Thank you for the in-depth video. I’m a Taiwanese staying in India for the last 5 years. You really pointed out my frustration of not able to find bread without additives. It’s either the cheap bread leaded with chemical or crazily expensive artisan bread that doesn’t have any label. I just wish there’s some big brand out there that can make a change of it. As for the maida part, I would like to raise a different voice. For the last five years, I was told how bad maida is, and how atta is so much better. Yet, this massive aversion towards maida in India really puzzles me. My staple food: noodles, baos, and (orientalist style) paratha are all made with maida. Even consuming it for years, we people don’t seem any less healthy or live any shorter. In fact, Taiwan is a place where healthy food awareness is given a lot of importance. However, we don’t share the idea of “maida is a big no-no” at all back home. Yes it could be less healthy, maybe just a little less, but it gives way way way more texture to the food which is very emphasized in our cuisine. Whenever I am told how bad maida is, I somehow feel like my food culture is being rejected. just want to give a different point of view here. Hope I’m not offending anyone.
That is an interesting point of view. Another unusual phenomenon is coming up. I am hearing about many cases where people have food intolerance to atta, but not to maida. I cannot find any explanation for this online. Am very interested to know what is behind this.
I am surprised by how well put-together this video is, and also the recent video about fruit juice. Really appreciate that he not only says HOW the bread is made this way, but also WHY this happened, and what put us in this situation. I've always tried to eat bread less often since it has a high glycemic index score, and uses processed flour but now I know more. Sure, this was information presented in a simplified way, but I think that the strength of this video lies in not leaving out important details to the point where simplification increases inaccuracy.

Parents are so confused because kids don't eat anything easily and considering everyone is so busy in their lives, everyone prefers easy options like cerelac, powdered milk etc. however, we don't know how healthy they are for our kids.
Try to make tasty yet simple and healthy meals at home for the whole family. And allow children to help with the cooking so they will enjoy and also learn the cooking process at an early age, which will keep the family health.
please avoid each and every packeted food for kids, even those and especially those being marketed as healthy and essential nutrition etc. It is natural for kids to desire outside food. So, take them to a high-end expensive restaurant once in 1-2 months, which cook their food in desi ghee or butter. And they could have dosa, podi idly, uttapam (tell them it's pizza), poori chhole, aloo tikki, dahi bhalle, rasgulle, chhalli (boiled corn cup), paneer tikka (request the chef not to add color), noodles (request the chef not to add soya sauce, ajinomoto and put lots of minced vegetables). Interesting fact the Portuguese word for bread is "pao" and that is why even today we call bread rolls in India as Pao. Portuguese not only introduced bread to India but to China too where today it is called as Bao. Bao is not pronounced as Bao but as Pao in Mandarin as B is pronounced as P when Mandarin is written in Pinyin or Anglecised script of Mandarin

A wonderful walk through history of bread. Thanks for the deep knowledge. It's for us to decide. In india my sugar was high. In turkey after consuming the traditionally baked bread I was surprised to find my sugar in normal range.
Good video. Sourdough shown by Bajaj contains maida not whole wheat. As a baker, i must say tell you that baking without gluten is an impossible feat. Some bakers, myself included, have experimented with several elements as a natural leavening process. In India, we are trying to emulate Western philosophy despite it being the land of khamiri paav invented by Mughals or the cooking of rotla, roti or even steaming of idlis which is shown to provide good results. I just hope that millions watching your video will make a shift to healthy food. This will also help many small bakers. 🙏

Truly well-researched video! I love bread and struggle to choose the right one but find all have preservatives. Even the pao & burun paos available are baked in bakeries where the workers are not very careful with hygiene and science.
I am mother of a child..I realised long back that during my childhood the bread used to get spoiled when left for one week..now it gets dried and doesn't spoil. So I tried breads from different bakery..one bakery I have found which bakes with yeast and if left unused it spoils.this is how I have tested my bread.
I am a Pakistani though my parents are from Patna, Bihar. In My khala’s place , only chappati is served at breakfast no bread at all. And my cousins are so slim and healthy.

2 years ago, I randomly saw a video on TH-cam which was of Dhruv Bhai, I liked his way of explaining, since then I have been following him, now I do not miss a single video.
I had seen Dr Eric Berg video on why bread is bad for health 1 year ago, since then I have stopped eating bread,I have seen the good effects of that, my weight has decreased from 67 kg to 62 kg, it's a great relief, I feel less bloated and more inthusiastic, you have picked up a correct subject because in India, bread ,especially brown bread, has become very popular.
How about Frozen Roti .. outside India in Europe in few shops there are frozen rotis available from Haldiram.. India's own brand. There is no side effect but not sure how good for health it is

Very good video to create awareness about regular food we eat. You should also do a video about pesticides in fruit and vegetables..once you do your research, you will find it very alarming that fruit and vegetables that we feel are healthy are actually very harmful to our health given the state of pesticides sprayed on them here in India. You will be shocked to hear most farmers nearby delhi, do not consume their own vegetables produced on their own farms meant for commercial sale. They grow their veggies meant for their own consumption on a different small patch of their land.

Wow, simple yet informative. Thank you Dhruv 🙏
This man really thinks about the health and environment for sustainable healthy living.
Always thankful for the information and making us aware about the harmful chemicals.

5:58 The reference of Class X english textbook brings back so many memories
I still remember our teacher teaching us this
It also shows the amount of research Dhruv’s team put in ever video

Hat's off to your brilliant research team and infinite thanks to you too for actually bringing the livelihood in that research, , many many thanks, i am one bread addict person, but this video is an eye opener for me, i am in pune and have already started exploring options for local artisan bread specially sourdough and guess what there are few here I'll be trying out and saying bye to those commercial ones, thanks 🙏 again.
There is bread basket near taarnaka . They sell sourdough.

Love these food series....Sir, please also make a similar video on biscuits, they are also an essential part of our everyday life. I have been eating a lot of biscuits and would like to see a video on them too....
Well done, have you any video on organic foods?,thanks.
Much awaited video on health... thank you bro... Great work 💖💖💗💗
Truly well-researched video!
👍
I am a Pakistani though my parents are from Patna, Bihar.
In My khala’s place , only chappati is served at breakfast no bread at all. And my cousins are so slim and healthy.

2 years ago, I randomly saw a video on TH-cam which was of Dhruv Bhai, I liked his way of explaining, since then I have been following him, now I do not miss a single video.
I had seen Dr
Eric Berg video on why bread is bad for health 1 year ago, since then I have stopped eating bread,I have seen the good effects of that, my weight has decreased from 67 kg to 62 kg, it's a great relief, I feel less bloated and more inthusiastic, you have picked up a correct subject because in India, bread ,especially brown bread, has become very popular.
The conclusion is there is nothing better than whole wheat Roti, Thank you Mr. Rathee
How about Frozen Roti .. outside India in Europe in few shops there are frozen rotis available from Haldiram.. India's own brand. There is no side effect but not sure how good for health it is
Don't forget that there are lots of people with wheat intolerance and wheat allergy. It's a serious issue. Dhruv doesn't seem to be aware of it.
Millets are way nutritious and healthy as compair to grains.
@@KM-leons my father is wheat intolerant, we use separate flour for him ( made up of rice , peas , sorghum, pulses etc) to make rotis , in market there are many companies who sold wheat free flour , u can check them
