  • He lived in ancient Israel, he was called the “Good Shepherd”, he was killed by the Romans and he rose in three days. But he’s not Jesus! Shockingly, an ancient stone tablet that has emerged from the Jordanian antiquities market seems to suggest that there was a dying and rising Messiah before Jesus.
Secrets of Christianity brings the techniques of investigative journalism to history, with Simcha Jacobovici connecting the dots of many academic and scientific disciplines to present a new take on the past. The series uncovers alternate truths that have either eluded us, or been kept from us - until now.

Its worth noting that there were many religious movements, some would call "cults" as well as prophetic individuals in the Eastern Mediterranean at this time. They were short lived and obscured, but were an important social element of the time, and a threat to the religious status quo wherever they were. One needs to consider that when trying to understand the world that Christ existed in. These were the masses that the apostles reached out to, not just Jews or Romans. They were different ethnic groups in that part of the world, and they were looking for salvation beyond what their traditional ethnic religions could offer. And there was this plethora of other radical or controversial religious movements that the apostles were more or less, competing with.

People need to stop looking at the history of religion from a linear timeline. Given the factors of the region at the time alot of these beliefs were not as widespread as they are today. Meaning they were many beliefs and similar ones at that. Alot of these groups would intermingle and thus the beliefs did to. You can see many of these ideas and concepts ingrained in most of the surviving beliefs.

@@retired5218 There is overwhelming evidence that Jesus never existed or his apostles. Nobody writing the new testament ever met Jesus, that right there should tell you what you need to know about the new testament. Too much tampering with to fit your own narrative, way too much assuming things could have happened with 0 evidence. Faith, normally is the religious peoples counter to this. Human beings are imperfect, some with mental conditions and schizophrenia, confirmation bias, ext. There is way more evidence of human intervention.
      Jospehus' Description of Jesus
Now, there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles.
Many claim this line was later inserted in by Christians. A common practice by them. Also, this in no way is evidence for linking to your supposed "Messiah". Jesus was a common name back then. There is actually an older story in Hebrew that references a Jesus angel figure that was killed by Satan in space and then resurrected.
      Paul or letters from Paul
Many Christains and scholars agree that many of these letters were not written by Paul. Paul's name carried enormous weight in the foundation of the Catholic church. Paul never met Jesus (Had visions of him? Sounds like delusions) and many other early followers would use his name to try and pass canonical laws. Homosexuals and women as preists were two of the big ones.
Sounds like more human intervention to me especially when in the old testament there is no reference to Hell, Homosexuality, or problems with women as leaders.
There is no existing letter from Pontius Pilate to the Roman emperor about Jesus.
Not only that but there are no existing texts mentionning Jesus that were written during the period he is supposed to have lived.
All existing documents that mention him have been written decades after the alleged facts. This is why some historians maintain that we can’t be certain Jesus even existed.
To summarize this, pretty much all of the so called historical references to Jesus that Christian's love to go back and source like a robot, have almost 0 historical evidence or sources. You would think that there would be more writers talking about all of the crazy events that went down in the bible, like the undead event after Jesus death. None, how is there no writing about this!? Do not tell me there were not enough writers at the time, undead going through the streets would be remembered lol.
The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus' resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!"'(Matthew 27: 50-54)
If you believe that hog wash, then good luck in this complicated amazing life!

I'm skeptical myself, buy there is an answer to your objection: The date of the original was determined by typology--examining the types of certain Hebrew letter that are known to have changed over time. That can be done just as effectively with a replica as with the original. What you can't do with a replica, though, is determine the authenticity of the original. I am skeptical about its authenticity, not about its date if the stone is authentic.

    • @cristianespinal9917
      @cristianespinal9917 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@david5192 even typology can be misleading. One problem I have with the typology is that the letters are supposedly painted. Someone could well have painted them later (say the end of the 1st century to the mid 2nd century) in an older script and over-shot.
There may also have been writers who maintained earlier forms for longer because they learned to write from someone more old school for the time.
Finally, sometimes older forms are chosen for a contemporary use in order to lend some gravitas. How many gravestones today are etched in Times New Roman or Calibri? Certainly fewer than are etched in a neo-Roman or Gothic types.
The certainty of such a conclusion when the later bound is so close to the time period of Jesus makes me think that the analyst has some stake in a particular conclusion, i.e. being from before Jesus in order to say "yes, Jesus was definitely no more than a copycat". The whole documentary seems to suffer from a lack of skepticism and rigor and instead seems to be trying to craft a particular narrative.

An interesting story that certainly deserves further research and particularly verification and analysis of the original stone tablet. The symbolism involved e.g. the three shepherds does not make the investigation any easier. Moreover, the tablet was probably inscribed long after the events. Rising on the third day is an ancient Middle Eastern tradition. The Babylonian goddess Ishtar (Easter) emerged from the Underworld fully dressed after three days having been required to remove clothing at each of the seven gates of the Underworld. (the dance of the seven veils). Another problem arises in separating Jesus of the Gospels from other possible Messiahs of the same era, contemporary Roman records are important here.

Messiah is a word that applies to someone that liberates. A great liberator can be used for many people throughout history. Perhaps his story was a part of the prophecy. Many will come and claim to be the Messiah. Everyone assumes that this is referring to the second coming of Jesus. What if it also referred to birth of a Messiah. Not necessarily the one true Messiah but a liberator. Much less emphasis on liberator than Messiah.

Last year I read compendium "The Pythagorean Sourcebook" (Pythagoras is credited with coining our term Philosophy, among other credits) which really opened my eyes. Pythagoras studied with "Indian Gymnosophists" and preached (like the most famous Pythagorean, Plato) reincarnation ("rebirth" or metempsychosis). In case you didn't know, Augustine like many other early Christians (Justin Martyr comes to mind) was a Platonist (most classically educated literate Romans and Greeks were) and also a Manichean (who merged Christianity with Buddhist teachings). I'm now I'm reading Hurtado's "Destroyer of the Gods" (on early Christianity), which is putting more pieces together. I don't want to take away from the importance of our real churches (the people, not the buildings), but Christian doctrines are making more and more sense now. The primary virtue of Christian philosophers over the pagan Sophists is that Christians sought a) consensus and b) correlation with creation (nature, reality) and not just the Sophist's focus on sounding good, winning debates and arguing for money. It sounds odd to modern ears, but Christian philosophers were the original natural philosophers. Even our term "Faith" is a bad translation of Pistis, an essential component of Aristotle's logic and rhetoric. "En arche was the Logos, and the Logos was with God and the Logos was God." John 1:1. 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

For example, Lucifer is a Roman name, added to the bible by constantine at nicea. It is in reference to Venus around spring time. It is the morning star that announces the arrival of the sun and competes with it to be the most high, but can't take the throne because of it's trajectory and sinks below the horizon, or "falls from heaven." This is also John the baptist, for he announces the arrival of the son, someone greater than he. If jesus is the right hand, then john the baptist is the left hand, which makes him samael, the baphomet. But in abrahamic religions, the left hand is muhammad, whose day is friday, who is frigg or lucifer. It's even structured in our week. Friday to the left of saturday, when the hebrews take their sabbath. When does Islam take their sabbath? Friday. Lucifers day. Venus day. Friggs day. The day of john the baptist, the baphomet, mahomet. This also corresponds to aquarius. All this explained in Matthew chapter 3.

Noticed how the director push to "promote" to viewers in the beginning of the documentary starting from about minut 1:14 and 3:58 onwards that the replica stone looks authentic and later on mention it was reproduction. Plus they also conveniently tried to reinforce their investigation by show Simka talking to the so-called shady israeli collector whole lives in switzerland from 6:40 onwards and failed to get access to the original inscription. How could they get the number of the "shady" collector or trader? Who is this David the antiquity collector/ trader? The bible is mentioning some rebels that made an inpact before Jesus came. And da messiah came frist time as a suffering messiah to make peace people with allmighty and Saint creator. And he will come again a second time as King of Kings with an army of his angels and He willl judge the world how it says in revelation...
    "Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God."
    Acts 5:34-39

The instruction about rising on the third day , amounts to a memorial of Abraham repeated by Moses. Abraham made a three day journey from Beersheba to Salem or Jerusalem, instructed by the Spirit , whom Abraham believed this Spirit he was communing with, was God, and the Spirit summoned Abraham to bring his son Isaac to the Altar , for a Meeting of consequences. So Moses told the Israelite to prepare three days to go up Mount Sinai to meet God , in a similar quest of receiving instructions. So the theme of rising on the third day is common in the Bible, from the earliest times, a period of preparing for a sacred meeting, traveling, praying, fasting and the like. So that any sort of Meeting between a Patriarch and God would incur a time of sequences of deeds, passing three days. It was considered that overall , all of time, from Mount Sinai to the return of God to Israel, in a consequential way , would be Three Passovers or Three Days of the Lord, as unique moments in history. So Jesus was able to point out to his own disciples why the Messiah had to die and three days had to pass before the resurrection . Because Jesus died during a Passover Week of Eight Days, not seven, then Jesus died on the 6th day and was lain in the tomb for the 7th and 8th day, which ended a term of a year in their calendar and began a new year event. Adding an extra day to Passover Week is like a Leap Year Day , and the reason for the extra day to the end of the old year in Passover, was that the High Priest waited for the Full Moon to reign the evening leading to the Morning Star and the Spring Vernal Equinox Sunrise , as in certain years of Easter, that this alignment caused the city of Jerusalem to have perpetual light for 24 hours, a day of First Light, by the Full Moon the Morning Star and the Sunrise on Easter. So Jesus was in the tomb for three days and nights. when using the Temple Calendar, legally invoked by a High Priest of Israel , which the Jews have not used for two thousand years.

@@quintincastro7430 For the Saints to walk in the Way of the Lord, provides insight to the Traditions of the Patriarchs, that combine to instruct Moses, as Moses saw the patterns of signs , in the Heavens, it was like reading out the ages, looking back to the details of the lives of the Patriarchs for signs of God' s companionship with them, and repeating them in a memorial that builds upon the same things. So Solomon said "There is nothing new under the Sun". So what shall be hereafter , has already been so before. This means that the future covenant has a familiar pattern , like a woven cloth, the material has a weave that is a pattern used repeatedly. When we speak of a "Loophole" in the Law, that means from the patterns of how it was crafted , certain passages are holes or escape hatches, in and out of the whole cloth. So a doorway to Heaven, is a Loophole in the design of the Cloth.

So what i am trying to say is that this naming convention is not the preserve of christ or christianity. So Prince of Princes is no differnt from King of Kings .. for those that used the expression in the day. For us today, we put our modern meanings on things from the ancient past. Another is Caesar .. Kaiser, Tsar etc., Originally a name that became a title.. And possibly pronounced Kay-EZ-er .. not Seezer .. as we say, today. All interesting stuff without an agenda (me, that is.. My theory is that we are spirits of the earth as we have no past life memories of any other planet, only this one and we know the universe is full of other worlds. We are the leaves of a great tree (the earth) whose branches grow and produce more leaves such as our growing population and more souls on earth over time. We are made of the same stuff from the earliest days of the creation of the universe when organisms had only a single cell existing in higher and more complex forms over time with evolving consciousness. The leaves will wither and die but new leaves will grow in their place, reincarnation. One day the tree dies, the way the sun will die and the earth will freeze and die too. I cannot imagine what happens after that but perhaps it is a cycle within a larger cycle within yet an even larger cycle, just as in death our souls continue to exist, on a different level the death of our planet brings about a much larger transformation to another plane of existence because we can no longer reincarnate here, eventually our galaxy dies, and then the universe, perhaps to infinity as there may be an infinite number of layers to our existence.

The Jewish people do not believe or acknowledge Yeshua as a divinity - the Jewish Christians do - but not the main line orthodox Jewish people. The Gospel writers blamed the execution of Yeshua on the Jewish people and not on Rome because the Gospel writers wanted to prove to Rome that the Jewish people were not in rebellion against the Empire .. or trouble makers .. so the Gospel writers portrayed Pontius Pilate as a benevolent Governor when he was anything but that - shifted the blame to the Jewish populous so that Rome would get off their backs! Unfortunately, the choice of that has led to little over 2,000 years of anti-Semetism - but the Jewish people do not hate Yeshua now nor did they then. 😊

The oldest known occurrence of the resurrection on the third day is from ancient Egypt. There the king, the pharaoh, was considered to be divine. His divinity was bestowed upon him through a secret divination ritual upon his crowning as pharaoh. The critical step was the ingestion of a drink that would put the pharaoh to be in a dead-like sleep from which he would awaken on the third day.
While in that coma the pharao was thought to be presented to the gods and to be approved by them: if he returned as expected, he had their blessing - if he didn't wake up he had not been approved.
Obviously, since the point of the ritual was to equip the people with their important divine leader, the pharao would usually wake up on the third day as proof of his divinity.

Actually I'm not afraid of being proven wrong. And I, contrary to your popular belief, actually look at and keep up with scientific discoveries, and it is because of science and logic that I so strongly believe in the Bible. Then again, being grounded in science is technically not faith, but I digress. I have, over the course of my life as a college student have struggled with my faith and have asked many times, "Why do I believe this? This just seems too weird and just seems to go against what the scientific community would say." Then I would dig deeper and see videos and read articles from atheists and Christian apologists, all very brilliant and highly respected people (and by highly respected I mean people with PHD's, experts in their fields, Steven Hawking and the like) and I would compare what they have to say against each other. In addition, in high school, I took an advanced placement English Language class which discussed how to make effective arguments and pick out fallacies in certain statements. This is what leads me to have different views from my peers, like why I personally believe that homosexuality is not a sin. This is not the view of my denomination, but I will still stand by it, as I view the arguments for it to be valid criticisms of a traditional belief that the church has had, while still being rooted in Scripture. There are many shades of Christians, ranging from the (frustratingly) stubborn and unshifting folk who praise Trump and believe every word he says, no matter how ridiculous or illogical it may be, to people on the left who interpret and believe the words of the Bible differently. I am more moderate with left leaning tendencies. I have several (close) friends who are gay and nonbinary (one being a gay pagan with very different beliefs concerning demons) and I also have friends who (unfortunately) are hardcore Trump supporters, so I have learned to take in both sides, see the shades of truth in each view, and meld them together so both people can understand the whole situation.

Having seen the Jeselsohn Stone while on exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in 2010, I perceived it as an authentic 1st Century B.C. artifact, though I am not an expert. I also noticed that the Sacred Tetragrammaton (YHWH) appeared numerous times throughout the text. The english translation of line 80 "in three days, live" within it's context reminded me of a more ancient Hebrew prophecy found in the Book of Hosea, circa 720 B.C. which reads, "After two days will he revive us; in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight." According to the Gospel of Luke, Gabriel appears to Mary, the mother of Jesus, in chapter one, and may also be one of two angelic messengers present at the tomb of Christ in chapter 24.

It relates to astrotheology. If you do enough research, you will see how it all relates, and points to the truth. To understand the most high, you must understand yourselfFor example, Lucifer is a Roman name, added to the bible by constantine at nicea. All this explained in Matthew chapter 3

Okay the stone itself could be many millions of years old but surely there are ways to date the writing besides analysing the writing style? Otherwise people all over the place could learn ancient writing and language, write all sorts of information on stones, especially carving into the stone with an engraving tool, burying them somewhere, then “discovering” these ancient texts.
As mentioned above, this stone was written on with ink. Are there other examples of stones with text on them written in ink? I can think of the ancient Egyptians writing & painting on stone walls. Surely the paint used there could be dated.

It is Apollo of Tiana ,also known as Apollonius Tyaneaus, who was actually born much before Jesus. His life was copied word to word and a fictitious character called Jesus was just planted in the story.
If you read the ‘Messages from Jesus and the Celestials’ with an open mind, you can easily discern the truth.

Maybe we should rethink the origins of all Messiahs.
What if their divinity all came from the same place?
What if God didn't just send one "son".
Think about it. How lost and disconnected from God we were, and still are.
What if God has sent more than one Messiah, for more than one culture/civilization?

That is exactly what muslims believe. Except that Jesus too was also a prophet from God, and there have been more than 100,000 prophets over the ages. All civilizations, all people of all continents, throughout the ages have been told the same message. But all prophets got treated the same by the establishment of their respective eras.

far far away back in time, Ezekiel 37 prophesied that one day the Lord will resurrect the people from graves in three days, so I guess this is not something new. The stone only described a messianic hope of the Jews of 1st century AD.
