  • There is a quaint perception that Jesus spent his entire ministry - prior to going to Jerusalem where he was crucified - in northern Israel, walking along the shores of a tiny fresh water lake called the "Sea of Galilee". But is this historical reality or theological fantasy?

I like that this guy asks questions no one has thought of, and goes to angles that seemingly aren't related. Not just in this, but in all his historical dives. It makes you think and perhaps some of his theories have a kernel of truth. BUT, having said that, sometimes I think he's reaching. Sometimes I also think he's has a theory and is trying to prove that theory by piecing things together rather than letting evidence form naturally. Still, entertaining and thought provoking, so I can't fault him.

@Pïnky Flöd You're absolutely correct. My credit given to self is a given, in times like these it feels like an out of body experience. The only reason I'm a believer is because I've outlived about 8 cat lives. Most times I should've died. But like you said I also had my mind made up not to. But where did the extra come from is my question ❓. I'm very strong willed, and, am not one to be spoonfed like so many others. I question everything. When others say everything in the Bible/Our life journey is preordained. I say hell no. I also boldly ask God if if so than why? No reason to give free will over all creation, just to turn around, and,say I planned your whole life for you. I don't believe that. But then again I don't have any answers. Good feedback.

Interesting , however, the reason in scripture that the people of Gadara were angry was because of the 2000 pigs that jumped off the cliffs, that's a lot of pork! Of course they wanted rid of him. The demoniac that was exorcised and was in his right mind again, wanted to follow Jesus and be his disciple. Jesus told him to stay there and tell the people of his healing. This man became the evangelist of that area and told everyone about Jesus and was proof of the amazing miracle. The disciples, no doubt shared what they had witnessed and believed.🙏🙏

Kinda patch working things together somewhat out of context? Kinda Indiana Jones style, its a good catalyst for thought and study, but if GPS tells you to follow the highway till you reach El Paso, and you turn off long before or after.. I guess you can get to the destination but defies logic? Take for example here the Sign of Jonah segment- what follows after the verse referenced is the interpretation "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Kinda aside from that, Im kinda miffed that geography changes, water levels, city relocations, etc (in certain segments) aren't really factored in. The city on the cliff side may have been nestled by the water 2000 years ago but have changed since. I have no idea myself and maybe those things havent changed- but may yield some clues that I suppose for the sake of time has been considered but omitted from the final cut of an hour long program.

I'm assuming your days are 24 hours in length like mine are? So if you are going to believe that he rose on the 3rd day on Sunday morning do you see where that would not quite reach to the 3days and 3 nights of Jonas in the fish? So maybe you should watch the part again which discusses this scenario.

@@mogbaba I find it interesting that you would say that demons are different in nature as time moves forward. Perhaps your concept of demons are totally different from the Christian's concept. You see, the Christian's idea of the existence of demons or fallen angels aren't dependent on whether or not a particular religion, culture or civilization are still in existence. Demons just don't cease to exist just because a civilization may no longer exist; or because certain cultures or religions no longer believe in them anymore. We humans aren't responsible for their existence, and neither can they be wished away by our denial or will power. They are supernatural entities of another dimension, which has abilities to interact on the physical plane under certain conditions. Only the power of Christ (God in the flesh) has the ability to destroy them. Demons were active in the past history of this planet, and are just as active in our present world - believe it or not.
Those ancient civilizations of the past which worshiped demon gods like Dagon etc. had a warped knowledge of the true Creator God. Their twisted concept of God opened them up demonic deception, and twisted perverted religious practices - no different in a sense than what is practiced today in a number of places. Certain religious practices of today like Santeria among certain Caribbean societies, and Santa Muerte in Mexico still carry on the practice of demon worship. A Satanic church was once active in the past, whose founder was Anton LaVey. Aleister Crowley was another fine example of many that embraced demons. The belief in demons will never go away until they are destroyed by the Prince of Heaven when the kingdoms of this world is restored back to Him. Thy Kingdom Come.

Hi, I am talking about the actual life, talking about what we people experience right now.
The concept of demon in Abramic religions, all stem from the concept of Daeva, very close to Indian concept of Hindu pantheon. I am Iranian, and know very well the evolution of that concept. I have worked on it, and know that these were in a time, gods which were worshiped and in another stage of the history, they changed to forces against God. Before they become god to be worshiped, they were ordinary natural phenomenons.
Those different concepts, each, represent a stage in human history. Today, they are old legendary stories for us Iranians.
The Persian Ahriman, which became devil in Judaism and Christianity, came back to Iran in the form of Islamic Shaitan, "Satan". It is, today, not serious. It is used in talks with kids. F. ex. when a child does something wrong, the mother may say, 'Oh, perhaps the Satan deceived you'.
These concepts don't work in modern culture. In Norway, they are not used at all. On the contrary, these are very serious matters in some communities in the US today. I have learned about several examples, where people believe someone has been possessed by demons. In some cases, parents have killed their kids, because they believed they were possessed!
No, these things do not exist and never have done. Yes, they are products of our minds, that's why in some paces they are important, and in some other places, they are non-existent.

@@mogbaba I have no knowledge of your religious background, if any exist or existed. But judging from your post I can only guess that you are either an agnostic or atheist regarding the existence of God or anything supernatural in origin. I suppose that is where the great divide exist between us regarding this topic.
I cannot see us agreeing on the subject of demons. Your claim is that it is a throwback to ancient times when humans attempted to find an explanation for the causes of natural disasters, diseases, wars, hatred, or all other things which would make life intolerable.
To hold such a position is the equivalent of believing that man created the belief in the supernatural for his/her own convenience. That is opposite to the belief that man's existence is the result of the supernatural. That is the crux of the debate.
The attempt to explain away religious belief in the supernatural as the result of human invention is just as impossible to prove as the Christian's claim that Jesus walked on water. Now I as a Christian actually do believe that Jesus did indeed walked on water. But I cannot prove it to you. But then neither can you prove that the supernatural was contrived by man in the stone age.
You believe as you do because you feel that there is evidence that support your views on religion, and perhaps your worldview. Conversely, I believe as I do because in my estimation, there is sufficient support to buttress the opinion that Jesus is what He claims to be - God manifested in the flesh.
If that is my view about Christ, then the rest of my views on biblical scriptures (written by some of the same writers) would be equally grounded in it's reliability - including the part where it describes Satan's fall from Heaven as lightning, whose former position was once beside the throne of God.

Joseph Arimathea was the great uncle of Jesus, uncle of Miriam, mother of Jesus. Joseph was the owner of a tin factory in Cornwall, Great Britain. He was a very rich man and traveled frequently to England. Apparently, Jesus did travel with his disciples and Joseph. Among the writings of the Church Fathers, on Church History, some of them mention that Jesus did travel to preach the Gospel overseas. Anyway, Jesus was already a supernatural being, he would not have needed a boat or any form of transportation. He could be translated from one place to another.

There’s ancient pathways that are still used and you can walk them yourself or with the tour groups. Jesus definitely would’ve taken the same route from Nazareth to Jerusalem. One trail that’s really interesting is the one from Jerusalem to Jericho. One TH-cam video flies a drone above the trail. The trail is mostly on top of a mountain ridge and is ancient. It was probably in use long before Abraham’s time. You can search TH-cam for it. There’s a lot of videos of Christian tourists walking it.
