IF the OP mother and father knew he started dating her ONLY after he was out of school. Their word should have been good enough for the school board. Just saying. But now there is a LAW that teachers can NEVER date a former student now. Or at least it is that way in Florida now.
When in doubt, they could sue them for Slander or whatever else it is called when lies are distributed like this.
Then they should be *very* quick to do a proper investigation and realise how dumb they were.

Yet, they removed her because she was an "ineffective teacher" leaving out important information pertaining to why she's fired behind her back. Hypocrisy at the higher echelons is real!
My first job lied about me and why I was fired so everywhere I went to get a job it seemed to black list me, no contact or an interview then a sudden "I'm sorry, we cannot hire you at the moment." Untill I stopped putting them on my resumes (luckily I worked at another place at the same time and only used them. Which I was only let go due to seasonal (even though they too lied about the seasonality was supposed to be part time only and seasonal at the same time.) But only after using just that one source suddenly interviews and calls flooded in. Corrupt companies lie their asses off because they knew they did wrong.

Still kinda sucks that Amber lost her dream career though.
Though she had true love and that's all that matters. Also they have the last laugh so a perfect ending.
The reprimand she has on her files can be removed or get voided because the instigators that caused them to be put there have gotten prison time. All she or the husband has to do is ask the school board that put them on in the first place to remove them. If they do not then call their bosses and inform them of the situation and ask them to fix this. No additional evidence is actually required as they didn't have evidence agents her in the first place other then the words of convicted drug dealers and this fact works in her favor. If this doesn't work the only way to get this off is to sue the board or the people directly above them, not to high up though if she still wants to teach, and make the case publicized. This will make the board try to cover it up by giving her some hush money and clearing it off of her record. She can be nice and ask that the teachers and other people involved do not loose their careers and they might very well oblige and do so but more then likely at least three people will suffer for the actions that they did.
But she didn't though. She's still teaching.
Not really. True she lost the ability to teach public school however she was still able to teach and is still able to become a college professor which is her true dream job.

in the UK its not a city .. its called a "Hamlet" ..which is smaller than a village , then a town , then a city .

Here in the United States, the terms for "Village, Town, City, megatropolis" etc. go by how its governed, not the population size. YOu can have Cities smaller than nearby towns, etc. Though that almost never happens since the way its governed is 99% based on how many people live there, but fun fact none the less.
In the philippines its called a Barangay which is smaller than a district, then a division, then a province then a region

All the one I lived in as a kid had was the country store, the school, and post office. If there was anything more of note I sure never saw it.
I must admit that I am impressed that he would go to such lengths to get revenge on the people who had his wife wrongfully fired from her job. It truly shows the kind of person that he is. And that he is a caring husband.
I knew a guy that grew up in a small town. He told me there was not much to do there except watch TV, Drink yourself silly or have sex with your SO or a random hookup when the other two got boring.

OP, I got you on the small town thing. The small town I grew up in had a total of 119 students in the whole high school. (9-12). Our graduating class was only 21 (no flunks). Downtown was only one block long. On one side of the street was a hardware store, a bar, a tiny cafe (max seating 30 people), and a small empty one-room office. On the other side of the street was a small bank, the one-person phone company, and an empty lot. About 200 feet from the empty lot was the town hall and the one-chair barber shop in the basement. All the classes in the school (K-12) were in one building and the total number of students K-12 totaled 579 (this was in my senior year 1971). Our high school was so small we weren't big enough to qualify to have our sports teams in any conference, which means that even if we lost every football, basketball and baseball game we would still be in first place in our conference because we were the ONLY school in the conference. And it was the same thing with track and cross country races. The closest movie theater was 24 miles away in another town, no places for teens or kids to go and play, and if it wasn't for the school dances on Friday nights, there was no place to take a date unless you had a picnic at the football field on a Saturday afternoon. The teachers in the high school, (7 of them, yes I said 7) taught double subjects, sometimes triple subjects. Such as the gym teacher also taught biology. (He went to college to be a math teacher). The math teacher (her college degree) also taught the French class, which she didn't know any French herself. The English teacher was also the Spanish teacher and the Driver's Ed instructor. The Wood shop teacher was also the Home Ec teacher, (a male). The business teacher (my dad) was also the science and social studies teacher. I 'm sure you get the point. There was one teacher there that was also the JV football coach, the JV basketball coach, the senior class advisor, the school newspaper advisor, oversaw the 4 member student council and was the one to open up the gym on the weekends so the older kids could go in to play basketball because there were no basketball courts in the small town. Outside of the businesses mentioned above or teaching, there were no jobs for adults to get unless they went 23 miles to the "big city" and got one or worked as a farm hand. The town was so small that you would fart one morning and by noon everyone it town would know how it smelled. They knew what you had for supper the night before, who was doing who and where and when they were doing it even before they did it. And everyone was either a gossiper or the tattle tale that told the gossipers what they wanted to hear. Our cheerleaders were so ugly that even their own parents didn't admit they were their daughters. There were only two good looking girls in the whole high school and the town considered them both tramps because they were the only girls who had a date for every school dance during the year so they must have been giving sexual favors to get dates. (NOTE: They were both virgins when they got married after graduating). So you see OP, I would have gladly traded places with you in high school. It would have been a step up for me. So I do understand where you are coming from in your situation. Just remember though, there are always others in worse situations than you somewhere. And thank you for sharing your story.
If this story is true, it is both a very sweet love story and a tale of delicious revenge.

Movie theater? My small town dreamed of a movie theater. We only had shadow puppets in the park, and we had to use car headlights and a used bed sheet.

In a small town, people have so little to talk about, at times, that they need to make stuff up to fill conversation. Stories that might start as true get a little embelishment as they're retold. To start the story with something with video evidence ----- that'd be golden gossip for years!
This type of crap is getting a lot more common these days. Usually by people who are miserable for one reason or another. Who want others to share in their misery.

I do believe I would have told the board to remove that warning or me and my fiance would be suing them for harassment. I would also point out that a full recording had been taken of the conversation.

Small town with a mcdonalds? Thats bigger than the town i grew up in. We had a post office, firestation that was slowly being taken over by vegetation, and a gas station. School was 15 miles away and the nearest mcdonalds or walmart was 30 miles away.

ahhh..... an excellent revenge.... i can't think of any thing i would have done differently.... except maybe add a little tidbit of myself mocking them anonymously. only saying things that those people would know about, and make sure the entire town KNEW about their lies... and then ask a friend to keep me updated on the fallout.

McDonald's And a three screen movie theater? That's not a small town. We have three restaurants, two gas stations, and one grocery store. We have to drive 45 to go to the movies.
I'm glad also I grew up without cellphones! I wasn't BAD, never did drugs; but... I sure did some stupid stuff AFTER High School from 19 yrs old to 21, and then I joined the Air Force as a Medic and retired after 21 yrs. And I still did some goofy things. I married one of those goofy times. We're coming upon 41 yrs of marriage next month!
