That was a nice approach. And, for those who mock your handling of the plane, aka "abusive use" of the autopilot just don't understand flying. A reduced workload makes for a safer pilot. Good job!
Yeah, there is a difference between real world, destination flying and stick and rudder, fun days. Anything that keeps me in front of the plane is a-ok 👌🏻 in my book.
Definitely a great approach, and definitely something that was good to see, given I’m starting my instrument training. I love the way you did the altitude callouts, I have to remember to do that myself. Take care!
This is so cool to see! I’m an air traffic controller at Chicago Center, I work the airspace over Grand Rapids and I’ve seen your aircraft flying around before. I’ve always wanted to fly a SR22 and recognize the callsign when it’s on our scope. Very cool to see your videos! Keep up the great work, fly safe, and maybe I’ll get the chance to talk to you on the frequency!
@ Safe flight! I’ll be at work tomorrow and will keep an eye out for your flight! If you ever fly out to the Chicago area (especially ARR) and want a tour of the center let me know!
Nice approach and even better win against the Pack! Hate those F'rs.....used to not hate the Lions (as a Vikings fan) but damn, now you're relevant! What a fun weekend for you guys.
Still helps to practice hand flying and keep your scan sharp(considering how rare it is to shoot an actual approach), try from the FAF inbound, especially if it's "gentleman IFR" like it was with 1000ft ceilings.
I like your stuff, Scott. However, it may be the way you edited the clip, but I'm not aware of how much you briefed the approach other than stating you were flying the RNAV 17 to 1108'. I didn't hear any missed approach action, missed approach point and the routing thereafter- which is an essential part of any instrument approach if the weather is at or close to minimums. Did you cover this but not show it?
I briefed it way before I was on the approach. I edit a lot out because I don’t want this to be misconstrued as instruction. But I assure you, it was fully briefed.
@@flying_scottJust an observation 😊 culturally in Europe that would be very awkward 😅 we have hats only when there is a sun. E.g. being in restaurant or having a coffee with cap would be perceived like disrespectful. Same as having sunglasses indoors. However, nice plane :) Can you try DA42 as co-pilot and give honest feedback on both?

My instructor was big on that, I guess it stuck. Good luck!

That's soo cool, I'll be headed to Indy tomorrow... wink wink

@ I might make a trip just for that! Thanks!
Very nice approach!
Nice video lesson for beginners and not smooth landing but SMOOOOOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My respect for this nice video

Haha! 100% we are long overdue!

What camera did you use to video the instrument panel? That's the clearest video I've seen from a headliner mounted camera.
It’s a GoPro hero 12
Great video. If you're still in GRR and have time, I'd love to have you on my podcast
@@MosesKabandana sorry, was just passing through. But I’ll hit you up if I’m coming back for any amount of time.
@@flying_scott Awesome. As always, keep the blue side up!

Cool, it’s the examiner in me that gets triggered if I don’t see things.
Why do you have caps on head in the plane? There is no any sun outside.
Ha! Just because

Caps make you look cool sometimes.. So why not?
