- In today's video, I'm talking about how to grow your author platform on Instagram! Social media can be daunting, and I remember being so nervous about Instagram when I first started out! Something about all of the pictures made me so nervous. But building an author platform on Instagram can be so important, especially if that's where your target audience is hanging out!

I have an Instagram that's primarily my artwork related but i mostly draw my OCs now from my stories and want to somehow connect it with my writing, not just art. Trying to figure it out 🤣

Yes I love that you do that!!!! It’s actually one of the things that makes me repeatedly comment on your post because I know I’ll get response from you! Instead of like the bigger authors who pretty much don’t even like your comment unless you are a huge influencer

I'm one of those people who has a business and a personal account. It's easier for me to separate the two.
I totally feel you on that! And they have two separate goals. Not many business accounts post things unrelated to their business, so in my opinion, keeping it separate is just easier!💕💕

Yay, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! As for hashtags, I really picked a few favorite authors of mine or a few of my favorite people on the platform and looked at their hashtags for some variety. Or I searched up a random hashtag, like “Authorsofinstagram“ and looked to see what else people used with that hashtag. It helped me build up a pretty nice list!

I am! I'm still trying to figure out my schedule, though, so that there's a bit more of a variety, because I know there's actually a few people who can't make it to the Wednesday ones!
