Never can't do lower kurast on P8, super chests have better drop on P3,P5,P7, and generally chance for more items is on P3,P5,P7. P8 have only better chance on drop, but dont have chance for more items with mob/chest.
in this vid what player difficulity are u on? 5 or 7 player? which means offline D2R ?
I did 100+ Chaos, no hrs, then did an icy cellar and found a jah. They just come out of nowhere when you least expect it

I gotta say the "At some point luck is no longer a factor" part is so true. I was overdue for a Ber rune . Had done like 500-1000 trav runs and not even an Ist. But I knew and kept telling my friends on discord any hour now. Then Ber rune dropped.

Silospen, greatest web browser odds calculator for D2 monster drop chances, I recommend Tal's Tombs over Arcane any day, more chests, actual ground, and the specters have a slightly better drop rate than the ones in arcane. You are right, CLEAR SPEED IS KING, my sorc I always have my mf gear and murder gear, generally mf gear loses a bit of DPS while maintaining a reasonable clear speed with at least 250-450 mf. Murder sorc can clear areas so much faster with less worry of dying, while you wont see those rares and uniques as often, you will see some great bases that if roll well enough can net them HR's faster than any amount of shakos you find lol. Great stuff buddy!

Thats the rune hunter video!!! Next time someone asks me where to find Ber runes ill just point them here. All the info is rock solid! And yes i cant agree more that at a point luck falls off, statistically speaking that is! If you farm those areas quick and consistent you will drop HR`s! But the most important factor is the time you invest in farming! And never forget to have a key in you stash, chests are truly worth opening! Great video! Thank you & keep it up! :)

Great video! This is getting me hyped for the new season! I am glad you put kill speed as number one-it really makes all the difference. I see that you’ve had luck in cows but man I despise cows for hrs. The highest I’ve found there was an ohm, never found anything above ohm. And what a shocking ber chest drop, nice stuff!

Cows has always been best for HRs for me. Especially at the start of a new season, it’s super cheap to make a LF Javazon and just rip through cows.

Your so right on the kill speed of mobs. im running a dual Dream Lightning nova sorc with crescent moon, i made an infinity for my merch but i found out its better to have insight. Now i can only play like 2-3hrs a day some days even less, and with that tesla aura i can jump into any of the areas you showed here and mostly oneshot the whole screen with one static field and a nova on the elite packs, i take flayer jungle + flayer dungeon (my favorite area) Pit, Chaos Sanctuary, all the tombs(especially when they are terrorized) ive found 17 Hr's the last 2 weeks of playing. Note : sometimes i do cows with my friend and hes a javazone(i mostly geared his character up with all my finds haha) so i do get a bump in drops there :D love your videos they helps me with alot of builds on my sorc :D

Great video (as always)! I've done 2000 Trav runs with wwb on single p1, got 1 Jah, 1 Sur and 2 Ohm. It's always luck involved but as long as you farm consistently, the odds of not finding any HR should be pretty low~
Great insight and editing as always :) that's what i tell my friends also: FAST KILLING, AoE, and lots of patience unfortunately. In the end you still need some luck, but not as much as some of you guys think. I got 2 ber in 3hour play one day, but that's just some matrix error.

I found a Zod Rune last Sunday when I was farming Ancient Tunnels with my Blizz Sorc. Worth to mention that AT is a really good place too.
But anyway, very nice video.

100% always hit up poppables. The locked chest drop rate for runes is so high.
MY current set up is blizz sorc and I'm running pindle (for griffons), Nith (for keys and hrs), then I go to LK, pop chest, trav, (pop chest), and meph (pop chest on my way there). ;P ! So far no results except a triple D key drop from Nith about 1 hour play so not to shabbadoo :P !

this is a good example of the difference between statistical chance and probability - the more runs you do the higher the probability that something decent will drop whilst the statistical chance remains constant.
I run tals tomb all the time. The best way to clear it is with a max amplify damage max corpse explode necro with teleport. Put the rest of your points into powering bone spear to get that first kill. Curse the entire room then demolish the room instantly with corpse explode.
The game is weird.
One can go 3 weeks with no HRS, but then 2 Ohms and a Ber drop within 10min time...
Never loved MFing myself, but grinding impossible runes and exp is something I like. And now even I got the video per my preferences, thank you! Love some statistical details edited in, that helps. Great work as per usual!

I started playing a couple hours a day on my HC single player Sorc, just doing tomb runs. Over the past week I've found
2x Ist runes
3x Um runes
1x Sur rune
SOJ
+1 cold skills GC with 12% FHR
Among a few other things. Honestly you don't have to go super hard every session. Throw on a podcast or a video you like, movie, whatever, and just play. Don't think about it too much. As a result of this I'm just one Ohm rune away from having a CTA. An Ohm will get me a CTA and a Vex will get me a HOTO. Super excited because I haven't had any solid high level gear like that on single player, let alone hardcore.
Add a Jah rune to the list. Now there's so many different runes that can drop that will get me a high level rune word. So damn close I can taste it.

Nice video! My fav farming place is Travincal, than i go thru durances for Mephisto. Found 1 Lo and 1 vex in durance of hate a fev days ago..
I've found every rune in D2R, twice or more, except Ber and Sur, of which I have found zero.
I've found 2 Zod, 2 Cham, and 2 Jah in Nith temples. It's my highest HR zone, but also the one that I've farmed the most because of initial success, so there could be confirmation bias at play. The density of trash mobs is really good down there.
I found a Zod Rune from a hanging skeleton in The Furnace of Pain once, so those areas are worth clearing when you're doing your organ runs!
Great advise, nothin really new but always fun to watch. Don’t know but I did hundreds of cow runs and didn’t find any high rune in S2. Highest rune was in Trav with LO and two Chams randomly dropped

Nice finds and great advice. I've actually found a Jah rune in Arcane Sanctuary about a month ago. I've finally rolled my Enigma MP for my tele zerk Barb. Just need to level up the Barb more so the mercenary can use the gear i want it to wear. I might start more mf runs over the weekend. But I've been key farming mostly as I am dedicated to keep farming torches until I find what I'm looking for.

1. Will there be sander charms in the single player later, or will it only be a battle net feature?
2. The necromancer has the ability to corps explosion, deals damage 50/50 where 50 of them are fire, if you take, for example, a monarch, or a hat with sockets, and insert facets there to resist fire, will it work, or will more damage be done?
Hey & thanks ! 1/ no sadly 2/ CE does 50/50 fire/phys so yes it will deal more fire dmg with facets.
Sunder Charms are coming to Single Player/Offline in 2.6, if I'm understanding the patch notes correctly.

Definitely suggest Cows, LK (singleplayer for /players), and Trav. So far I've made 2 Hoto's, 1 CoH, 1 BotD, 1 Fort, 1 CtA and Enigma on singleplayer just from farms those areas.

I was incredibly lucky, found a vex and a sur rune on a single playthrough, on my first character in the newest ladder season.
Not the most useful runes to get, but the hoto was a great start, and traded the sur for a few things to start the wealth flow
This happens, I found cham and vex in same pit run once and the other time it was double ist)
I've had amazing luck in Lower Kurast in games with other people. Opening stuff.

I once found a Cham, ber and ohm all within about 5 minutes of each other while key farming in arcane sanctuary
6:26 This right here. On release i placed camp at Meph with my Blizz sorc on Bnet just farming that guy + the elites in the boss room. At around 5k runs i had basicly founded my own Light sorc from that room alone. 3 Bers, 2 Lo and Griffons!!! also funny enough 5k runs no Shako.
I started farming Pits way more recently, and it has paid off. Have found several grail items that I've never seen drop.
Also...when doing Throne of Destruction... CLEAR the side alleys!! Usually multiple champions and good density. I have found Deaths Fathom, 2 Sur and a Jah within the last couple weeks solo. I feel like it's a grossly overlooked spot.
SIde alleys, I always do it too, nice job with df & hr's !
I would also add Tal Rasha's Tombs. Insane density and probably a top 3 terror zone.

I thought I read 1200 runs, I was like dam, then I saw the extra 0 and then I was like, daaaaam! Now that's dedication! 58 HR in 1200, that would of been really impressive, but 12000 runs, regardless of the HR count, that shit is even more impressive to me. Insane dude.

Just started a light trapper do do cows and such. (lv 45)........Do you think it would be better to reroll a light nova sorc or javazon? I've never really found a decent amount of high runes, and I wanna try my shot at it.
I found 2 hrs farming Nihalak temple with kicksin. Good area too.

I started playing December 19th. So far I have found Cham, 2 Jah, Ber, Sur(Today), Ohm, Vex, Gul, 3 Ist(1 Today), 2 Mal.

I have never seen a high rune drop in arcane, but Summoner likes to drop me a Lem or Pul sometimes.
Most of my Runes I trade stuff for, like 15ed armors and weapons and uniques

In LK runs my best rune was Sur. Ber in cows and Jah in WsK and Chaos runs. Also I joined a MF game with 4+ ppl and run Shenk, after I kill it I found a Ber rune where a catapult was. Is just luck until you consistently farm and farm and farm. To be successful in this game you need to play 28 hrs per day;)

The best advice is play more often. I've found my first JAH doing the act III quest in spider cavern.
Im curious if farming alone players 3/5/7 supposed to effect drop rate on Trash and Act Bosses and Keys. EXP changes at players 2/4/6/8. But you say that High Runes are the exception and Players 8 is best or is that only on chests? and if so is that normal chests only or normal and super chests?
ahh one more thing - best areas for HR: travincal BY FAR, later CS, pit, baal area, arcane sanctuary (ghosts for hr, got jah and ber on just last ladder), nihlathak levels.

You pretty much covered all there is to say about finding runes. Most important is speed - this goes for everything (runs, kills, opening chests) and cannot be emphasized enough. Getting to players 3 will also boost chances greatly and most builds can farm it without sacrificing a lot of speed.
I probably had something around 80-90 HRs in total if we count Vex and above. A ton of p3/p5 pit runs on Necro, everywhere with Sorc, some p7 Chaos on Pally. And an obscene amount of pit runs with a Zerker.
Trav hasn't been very good to me. P7 CS was by far the most efficient, Arcane was good too but I didn't do that many runs. I had maybe 10% of my HRs come from popables.

What buildwould you recommend for ladder start? Would frost nova sorc work on budget gear for cows ?
Hey, for sure ! start with some meph/andy runs until you have enough gear for cow runs

But where’s the middle factor. Right now I’m in act 3 hell mode. And I can’t take out the travs at the end. I got a lightning sorc build. And I see a lot of lightening resists.
Lower Kurast is great but if you can make a high level strongly geared nova lightning sorc then really fast runs of the Arcane Sanctuary bothering only with large ghost groups - is very good for high runes.
Yeah, I was getting tired of countess and LK runs. Countess did drop 1 IST, 1 MAL and 2 PUL runes. But LK, I got nothing more than 4 LUM runes for more than 200 runs. Switched to Arcane Sanctuary just purely out of boredom and 2 JAH runes drop on the same day!
Difficulty v reward for me it’s river/chaos. Great density and straight forward (no souls or cows). End game I’d agree cows but arguably best results were in RF/chaos in the video

I play LoD since October, 3-4 hours a day 4 days a week, I've got Jah, Ber, Cham, 3 Lo, about 4-5 Ohm and Vex and, so... Just kill as much mobs as fast as you can)
Is opening chest really worth your time? Yes they can drop high runes but it is time consuming, you could maybe kill 50%+ more monsters without dealing with chests and vases.
vases no but chest yes, i found few hr's from popables (sarcophagus too) & with telekinesis it's quickly done
Does player count affect rune drops?
can budget (fresh first char of season) go nova, or should i go blizz and mote trick meph / pindle for a week to get some gear before switching nova?
Hey, yes blizz moat trick (i'd skip pindle & just do meph/andy) that until you got 105fcr & few decent items to switch for nova

The take away here is, open chests, and kill boss packs.
Trav, cows, and chaos sanc have been great zones for general farming. Pit runs, ancient tunnels, etc are best for specialized mf builds.
Oh, and play more as no matter what it's just luck and tiny fractions of a percent to get any drops.
I feel one of the biggest mistakes people do is to not kill stuff while going to the "farm areas". I've found 12 Lo's going to Ancient Tunnels.
True, it depends the area tho. I like to clean big pack at rocky waste for exemple while i make my way to stony tomb

Ancients way or glacial trail when spawned with skellies and ghosts is the bis farm for HRs in the game. Always worth checking to see what mobs are there. Trav is a complete waste of time even with a horker. I'm also no fan of arcane sanctuary. It's cows and act 5 ghosts for me.

Last ladder I built a 14K damage 125 fcr unkillable hammerdin and solo farmed public P8 games to level 95 with 0 HR drops
This ladder I got an 8K damage blizz sorc and spammed MF runs for a month with only 1 HR drop
Kill speed is usually the only metric to really consider, but RNJesus screwing you over happens too.
Solo farming to 95 in p8 isn't really that many games, and im betting your kill/min wasn't very high either
lvl95 without any HR is quite unlucky. I bet S3 will be generous with you, gl
This ladder season I did 1600 trav runs and found 1 cham, 1 jah, 3 ber and 1 vex. Travs ftw

currently I have found 2 IST's and 1 BER 1 CHAM 2 SUR as well..Still searching for a VEX and JAH

I always go for river of flame and chaos speed runs. Nearly 0 mf, just trying to kill fast. One time I did 200 runs in 1 day and found Jah, 2x Ohns, 1 ist and of course arach mesh belt and tombreaver weapon
By the way: i got griffon on ladder in travincal :) i got it from low lvl boss next to waypoint there :)
I know that travincal drops up to cham, but I got a Zod from an unique heirophant in travincal, and I don't know exactly why.
It was in d2r, before season 1 with a barb (I don't know if it was by killing him or with find item)
Area level is the main thing but the uniques are like 3 monster lvls higher than all the other packs maybe that's why
In 20 years I've found three high runes. A Ber, a Cham, and a Vex.
