I remember many of them, starting with riding on the toolbox of a Massey 788 special, next to the big flywheel! (See 10.40, horrifying really). Then a NH Clayson 133 (super combine but godawful heavy to drive), Claas Senator 80 (great sample but dusty as hell) then Dominator 96 then 108s (luxury) A lot of the old combines had very weak belt drives to the header reel, so they would slip in laid crops. Hence the need to only go one way, you could not get the crop in otherwise. My dad used to sit me on his knee and let me steer the old Massey on the return run back up the field.
