- For the 2nd (and 3rd) day of the @onXOffroad Build Challenge, we headed out on Charouleau Gap Trail just outside of Tucson, Arizona for our overnight adventure. Fun was had, bumpers were destroyed, and there may or may not have been a vehicle fire. Check out how all the builds from these channels did on the trail! @MischiefMakerTV @FabRats @bleepinjeep @DirtLifestyle Next week we finish the competition on Pyeatt Draw trail outside of Payson, Arizona!
The front suspension worked AMAZING! Huge thanks to @RuffstuffSpecialties for making awesome builder parts! If you are interested in building a 3 link like this Bronco has, be sure to visit www.ruffstuffspecialties.com and use code "Ultra4Jones10" at checkout!
I am so happy with how strong the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss XS are, but so sad that they destroyed my beautiful bumper from www.wildhorses4x4.com. I will straighten it out and make sure it clears the tires next time!!
I like Paul's rig, but the Bronco is definitely the rig I would love to own!
Paul’s came out cool and fit the challenge perfectly, but I built a vehicle to drive anywhere/anytime and feel like I nailed it.
Paul drove his from Utah I bet you can take it anywhere he builds some bad ass rigs
Should be an easy choice for the win. Amazing build, all the more impressive when you see how it came together. Everybody is going to secretly want to own this Bronco.
Thank you. I think even not so secretly!
Glad to see Cam dog was out there, spittin bars
Cam and Jon were super cool. 🤘🏻
The bumper thing happens - shake out run. Looking AWESOME out there!
Thanks 👍
The 7.3 Bronco stole the show! And I love that you got to spend some quality time with Mallory after several crazy consecutive weeks thrashing on the build!
Thanks for the video!
Definitely!!
I think your wife is awesome like mine is. She is there for support even if she doesn’t know what going on. She deserves credit for that. I couldn’t do life without my wife support.
100% correct
@@papatomsthoughts I think you don’t read very well. Or miss understood what I said. Either way I wasn’t talking or commenting to you. So shhhh i don’t care what you have to say. The person I was commenting to understood what I was saying. So find someone elses comment to reply to. Thanks ❤️
@JimBosGarage49 for some reason my comment went to wrong post, sorry.
@ ok I apologize sir.
Love this Bronco. You guys have had the best coverage I have seen. Great job and tons o fun.
Oh….just wait. The OnX videos are going to blow mine out of the water. Stay tuned for those.
Bronco is still so great,,, and Josh can tell some good campfire stories..
Thanks Lee. I will say though….if you want some entertainment, just hand Ian a bottle of whiskey!
Kind of shocked to see that bumper folded so easy and not just cut the tire when they rubbed. Built full size Broncos look epic, good job.
I guess the Mickey Thompsons are stronger than steel! 😂
She’s doing great looks like a lot of fun I love that part of AZ that bumper’s kind of a bummer can’t wait for next week.
Editing it now!
GR8 video guys!!
Thank you. Such a fun trip and so many memories packed in.
Your a great addition to this group. Sorry about bumper, that is fixable. 😊😊😊😊
Thanks 👍 It was a wonderful experience and I hope I get the chance to do more of it.
Win or not you built an awesome bronco.
I agree!
This Monty Python of an offroad video, is the best, I have seen all year ! When the tent poles were missing I had to take a laughing hard enough to p break.
Good job on the build and the trail repairs.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the Bronco. 7.3 PSD sound is fantastic.
Didn't know you guys were in the Santa Maria area... My family farmed Rosemary Farms land back between1976-82. We grew cannery tomatoes.. But what I want to comment on was the food.
Santa Maria style BBQ Oakwood/tritip and Pinquito beans were just was the best. And here are the restaurants that made Santa Maria famous for it's food.
Jocko's- still in business and fabulous
Holiday Inn- had the best smorgasbord and Tritip carver, no longer there.
Farm Boy- known for 1" pork chops over the coals
Fredrick's Italian Restaurant- oak wood cooked specialty dishes
The Office- made Scaloni famous Scallops and Abalone into patties. Local farmers showed up for breakfast there.
The Great Western in Guadalupe.. had their own cattle ranch. No longer there.
The Bask Restaurants across the street from the Great Western.. some of the best eating possible.
Sat. Sun road side BBQ on Broadway
there was a sandwich shop on Main and Broadway in the brick building there...
Santa Maria was, maybe still is... but a food mecca like no other when it came to BBQ
I was the farm mechanic for our business.
I will never forget those times.
@@muddypawsadventurer7775 awesome review!
legit truck, unlike a few of the cartoon parody builds that showed up.... that bumper...you must have taken inspiration from Victory 4x4, as I routinely have to bend mine back into shape as well!
The bumper is from Wild Horses 4x4, i just welded it together.
@@Chasing518 go figure. I have to chop mine up to adjust for a 2" body lift, so may add in some stiffening...might not...damn thing is already too heavy. (not a problem for your diesel powerplant)
Fire fighter kevin to the rescue 😅 dont be asking the wife to get dirt lol
Haha! Yep!
Must feel good to be on the trail after so much hard work building
Yes it does! Very surreal to work so hard and then immediately get to enjoy the vehicle as intended.
New to your channel, been watching Fab Rats and MORR since they started. Just wanted to say your Bronco as awesome! good job!
Awesome! Thank you!
When you were looking st the waterfall obstacle n talking with ur wife....i actually thought you were taking a piss until you started pointing at stuff.....lol
Awkward
Crushing it guys. Shame about the front bar but all in all you've gotta be happy with how it went.
Very!!
Bummer the tire bent the bumper 🤔…HEY it FLEXED💪🏻 enough to bend the bumper!!!!
The bumper guys should be apologizing for getting in the way of tire!!!😎
😂👍
Awesome video and looks like a mighty fun time.
It was!
Can’t wait to see how Bluey evolves after this…
Me too! Fix a few things, add some more accessories, and dial in rear suspension are on the short list!
@Chasing518 looking forward to it!
awsome episode guys! Kinda the pits you all broke and the group wasn't together still.
Thanks. It was a huge bummer not all the teams finished their vehicles for sure. As far as “together”, after we finished each day, we all handled our logistics of travel/lodging separately, that is why I was doing the hub repair solo.
@@Chasing518 yeah i totally understand how logistics differ from event to event. with you all needing to be a different places along the way but landing at the same time, i would have thought the group would have been traveling together between checkpoints. sorry if my comment was misworded, ive enjoyed this project playing out on all the channels. And its super cool of all of you to participate and share. ive been in the middle of nowhere when it hits the fan! having mates always helps with roadside repairs, and moral. Props for keeping the rig, and yourselves together. Looking forward to the next episode!
Right on. Thanks!
Was awesome meeting you guys, just watched your video, and wish we had exchange numbers, we would have help you two, and let you use our shop.
Next time!
I would have loved to Robby take his joke of a build down this trail.....LOL
His rig is outside the scope of the build “rules”, but it is definitely not a joke. This trail would have been really challenging for it though with all the tree limbs overhanging/crowding the trail. He did a few obstacles with it on Pyeatt Draw that really surprised me. That footage will be out next Saturday
@@Chasing518 It's more of a show rig than a serious road unit.
Absolutely. He built a SEMA show vehicle that he wasn’t afraid to put some scratches in. I don’t like trailering, so I built a driver that just happened to attend SEMA. Big difference
Oh.. I commented on Bleepins video about going to Wasteland Weekend.. 😂
Awesome!
@Chasing518 not sure if you have heard of it.. but definitely would appreciate the vehicles..
Told you killing spiders was bad luck
😂😂😂 wow, full circle throwback!
That poor bumper was not made to accommodate tires that size!! you will have to do some reengineering when you get home. But the Bronco just rocked the hard parts in fact you made it look easy.
I have an old ford truck(1999) with the 7.3 I just love hearing that diesel sound on the trail. Good job!!!
Thanks! And yes, bumper will get fixed up.
Last thing you should worry about is the Bumper. You All are Doing these Trails to make a list of Things to Fix..
Still bummed me out, but yes, you are 100% right.
With some more shakedown time the Bronco will be fantastic.
As for the parts store, who wouldn't let someone that's gonna spend $$ work on their stuff?
I agree, and it was super disappointing. The manager made the kid come over and tell me I couldn't work on the Bronco in their lot. I told him I wanted to diagnose the noise/problem and then buy parts/supplies from them to fix it. He said boss man said no, so we packed up tools and left.
Hey did you guys catch what Robbie said before he left.....he said something like...oh Holly it doesn't matter cuz we all know that you had ur crew build ur rig for you...😯😯...in his defense he added a ..jus kiddin!...so i guess he was being funny!
I heard that comment in his trail video, seemed odd, but yeah, guess it was a joke. 🤷♂️
@Chasing518 ..ya I guess.🤔
Sweet...
Lots of stuff half way through...what happened to bleeping Hand/wrist?
Watch his latest videos of our competition at Tucson Dragway
Cool Bronco I have a 96, i need a plan for
I know its not the fun question but have you tracked the MPG? just curious
Speedo is off 6-8 and the fuel leak make it not worth calculating yet
Are you Portuguese?
No…..i feel like this is a setup to a joke…….
@Chasing518 no..just asking cuz of the wraps you made with the Linguica ..Great meat..
My mom is from Pico..from the Azors Islands
@ gotcha! No, just a local favorite
Grew up on it my Whole Life...
An Auto Parts store that wont let you work on your rig in the parking lot? NOT cool.
They were not cool. 10/10 do not recommend.
Those Yukon hubs are TRASH!!!!!
Is this a common problem??
I have them and never seen that issue.Sometimes they are hard to unlock but if you wiggle the steering then try again they will unlock
shout out to @firemaple for taking over the camping gear world straight from Shenzen!
What?
@@Chasing518 haha, your camping gear. It's a Chinese company that is making good clone's of drastically more expensive gear (that is also from China).
