remove the pins and compare then you should be able to tell if it will work or not.
I cant find a full detailed diagram. But my car runs now only thing is when my TPS is plugged in it shoots up to 3000TPS then shuts off if i unplug it it idles at 4000rpms, any clue what that could be?

yes, you can. But sometimes with how the wires run behind the dash or engine it's easier to just repin the connector so the different ecu (or whatever else) will connect.

When de-pinning a connector use the right tool for the job
Maybe you could post a link to the right tool . Better yet you make a video showing how to do this using the right tool
Would this work for Mitsubishi amp harness for factory amp
You showed us how to De-pin not re-pin. Where do we get the exact kind of pin connectors to crimp?
Can you pin wires in any pin hole when you replace the connector or do they need to go into specific holes for the aftermarket radio??

They are hard to find online. I would try to find a junkyard nearby if I were you. Then cut off its door harness. Use those pins.
