Good positional size for sure. Should shoot the ball well both off the catch and off the bounce. I actually wanna see him shoot spot-ups at a higher clip.
I think Carrington and Furphy are going to need a lot of minutes in the GLeague, both are a long way from being considered NBA players. Buzelis and Sheppard make me curious about how their first NBA year could be. Buzelis could possibly benefit from the addition of Giddey to the Bulls, I think they could be a good fit. And Sheppard seems like a puzzling player to me, he doesn't look like much, but he's effective.
Appreciate it as per usual! On Castle, I thought he looked relatively solid in the California Classic. Only played a game in Vegas before his wrist injury unfortunately. It was cool to see the Spurs let him play with the ball in his hands, which didn't happen as much as UConn. I wanna keep seeing more.
Yeah, he played well but he shot 35.7% from the field as a big (no problem in Summer League). The most noteworthy aspect of Clingan's SL experience imo is that he took 3.2 threes a game and made 3/13. If you've followed FLOOR and CEILING for a while, you'll know just how high I've been on Clingan ever since he got to college.
Memphis in general had a handful of guys who played really well. With Jaylen Wells, I think one of the main concerns was probably how much improvement he has left (started off at Sonoma State in D-2) but he shot the lights out at Washington State. In my final big board, I had him as in the "idealistic but actually shaky potential" range, which was in the mid-to-late second next to guys like Nikola Durisic or Ulrich Chomche.
Reed Sheppard is athletic he had the highest vertical lead in the 2024 draft. I don't know people keep saying he is unathletic or has athletic deficits. If a 42-inch vertical is not athletic than what is?
The 42 inch vertical isn’t showing up functionally in game. I’m not saying Reed is unathletic. His hand-eye coordination is incredible, so is his timing. But he undoubtedly has limitations in traffic or against length handling and finishing at times, for example
He played incredibly well, but only 3 games so that's what kinda tilted it towards some of these other guys. Pound for pound, Da Silva was better than Furphy or Buzelis. He'll be good for Orlando.
I thought Knecht ended up having a decent Summer League, but I didn't really come away super impressed while I was watching the Lakers. As you said, it was a rougher context. No real point guard and sort of an unbalanced roster. Lots of guys were forcing the issue, so it kinda stood out when Knecht, Bronny, or Colin Castleton played in the flow of the offense (something I wish Maxwell Lewis had ended up doing more of). But even then, Knecht shot 34.2% from three and 36.7% from the field (6 games). It's a tiny sample size, so I'm not reading too much into it and I remain high on him (especially for the Lakers) but I expected a bit more.
Liked him as a late second round or UDFA out of Miami last draft. Not really sure where he fits with the Clippers despite being very productive. Same question I have about someone like Jalen Wilson, who was also really good in SL. Role is everything.
Another great vid. Excellent content!
Thanks as always!
I like how squared up Bub is on Ihis shot. His telease and jumper is really high too. 6'5 in shoes, that's a nice pg height.

Any thoughts about Stephon Castle's summer league performance? Thanks, as always, for the great content!

I can't believe you didn't have Donovan clinging up there. He's an all-time leader and blocks per game in the summer league 😂😂😂😂

Matas Buzelis has Superstar upside. His handle , size, shot creation, high IQ & defense. If he puts on 20 pounds & works on his jumpshot.
He has to stay in the gym but has what it takes to be real successful in the league
Jaylen wells impressed me the most , i don't know how i missed him pre draft

@FloorandCeiling Did you watch his blocks when he played for Kentucky?
Tristan Da Silva?

No mention on Dalton Knecht scoring 21 PPG on nearly 40% 3 point shooting on a team with no capable PG?
Part 2?
23 years old. like tristan too. u expect that outcome from them against 19-21y guys.

Not a fan of Jordan Miller?

lol reeds “athletic deficits”
They objectively exist.
Awful vid! No Ron Holland? Prolly top 3 best player this draft!
Bullshit
No Kelel Ware?
He'll be featured in my next video.
