Travis had performed at the gala before, but Joe, Trisha, Mark, and Doug are invited to sing on stage. The award is presented by the legendary George Jones. Everything is joy, good vibes, and the best country music. Tanya Tucker and Alan Jackson, the awards hosts, can't stop laughing.

It was definitely a great time to be a traditional country fan! I feel very fortunate to have had my beginnings as a country fan during that time. The downside is I've had to painfully witness the mainstream part of the genre quickly deteriorate in the last 20 years.

What a great lineup! Back when these award shows were actually worth watching. You couldn't go wrong with any of these artists. The early 90's had an endless well of talent and great artists when it came to country, and I miss those times so much.
