  • On the eve of the millennium, Oscar-winning screenwriter and author of ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ Frederic Raphael embarks on four remarkable pilgrimages, seeking to answer the fundamental questions concerning God, religion, dogma and the modern world. He begins his search in time-honoured detective-show style: by visiting God’s last known address. From Jerusalem he seeks out Buddhism and Islam in Asia, Catholicism in Spain and finally Puritanism and fundamentalist extremes in the USA.

The Buddha was the Tathagata, the first arahant, the perfectly enlightened one. He taught the world the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, amongst many other important and necessary factors of this universe we live in on our way towards nibbana.
This Buddha was this era’s light in the world showing us the way out of the endless cycles of suffering through samsara.

If Buddha was enlightened, he would have known that Jesus Christ was coming to save the world from their sins and not been deceived. The Bible says there's a way that seems right into men and death and judgment follow.

Those who made this film should study the similarities between Buddhism and Christianity. 5th B.C. is the life of Buddha, 3rd B.C. a guy named Alexander the Great established the route between Eastern Europe and India. In between there is Israel. Christianity is the child between Judaism and Buddhism.

If one is to explain Thailand Buddhism , then Bangkok is not the place to start or end. My Thai wife is a devout Buddhist and myself an entrenched Atheist , but there's no conflict of interests. I once asked her what does she get out of paying homage to a lump of concrete , her answer explained everything , its good for me. Living in rural N.E.Thailand as I do and only have a few expat friends and with Covid scaring the shit out of everyone see them rarely. Because my wife does a lot for the Temple , an extremely important Wat at that , she is well in with the Head Monk. I was invited to have an audience with him along with my wife and two lady friends. I sat on a chair listening to him bellyaching about something, and the oldest of the ladies was answering him back. I said to my wife, you told me that women mustn't speak to the Monk , Oh she said the old girl could as that's her Nephew . Have visited numerous Temples and newer ones are trying to outdo others regarding design innovation , but in some ways a con , as many of the construction components are prefabricated . A couple of years ago the area suffered bad flooding when a large lake burst its banks , water in some isolated villages over roof top height . The Temples response was immediate , kitchens set up and hoards of volunteers cooking and packing food for the Army to deliver , But most impressed me was the convoys of lorries arriving from Bangkok a mere 650 km away loaded with food clothes and blankets etc all donated by other Temples.

The Buddha in one of his many discourses spoke about some powerful Gods/Kings of deities resided in certain blissful, refined-form heavens, out of egotistical conceit, ignorance of who they truly are, and an urge to be worshipped, hallucinated and proclaimed to all that they were indeed the "Creator and Supreme Father of heavens and earth", and that the many heavenly beings who happened to be born after him believe in such a fantasy and later came down to earth to expound such a belief. The Buddha says the creating force of this composite body and mind comes from the collective volitional intent of all living beings as a whole in accord with natural laws. Never is there a 'personified' supernatural being who can do all this.

The title of this documentary is misleading, and the point of the documentary kept changing throughout. At the very end where the host starts interviewing himself, that’s proof that it was always just about him and how he thinks Christianity is the more superior religion. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a host do that on a documentary, as if he was saving himself as the final authority on the topic.

Whatever lies on the other side of this life, man wasn't meant to know. All that matters now is how you live your life and what you do with the time you have.
The secret of live? Living it, and living it well.
But yeah, Buddha never proclaimed himself a god or the son of one. I believe Jesus was the son of God like all of us are the sons and daughters of God. The messages gets construed with ideology.

Jesus was a prophet. He was the son of god by teaching the way of life. But hes not literal creator.
There was also evidence of a 2000 year old ancienr bible found in southern turkey. It states incredible things. the paper was lambsheet and was conserved into perfection. Analysts preserved it and confirmed its real.
Do u wanna know what it said on some sides:
IT STATED jesus was sent to far east asia (in young years) to get taught the way of life and spiritual enlightenment.
If u compare this to the way ppl talk about how jesus was supposed to be it makes perfect sense:
