I'm not as familiar with smt, what are the fiends a reference to (in terms of past games, is it smt 3)? The only other context I have for them is them appearing on persona 5.

Yes, they're referring to events in SMT3
Mother Harlot references the protagonist ( Demi-fiend ) in their dialogue

The fiends have been around since SMT, but this set is a reference to SMTIII Nocturne Maniax

The Fiends, Demi-fiend and maybe Lucifer come from the universe of SMT III in this game. Lucifer is inconsistent.

No it's definitely still Keith Silverstein, Atlus West just turned the Fiend voice filter up to 11 for some reason

Matador's voice actor was the same dude that voiced Shido in Persona 5 and Tatsuya in Persona 2
I'm a bit disappointed, I loved how he voiced Matador and over-acted, really fit the character

Daisoujou, Hell Biker, and Mother Harlot sound the same. Matador definitely is not the same. Not sure about the Riders and Trumpeter.
