I like the old style typical Northern Ireland chest rig the Brits used to wear, Molle vests can be highly customized as per mission needs and individual pouches can be replaced as they wear out. I am currently trying out the British desert dpm assault vest/waste coat that comes with a concealed 9mm pistol holster and magazine pocket.
$200 rig from Haley, or $70 rig from Spiritus...
My hobby/paranoid fantasy has a budget.
Lul Lipop the spiritus is 70 BUT that doesn't cover straps, mag inserts or anything besides the actual chest rig portion. I just bought mine last week and ended up dropping about $140.
HSP runs sales all the time as well. They had a multi cam black sale and it was 140-150 I think.
Check forums for used gear for sale and trade and you can find some mint shit people ended up never using

hey brother just wanted to let you know I was playing around with the Mayflower chest rig and the Kiwi inserts. I cut the kiwis down about a quarter from the top on both sides and put the insert underneath the flaps in the mag pockets and found that the magpul G2 mags work perfectly. The G3 mags gets caught up on that over insertion lip but USGI and Magpul Gen 2s work great sure you know that but give the Kiwi inserts a try it has really good retention been happy with it so far keep up the good work man!

So hypothetically, if I wanted to carry 800 rounds of .308 in SR25 20-25 round mags, which mags and mag pouch do you recommend. No plate carriers, just loads of mag pouches. Hypothetically speaking of course

Wear seven voodoo rigs
I’ve got a PIG rig from SKD Tactical, all pouches are sewn on. When I co-opt the radio pouches for mags, I can carry 8 AR mags plus 4 pistol mags very close to the body with just enough room for a molle IFAK and nods pouch on either side. Works perfectly well for my purposes.

I prefer a minimalist set up. AR500 micro, level 3+ plates, hsgi tacos/gcode scorpions with knife in front,radio and water bladder in rear. Light and fast.

I used to dip a lot in my old Jeep and I had old spit bottles strewn throughout. One of my buddies almost took a sip of one until he noticed the minty smell from that Gatorade bottle. I was too busy driving to warn him lol.
Other times I’ve drank from my own spit bottles multiple times. Sometimes you grab the wrong bottle while driving. I don’t recommend dipping while driving, it’s distracting when you have to spit, unless your buddy holds the bottle for you.
For civs, use the condor recon chest rig. Low profile. Fits 6 ar mags and 6-7 pistol mags and has a ton of pouches.

Just got my spiritus and I have to agree, its great for user configuration. I like to go from my MPX to my AR to my AK, and all I have to do is swap the insert up front to do this. I had the gen 1 Haley rig and hated it. The H-harness doesnt fit me well and the shoulder straps would always slide off and make me look like I was trying to be seductive. The stuff-it pouch also had a tendency to snag pins from grenades...
Don't forget to mention for the spiritus MKIV what you have or MKV they can hook up to the Thing 2 chest rig. It is a phenomenal set up. Allowing 152, MBITR etc to fit in snug behind the front mag rack. There is also side molle for accessory pouches.

i use a rig based on the rhodesian rig.it's set up on the molle system.you can configure it to your liking with what ever molle pouches you like.

I started wearing a chest rig over my vest half way through deployment when I realized if I ever had to pull the emergency cord on my iotv I wouldn’t have anything on my person if you do wear over a vest with cord don’t make chest rig super tight or if you pull cord it won’t fall off

I like to have them separate just so I can train with my actual setup without having the plate carrier on. I can throw a chest rig on and have my same load out without the extra weight and what not. Especially going to a civilian range you get a lot of looks running a plate carrier. Lol
If you're preparing to fight but you're too mentally weak to put yourself through the stress of training with that extra weight you're going to get absolutely bested ten time out of ten by a man who trains with that extra weight

talking chest rigs you should mention the TT Combi Rig QR. This one can be used as a carrying rig, with a front plate, with side plates AND combined with the specific backpack to use a back plate aswell. it is way ahead most of the other rigs imho

I accidentally got a flat pack with my D3 and I attached it instead of the x-rig, its a lot more comfortable and fits most bodies much better.
Love my original d3cr, I just can't justify spending $40 for some simple plastic inserts.
