I got the iPad mini, and I’m absolutely loving it. The upgrade is well worth the price, especially with the increased RAM, faster USB transfer, and support for the new Apple Pencil. I’d choose the Mini over a foldable any day, since there’s no fragile hardware to worry about and no visible crease-just one sleek, lightweight piece of glass that’s barely noticeable.
@@zurielsssDidn't the Mini 6 came out on 2020 or something? I thought for sure there would be some more meaningful upgrade considering that amount of time.
😂 cause you just surf the net, social media and TH-cam. Hence no need to upgrade. iPad are decent devices to learn to program to research. If you use it for those uses to uplift yourself knowledge wise and get work done, the mini isn’t for you. And mini 6 is not good enough for modern 2024 computing power. And the mini 6 came out 2021 it’s obsolete already computing power wise. You made the worst decision to buy it last year.
@@mr.j5112 your mini 6 is probably still doing what it’s supposed to do and the new 7 doesn’t offer much of an upgrade to be worth the price. My mini 5 is also fine, it’s just that the 64 Gb is a bit small and I am thus considering an upgrade , or maybe I should delete some apps
I been using the iPad mini since mini 2. It’s perfect for traveling and being light for backpack while being productive in all sorts of ways. It was a must buy for business and work projects
I really like it. I wasn’t expecting to.. but being able to one hand it anywhere is a game changer. Not to clunky and big enough to see everything… wish they could make phones this size because it’s perfect.
Double the RAM, double the storage, much faster performance and faster USB C, Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E, with improved document scanning and Smart HDR 4. I would say it’s a great upgrade. Apple Intelligence with 18.2, coming in December will already shape up to be a big upgrade. My wish is for an iPad Mini Pro. Enough said.
As an artist, my iPad Pro is my main content creation device, but I always grab my iPad mini when I really wanna travel light. It’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go. It really compliments my iPad Pro well. I am upgrading to the iPad mini 7 for the faster chip, double the ram & apple pencil pro support. It will serve me well over the next few years. My wish list for the iPad mini 8 in three years? 🤔 An OLED screen with 1,000 nits of brightness, thinner bezels & face ID. Hey, a guy can dream! 😂

I bought the 7. I just felt ripped off needing to upgrade my pencil also. Returned it to Apple, and purchased a used pink iPad mini 6, cellular for £330 and I still get to use my Pencil 2nd Gen. I’m not fussed about Apple AI, if I need to use a feature, I’ll use my phone or Mac. Saved £300 and I’m very happy with the 6th gen for note taking, video watching and web browsing
I bought the iPad mini (A17 Pro) because my iPad mini (6th generation) had quality control issues twice. Both of them died nine months after usage as the iPad was unable to boot into iPadOS. Also, 4 GB of RAM was a huge pain since I am a heavy multitasker. The extra RAM has been beneficial so far.
I think I saw the pencil pro for sale real cheap plus there is open box deals at Best Buy, the new iPad mini is also pretty cheap at Costco for Black Friday
I bought one as an upgrade from a mini 4. I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
It’s not about the lack of m4 chip it goes beyond that. most complain for a valid reason for the price we should’ve got at least OLED on it especially since Apple barely does any upgrades to it
@ As soon as I heard the mini 7 was being released, I bought an Apple Folio Case from eBay. Paid 25.00 brand new and box fresh. Check there before the vendors wise up!
Need to secure pen via folding flap - my go to case is the cheap $15 ESR case w/thin folding flap which folds over the pen & magnet, attaches to back securing pen to the iPad - by far the best case. I’ve used it for years with my Mini and Pros.
I just bought the m2 air 11” today for $499($100 off). I got the m2 because it’s a better device and the same price as the mini. BUT, I’m exchanging it for the mini 7 tomorrow. I use my tablet in bed and this thing is wayyy too big.
Hey Canoopsy, your review of the iPad Mini 7 was fantastic! You highlighted all the key features that make it stand out. I’d love to discuss how my agency can help you with brand partnerships while you keep creating awesome content!
I have the new base model ipad mini 7, traded in my mini 6 for £190. No hassle very pleased and no complaints. It’ s a no brainer, love my new Apple……😊👍
Those updates would be cool and all, but an OLED screen would increase the price, I don’t think most people would want that. The bezels are there to help with unwanted touching of the screen… you need somewhere to place your hands. If OLED is so important, gotta bite the bullet and buy the iPad Pro. OLED is ok. Some things look better on OLED screens, and some people prefer LCD. I have both an iPad Pro and the mini 7 and I mostly consume entertainment on my mini. It feels better and you honestly don’t notice the screen difference unless you’re watching it next to an OLED iPad.
Still rocking my Mini 6. No reason to upgrade for me at this point. Like you, this is my go to device unless I need to use my iPad Pro for more screen and processing power. Actually use my Mini more than my phone most days.
Love watching these videos. Certainly help me with purchases. I sold my iPad Pro 11 inch m1 as I just didn’t feel a got the use out of it. Got an iPhone 15 pro max in which I use and was happy with the bigger screen. I feel I need a second device to use but need portability really. I have an old iPad 8th gen which I use a bit. Would this mini 7 be the one to go for, or should I buy an air. Just normal consumer usage too….
Yes I have a large phone but I still find the mini 7 screen so much more useful and stuff is a lot bigger easier to thumb type in portrait. Get it from a store with return policy and try it out you’ll know pretty quick if you like it.
To me, even with an LCD screen, even a 90hz screen would’ve made the mini 7 a home run buy. 60hz is passable for most, but for a techy like myself, it’s just not up to par anymore. That said, I still bought a mini 7 lol
A generic temu pencil for a tenth of the apple pencil price also works but no barrel roll but on the plus side it comes in colours not just boring apple pencil white
Well, I think that there’s no huge new or changed features since it’s the sole purpose of iPad mini, it’s got all its own everything it needs to be an ipad mini, I would hate it if they changed so much of it’s size and design. Since the portability and it’s cuteness and versatility is it’s main core.
this is a great video, great review, not-biased, love it! hoping for a day in the life with the iPad Mini 7 next… i’m hoping since the mini 6, but i’m really hoping we get one for the mini 7

@rvmisa1 that’s really odd, the ipad pro from 2018 has it, maybe it’s because the screen is smaller. even then they could have just limited the amount of windows by a little bit
I have the 6th gen mini and the iPad Air M2 and I don’t think you can really say one is better than the other because they’re very good at different things. Obviously the M2 is more powerful, but it’s also a bigger device which isn’t always a good thing

I’m sorry, but for $500, I can get a really good refurbished iPad PRO 11. And that’s what I did! I bought a iPad PRO 11 ( 2018 ) that works perfectly. I paid $379! It is a bit outdated with the A12X chip, but, I just put iPad OS 18.1 on it. Once you have a PRO tablet, 120hz display and faceID, I’d rather invest in a refurbished iPad 😎👍
I’m wanting this device and I’m even considering trading in my iPad Pro 11” 256gb M2 for the base model. I only use Facebook, banking, watching TH-cam and read magazines (readily). If I but from the Apple Store with the trade in I can try for 14 days and hold on to my pro whilst I decide if I’ve done the right thing. I can return my pro or take back the mini for a full refund.
Just bought my Mini 7. Upgrade from mini 6. All I can say is that unless you use really power heavy apps it’s not necessary. I’ve had them side by side and tested to open many different standard apps and there is no difference in time. Only time it differs is when you open something really heavy like Jeppesen charts (flying) or atlas apps etc. So unless you really know you need that new A17 pro it’s not worth upgrading from 6 to 7. Screen is the same, size is the same etc. Also you need to buy a new pencil pro if you use the pencil. Annoying.
