My first ever Ubers was on a sorc. A loooong time ago lol. Think I was a blizzard build. I got fairly far, only meph was left and I died so many times that I called for help from a friend who had a smiter lol. I just couldn’t deal with meph’s conviction. I’d go from full health to dead. Getting 1 shotted. I tried getting him stuck in the house, I tried Merc… nothing worked. I just didn’t have enough res. It ended up being a spec torch tho so I was happy in the end lol
How long ago? Like D2R or D2 LOD? Even with a cold sunder now, its hard to do with Blizzard after they changed how CM works. ES is pretty key for Ubers with a sorc. or some type of elemental absorb to help keep your life up.
My first uber try with blizz sorc and complete fail, I just lost my first set of keys cause I was not even able to recover my gear. I got Matron's Den as the first one, mobs were easy to deal with. But then I met Lilith, she one shot my merc and then two shot me. Poison nova was not problem, I have max res and approx 1100 HP, but her melee attack and insane speed was impossible to deal with. I did not even had a chance to cast blizzard on her lol, and I was dead in a second.
Sorry to hear that. You need to go in well prepared for the mechanics of ubers. Having a merc that can cast decrep will help with your merc survival. Blizzard isn't recommended anymore after they changed how CM works after sundered.
anni is totally doable on a sorc without any fancy gear, just need to use a merc with poison or prevent monster heal and blizzard does plenty of damage

Seems the key things are: Merc can't die Merc needs CBF or none of it's effects will be applied Merc needs to have source of slows target Merc needs source of open wounds Lower res is supplemental CB is supplemental In other words I can maybe do this with a bare minimum of Kelpie Snare socketed with an Um and having CBF somewhere. This opens up a bit of my options but I think what I have in mind will work. CBF missing for my merc made me even trying a dumb idea. Ooops Just a note I'm only aiming for ability to kill the minis. My setup does not intended to go into Uber Tristram. Although maybe it can. I'll be finding out soon enough.
Ubers do take some practice and confidence. Its really not that hard once you figure it out, and most people will tell you that. But as for any Melee char, you need CBF somewhere. So getting it from Eternity on the weapon, freed up trying to get it from somewhere else. And yes, if the merc is frozen, he will most likely die.

Still what you said stands. Woestave puts things to sleep and does indeed come with 50% open wounds but I'm gonna have to stick with Kelpie and an Um socketed into it instead. Kira's is a great option for CBF and would certainly add to his resistances(if needed). It also would be cheaper to acquire than a Cham rune which keeps with my idea of thus being "cheap". Mind you my plan also only involves soloing the minis. I am not going into Uber Tristram and expecting to get that done. That being said an Um in the Kelpie Snare is the same amount of open wounds ran in the example shown in the video. I feel semi confident it should work. Also yes, agreed the merc will need CBF. In the example shown here 33% slows target and 20% slows target are being used which would out the monster at 53.6% of it's normal movement speed. Since it doesn't stack it's not slowing for 53% which would leave them moving at 47% of normal movement speed. Not much of a difference but a difference all the same.

I want this to be "cheap". The Kelpie Snare isn't anything gg like 180% ED Eth and upped. Woestave would make this cheaper if my plan works. Saves an Um rune. If my plan does work I think Woestave would also work. It's just not what I intended when I started thinking about doing this after seeing Smalps' short on Cold Steel Eye. Obviously he would be using an Act 5 merc. I wanted to try while keeping my Act 2 prayer merc(not changing him). On my Cold Sorc specifically. That left me with Razortine, Woestave, Kelpie Snare and Blackhorn's Face for cheap options that could provide slows target to an Act 2 merc. I assessed Razortine and Woestave to be too low damage. Although a good point to bring up is how little damage I would be relying on coming from the merc in the first place which seems to be close to 0. In such case Woestave should be perfectly fine and again I believe it should work only a little less well than a Kelpie with an Um. Unless of course having 50% open wounds is far far far better than 25% I don't see a reason to go with the naturally lower damage option. Counter intuitive as that may seem since he doesn't even life leech nor provide a noteworthy amount of damage. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm rethinking this a little but I'm kinda in love with Kelpie Snare being the "star" of my show. I had both Woestave and Kelpie Snare and I tried both on one of my test runs but I was ill prepared. Merc forgot he needed CBF(yes I'm blaming him). I will be retesting again with above mentioned gear(Kelpie, Shaftstop and kira's) and I will absolutely try Woestave out again to rule out the expense of Um being socketed into a Kelpie Snare. ...now if only I didn't sell both of them to a vendor because a polearm and spear were taking up too much space on my damn char... I should have made a mule...but, I didn't... Alas I'll just have to wait until I can get them from the marketplace to test with.
Ive used eternity on a wirlwind and a frenzy brarb the w.w was ww item find for trav. It worked nice never used it on ladder but n.l its decent in a p.b
Reapers toll and/or lawbringer helps to slow the bosses down, but only to help the survival of your merc. It also allows your merc to do a little more dmg. But that doesn’t really benefit the sorc in anyway. This strategy was to use plague to proc lower resistance, since we have no infinity merc. Since you can only have one curse at a time, we don’t want a decrep proc to mess with lower resist.
There's a glitch on my Switch Diablo Ii Resurrected. I can only pick up 7 Hate Keys and no more. Traded 3, used 1, have 3 left. Defeated The Summoner more than 300 times, and he doesn't drop anymore keys
I don’t know if its a glitch or not, but I went through a crazy dry spell which seemed like something more than just bad luck. It was like that as well, 100s of runs and no H keys. I assume you can farm the others and trade. Key drop is about 1/13 but you can increase your odds with players count.
Yes it did interfere with duriel and baal. Seemed as though once they were slowed it took a while to proc lower res. Other times it happened right away. Almost as if I should have teleported around a bit to let the merc get hit first. But it wasn’t about speed. It was just about doing it safely and it was pretty safe.
Maxed TK will consume less mana per dmg. So you won’t take as much mana dmg. ES isn’t maxed because it hits level 40 when I buff up. You only need to hit level 40 for max of 95% absorb
is this setup full tals and act 2 merc with prayer and insight+fortitude and andariel s visage viable for hell farming? pls help i really wanna try , i only have a sunder no infinity

Doing it with an act 5 merc and without infinity actually makes it easier. Far more tanky and Infinity won't make much of a difference anyway working at a fifth of its usual effectiveness and wouldnt work at all on Mephisto with his conviction cancelling yours out.
Infinity works at 100% not 1/5th effectiveness vs all uber bosses except Mephisto. Which infinity’s conviction does not work at all. But when you break his light immunity with a sunder, your -ELR takes full effect from your gear.
@@markblackburn2343 you are getting confused. Conviction will only be 1/5th when an immunity is broken. There is no lightning immunity to break for Izzy, duriel, Lilith, diablo or baal. The only uber immune to lightning is mephisto. So you need the sunder. And conviction doesn’t work vs meph anyway. For any other light immune monster, sunder breaks it, then conviction works at 1/5th, so -17 is applied.

I saw you mention elgato for recording in th-cam.com/video/NReKSX9nsjg/w-d-xo.html, does it come into play somehow? I tried switch version of d2r on ryujinx emulator and while there were 60fps "cheats", they were only for super old versions

Try using the bone prison charges from marrowwalk to root the ubers and then blizz them to shit.

Instead of Kelpie, I would suggest Woestave which gives the max 50% slow target and in addition 50% open wounds. Kiras or cham-ed helm for CBF.

Low res charge wand for Durial due to his cold and slow would make a difference. Does the merc's slow target interfere with low res procing much ?

Yes it would work with that setup. But missing infinity on the merc is missing a lot of dmg because of conviction. It will be slower but doable.

Eternity in this build is almost as expensive. Ber and Sur 😂 but another option vs Eternity is Coldsteel Eye.
It's funny because he's not using infinity but using plague which is arguably harder to get I've never seen a cham but have found plenty of ber runes.

So this is on PS5 actually. That is how I get the higher res and 60 FPS. on Switch its only 30 FPS.
