For the record, I messed up with Wallace’s team. Dragonair isn’t in the Hoenn regional Pokédex. Also something about Melony’s Galarian Darmanitan where I say it doesn’t have the Zen Mode ability but actually does. My bad 😅

@@cbggaming1463I think it makes sense for Blue to, at least initially, be the type to get rid of Pokémon he thinks are inferior for perceived stronger ones. Maybe in the champion battle he had ended up replacing Pidgeot with Tauros but then in the gym battle for Gen 2 and their remakes he brings back Pidgeot. Shows he learned to value all his Pokémon.
Hoenn is all about duality, especially between the sea and the land, so Wallace and Steven both being champions makes a lot of sense, as Steven uses land themed typings (steel, rock, ground) and Wallace uses the ocean themed type (water). they are opposites, like archie and maxie, except steven does not attempt to expand the landmass to add more rocc to his collection
I get what you’re saying. Just cause it makes sense though, doesn’t necessarily mean I have to like the decision, especially since Wallace being champion in Emerald gave us redundancy with Juan.

Honestly Cynthia’s team doesn’t need change😅 and even if Milotic already is in other champion’s team this pokemon fits Cynthia perfectly, it’s beautiful and powerful and Roserade is just really cool Sinnoh grass type pretty pokemon that also fits her.

Nemona isnt using her actual "champion team" when facing the player. From both the intro and Paldean Winds, we know she has a Combat Breed Tauros, so I think that HAS to be on her team. Paldean Winds also gave her a Killowattrel
I feel like most of these changes were a bit unnecessary. Maybe even forced. Like for example, Claydol for Steven is totally fine. Clay is a common component of sedimentary rocks. And as we all know, man loves all kinds of rock. Starmie is an interesting thought, though. Oh, and Cynthia's team doesn't need changes, it's perfectly fine as it is. Especially not with Gengar, it's extremely overused. Also, changing Nemona's team was unnecessary. We were told she never used her real team against us. The one she used was just put together during our adventure. Perhaps in the second DLC, we will see her real team. Overall. Cool ideas, but I'd rather stick with what we got. Except for Geeta, what they did with her was truly an art of how to not make a champion team.

I'm all for fun changes. :) Just some of the choices you made came with deleting some that were already fine. Like, Diantha's changes were brilliant. They fit her actress side so much better and could make her more challenging to beat. Although I'm not a fan of giving her Aegislash, it's always weird for me to give champion the ace of its own E4 member. But then, that reasoning for Wallace's team could work for literally every single Pokemon. We may not think that Tentacruel fits in the cool category, but who can say if everyone thinks the same? It's all relative. We can create all sorts of creative movesets based on contest types, including those that were discarded. Oh, and the Dragonair. I see that you are aware of that one though, so I see no need to repeat what others said. Hope you don't see that as a baseless criticism, and may keep that in mind for the future. Cheers!

Lance: Espeon? I have to put a hard 'disagree' for that one. Lance is a Dragon Tamer and nothing about Espeon says 'Dragon'. Sure, he's honorable and values friendship, literally so does every Champion. Use Tyranitar instead of Aerodactyl if you want a good counter for Ice Types because Lance using an Espeon just feels like it goes against his whole theme. Wallace: While I can see what you're going for, this makes Wallace's team even more of a cakewalk. Roselia is not a good Pokemon and really needed Roserade to become actually decent. Dragonair is also not good without being a Dragonite. Crawdaunt is okay, but it really doesn't offer much. If it were up to me, I'd swap Whiscash for Swampert (because it's a more powerful Water/Ground Type) and Wailord for Starmie. Cynthia: Look, I'm all for changing up the team, but Azumarill and Gengar? Azumarill is very slow and even with Huge Power, without a Belly Drum setup, it wouldn't be getting anywhere. Plus, not being a Fairy Type in Gen 4 hinders its coverage. Any good Water or Grass Type would wall it like Gastrodon or Tangrowth. And yes, Azumarill does get Ice Punch, but then you're relying on its very slow speed instead of priority Aqua Jet. Milotic on the other hand at least can be useful instantly and has decent enough speed and bulk to remain on the field for an extended period of time, plus having recovery. But if Milotic doesn't work, then Gastrodon is also fine. It's a very good Pokemon also fulfilling the same tank role as Milotic. Unlike Azumarill and Milotic, Gastrodon is a Sinnoh Pokemon so it works even better. Gengar overlaps with Spiritomb in terms of type and Poison isn't don't anything since it's only super effective on Grass here. It feels very redundant especially since Lucario and Togekiss are very powerful special attackers anyways. Roserade should just stay since otherwise the team has no coverage against Water Types. Diantha: The reason you want Accelgor is pretty much the same reason why Hawlucha is on her team. It's also a show-off movie star Pokemon. Hawlucha should just stay. Leon: Not that I hate this new team, but I'd throw a curveball and give Leon his anime team. Dragapult, Mr. Rime, all three starters and Charizard. It feels in-character for Leon, as the Galar Champion superstar athlete to have all three starters that represent his region and all the trainers from Galar. Nemona: You said at the start of her section that you want her team to give you a tough battle and decided to give her Lokix and Oricorio, two Pokemon with pretty bad BSTs and are overall not good Pokemon for a Champion-level fight. I think Goodra should stay because at least one Pseudo-Legendary is the standard fare for a Champion. Gholdengo is a good choice. Arboliva is not a good Pokemon, having terrible typing and being incredibly slow. It's not the worst, but we can do better. Instead of Lokix, let her lead with Kilowattrel. It's pretty common for rivals to have the regional bird and Kilowattrel at least has the speed to strike first, either attacking hard with Thunderbolt or setting up Tailwind. Then add Cyclizar. It's Shed Tail combo actually gives it purpose, allowing Nemona to set up into another Pokemon. Nemona would use it to travel around Paldea alike to you using Koraidon/Miraidon. So the team would be Kilowattrel/Goodra/Cyclizar/Gholdengo/Pawmot/Starter. This team would be either very speedy or powerful, making it a much tougher battle. All the others I agree with more or less. I don't know about N. I think his original team is completely fine, but he has no practical theme, so this new team can't really be said for better or for worse. I think my favorite is Alder's new team, pretty much a perfect rework.
I understand the changes you’d make, but I wanted more out of these teams than just BST and stats. I’d rather have teams be more reflective of their character than being a challenge.
@@kdog_0731 I mean... part of their character is being a Champion to begin with. Their teams should be representative of the strongest trainer in their respective regions. Thus I feel like one part of a Champion's team is to feel strong and intimidating. That's pretty much the biggest reason no one liked Geeta's initial team.
I agree with Leon anime team being the team, he should have, but I would definitely remove Charizard since he would feel so out of place I think dragpult should be the ace (give him a Gmax form) and Charizard should be removed. Replaced with another galar Pokémon. I go for toxtricity.
My boy Wallace is the ONLY type specialist champion that ACTUALLY uses only Pokémon of said type. (Then again, Steven’s team has a THEME rather than a set TYPE so he could also apply for this, but then pretty much everyone would so.) also I love Wallace
@@KazShiro There is a difference, Larry worked both at the same time. Wallace transitioned from gym leader to champion (like Iris after him). We also know about him being a contest champ but we really only see that executed in the anime so I think people are less likely to count that
For me I’d fix Lance this way: Rather than giving him an Espeon for Aerodactyl, I’d swap out the second Dragonite for Lapras and there’s a few reasons why: 1. Aerodactyl is his one member not weak to rock of his original team and adds the rock stab diversity so removing it seems like a net negative 2. Espeon is already used by Red in Gold and Silver, and while he does use Lapras after, it’d be a weird bit of overlap for a Pokémon that’s not even a dragon and shouldn’t really be on the team in the first place 3. Lapras is based on a Plesiosaur-a large ancient aquatic dinosaur which is dragon adjacent enough to be let on the team on just theming alone 4. No one in the main game uses Lapras on a team, so such a memorable Gen 1 Pokémon getting used on his team would be nice 5. It’s movepool is insane: Ice Beam, Blizzard, Surf, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Perish Song, etc are all amazing moves. Not many Pokémon get a movepool this good so it’d be nice for Lance to put it to good use. 6. Lapras 1/4x resists Ice and can’t be frozen, which considering his ace Pokémon is Dragonite provides a good switch of Lance can reasonably guess he’ll take an ice type attack. 7. The original weakness of Lance’s original team were Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Water and Lapras does well at least offensively or defensively, if not both ways, against all of them. 8. Lapras one of the kindest Pokémon and helps establish Lance’s heroic character
You bring up some very solid points. I was considering Lapras but since it's been awhile since I've played Gold & Silver, I had forgotten that no gym leaders or elite four members used a Lapras with the only notable trainer using one being Red in HGSS. That's a very good call.

In Gen 2 when Lance is champion, she’s nowhere, not an Elite 4 member (even though Bruno’s still there, wtf?), she’s not even a gym leader, she’s just gone. Every appearance with Lance as Champion, Lorelei is nowhere to be found. If you NEED an explanation as to how Lance has a Lapras when they’re so rare (even though dude already has several rare pokémon without explanation) you could say either that Lance was inspired by Lorelei’s Lapras and wanted one for himself or you could write that between generations Lorelei retired and gave Lance her Lapras since she knew it loved to battle and Lance would be able to provide that as Champion.
I appreciate what was done for Diantha and Geeta - they deserve so much better. Cynthia's feels like a dumbed-down version, which I don't mind since I'm so sick of her popping up everywhere compared to every other Champion, so she could do with a dumbing down.

The team you gave her is great too, however, even if it breaks the theme a bit.

Fun video, the ideas you had for Wallace was very unique. Though I do have some disagreements with your Leon changes. I wouldn't remove the Sword and Shield pokemon from the Sword and Shield Champion. Also, Melony's Darmanitan does have Zen mode. Perhaps giving him a Toxtricity, because he is someone who likes to play up to the crowd, and would also give him some new type coverage.
I like your takes on Diantha's new team with Accelgor, Vaporeon, and Aegislash, but I think Hawlucha fits Diantha's career since it's a wrestler who loves to show off in front of crowds and make a spectacle. Gourgeist looks like a ghostly maiden which kinda fits Diantha. And Tyrantrum fits into the fairy tale theme of Diantha as you said.
every Champion rematch should have a couple Pokémon that has a type that matches the Elite Four. idk why they've ONLY did it with Alder, I feel like every should have at least one battle like that
I would love to see this style of video for the Rivals, as some characters have really weird Pokemon choices that don't fit their character or personalities. However some Pokemon (like Blue's Pidgeot) I think fit his Rival fight teams, but not his Champion team. So if you did Blue/Hau I think redesigning their final fight before the Champion fight would be more interesting than just redoing the champion battle again. Great video overall, even if I disagree with some Pokemon replacements I overall really love the teams you chose and wish those were actually the champion teams we could fight.
For Diantha, I always thinked of giving her a JRPG inspired team, since the Kalos Starters already represent Warrior, Mage and Rogue characters. It's nice that your choices still fit in my idea. Ps: I'm still peeved that Diantha's Mega Gardevoir doesn't make use of it's Pixilate ability, it really represents how much X/Y had wasted potential.
Cynthia was the only champion I've actually had to plan a strategy with in beating. And even then i nearly lost. Her milotic vs my grass knot clefable was a crazy back and fourth since we both can recover
Just one thing i like to say about Nemona's team, and it is towards her starter. I'm sticking with what you said and to keep it the weaker starter to the player's starter, but then Nemona whould throw in one last curveball and give it a teratype that's super effective and to give it Terablast. Making it her one last test for you to beat.
Oh lawd. Geeta should have used glimmora as her first pokemon to set up toxic spikes then used kingambit as her ace to take advantage of the stat boosts
Blue’s team shouldn’t be changed. Rhydon is a much more impressive Pokémon than Nidoqueen in terms of stats, and really isn’t champion material given how easy they are to find. Pidgeot is a bad Pokémon sure, but is important to Blue’s character arc, and is his lead in every other battle, likely the first Pokémon he caught. That’s the issue with messing with Blue’s team really. An important aspect of it is watching it grow alongside your team, so changing his champion team would have ripple effects on the rest of the game.

Though since he deals with fliers, the Espeon addition could be a gift from the Kimono Sisters as originally they felt Lance was the chosen person to meet Ho-oh/Lugia. They aren’t free kills? Roselia could put things to sleep and heal back its health. Dragonair can paralyze opponents with thunder wave. Makes the fight more annoying and gives him a little type variety to not be destroyed by grass & electric types but okay lol
@@kdog_0731 my main point is that they just have low stats and would be very easy to prepare for as all you'd need is a single ice move and then you don't have to worry at all about them. I'm sure they work in theory but even if you have neutral damage they aren't strong enough to take many hits or do much more than inconvenience you, especially since GrassWhistle is by no means consistent at 55 accuracy.

lance's new team seems a bit weird to me. clair's ace is kingdra and their battles aren't too far apart. it would make clair's battle and her as a character extremely forgetable imo
Imo I’d rather Lance have a Kingdra replace one of his Dragonites. 3 Dragonites is way too excessive and his team has massive weaknesses of ice and rock. I don’t necessarily think Lance having a Kingdra would make Clair’s character forgettable since Lance is most known for his Dragonites since in almost every scene he’s in, he has one of his Dragonites following him, whether at the Lake of Rage or in the shop where Team Rocket’s hideout is.

I think her team was meant to show off biomes of Paldea: Espathra: Desert Veluza: Sea Gogoat: Plains Avalugg: Icy Mountain Kingambit: Bamboo forest Glimmora: Area Zero/Caves I feel like if you stick with that theme though, she could add Cetitan over Avalugg and Arboliva or Scovillain over Gogoat. I’d probably also like to see her use Dondozo or Tatsugiri over Veluza. Palafin still probably fits best though and we both had the same idea of leading Palafin and flip turn into Glimmora. I’d like to see Palafin Tera too, she could still make it Tera Rock for some reason lmao. My issue with Kingambit being her last out is that it isn’t solely gen 9 line, evolving from a gen 5 Mon. Cynthia by design is a boss rush of past gym leader and champion team aces. Roserade and Lucario are the ace Pokémon of two Sinnoh gym leaders and Milotic is Wallace’s ace. Roserade, Lucario, and Togekiss involve friendship evolution method while Togekiss and Roserade also involve the shiny stone. Lucario and Togekiss are only obtainable by gift eggs in the Sinnoh games. Spiritomb has a very convoluted way of obtaining it through the Underground. And the cave that Gible is found is hidden under the cycling road. Cynthia’s team is a sign of her dedication as a trainer.
But yeah i feel bad to comment as I really admire Diantha as the champion but its true that on Diantha's team there are many areas which hold her back the most in Diantha's Team i feel is that her team has greater number of weaknesses especially Aurorus have 2 time weaknesses to fighting and steel and movesets weren't that impresive Also i feel the makers should have introduced more Kalos pokemon or something and surprised us with few pokemon in Diantha's team we haven't seen before and then after defeating the champion we get access to those Pokemon as we play further The reason im saying this because Diantha is a Gen 6 Champion!! And gen six was my favourite gen
I think, Trace and Blue's teams are pretty balanced . Considering, they took Flying coverage into mind. It makes sense. Also, get rid of Lance's second Dragonite for a Kangaskhan. Oh I did a Violet playthrough with my choice of Geeta's alt team: Palafin, switch to Glimmora, send back Palafin, Gengar, Noivern, Cerulegde/Armorouge depending on the game, Kingambit.
I would give Lance Tyranitar instead of Espeon. For two reason. 1. Even if he's not part of the Dragon Egg Group, he belongs to the Monster Egg Group, which can breed with many Dragon-Type Pokémon, like Garchomp or Druddigon, so it fits him un that way. 2. Is the godddamn pseudolegendary of the region. It's the only Pokémon that, in stat terms, is as strong as Dragonite. And nobody in the Elite Four has a Tyranitar, not even the Dark-Type Specialist.

Instead of Baxcalibur for Geeta, why not Ceruledge? I mean come on! Its color scheme MATCHES Geeta's outfit almost to a tee! Besides, Hassel's ace is a Baxcalibur, so we don't need to repeat the same Pokemon to battle. For Lance, I wish you remove Lance's second Dragonite for something else, since Lance having 3 Dragonite just makes his team so uninteresting, much like the rest of the Johto Gym Leaders and maybe the new Indigo League Elite Four.
Cynthia's team without Milotic is a bit odd ... Like Leon's team without Dragapult and Iris' team without Hydreigon. Because Milotic is easily the hardest Pokemon in Sinnoh to obtain after Snorlax, so her having a Milotic with an EGG MOVE, whose breeding partner CAN'T BE FOUND IN SINNOH (Corsola, occurs only in swarms and outside Sinnoh region, in battle frontier region), was absolutely shocking for me.

This makes me want to share some of my champion teams including my custom one, except… I’m more about Moveset Optimization rather than swapping partners away outright.
The Elite 4 and Geeta represent the five Titans in the Path of Legends story(Ground, Steel, Flying, Dragon and Rock). Also, Annihilape is used by Eri of Team Star, Baxcalber is used as Hassel's ace and Firagarif is used by Tulip and Game Freak never overlaps Pokemon with major trainers.
But they gave Espathra to Geeta even though Tulip also has one. The same with Veluza, which she shares with Kofu. I think Grusha also has an Avalugg, which adds more to the overlapping thing.

I will admit Mewtwo was a little out there and a bit of a stretch. And yeah when you really think about it, Nidoking should’ve been chosen for that Nidoqueen contrast. It was also tricky with the Kakui & the Masked Royal situation since it’s never explicitly confirmed nor states that Kakui is or isn’t the Masked Royal. Sources like Bulbadpedia say he does use that alias at the Battle Royal Dome in the games & the anime but people have interpreted their own theories into the big picture. If you have a source that confirms Kamui and the Masked Royal are two different people, I’d be happy to check it out.

Yes, Blue’s team is vastly different in Yellow but even if I accounted for Yellow, my fixed team would mostly stay the same, except for the starter Eevee compared to Blastoise. Plus Yellow is more of a remake of Red & Blue that adapts the anime’s story into the game whereas Red & Blue are the canon Kanto games.
Though, in terms of story, having Red’s ace in GSC and HGSS be Pikachu is because of Ash from the anime. And letting him have all three Kanto starters simultaneously alongside Pikachu could be because Ash got all three as well. The argument could be made that Yellow is the definitive canon iteration of the story of Kanto and without trading with other cartridges, you can’t obtain another of the starters. That deals with multiverse shenanigans. The only game that lets you obtain all three starters in the games without trading with other games (meaning multiverse shenanigans) deals with Yellow, Let’s Go, and Legends Arceus. Yellow and Let’s Go because of the anime and Ash and Legends Arceus because it doesn’t prioritize trading. Also with Platinum having a different story compared to Diamond and Pearl, the anime additions in Yellow and Let’s Go shouldn’t discount their canonisity.
I get what you’re saying but there’s evidence to support & debunk Yellow being the canon Gen 1 game. Like how are you to explain that Red’s Pikachu would be in a pokeball in GSC? Ash’s Pikachu hates them & has never been in a pokeball. The last trainer you fight in GSC is called Red and Red isn’t a name you can call your character in Yellow. Plus we see no sign of Blue’s Eevee-lution nor his RB starter in GSC. Blue’s team when he became champion in RB is almost the same as his gym leader fight in GSC, only not having his starter. If Yellow was canon, then Blue’s team in GSC would make 0 sense. Wouldn’t he have just used his Yellow team then? It’s all multiverse shenanigans that adds tons of loop holes since there’s evidence suggesting Yellow is canon and evidence suggesting Yellow is not canon.

I feel like Druddigon shouldn't be on Iris' Team cuz its kinda underwhelming, put Dragonite/Flygon in there (since she has a Dragonite in the Anime), Excadrill for archeops, maybe Tyranitar for Aggron, since it's also kinda a Behemot and puts up Sandstorm with it's ability

9:11 Your description makes no sense. You literally just described a traditional wyvern, which also describes Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl is the wyvern of Lance's team, yet you took it off. If anything Charizard is more based on how European dragons look.
Wyverns a usually depicted with no arms/forelegs and typically have hand like features in their wings. Charizard looks like it could be placed on the Welsh flag
Aerodactyl is based on the Pterosaur which may have been a flying reptile, but would not particularly be classified as a wyvern. It was only made to look like one. I wanted a team that resembled a little more of Lance’s character than just dragon types or Pokémon that looked like wyverns. I even admitted that I loved the inclusion of Aerodactyl on the team. I can love a Pokémon’s inclusion in a team and still change it.
Where do people get off calling diantha weak? she was the hardest champion i ever faced, lost to her 3 times my first x playthrough, never lost to cynthia once, and i only lost to red once.

Maybe in the champion battle he had ended up replacing Pidgeot with Tauros but then in the gym battle for Gen 2 and their remakes he brings back Pidgeot. Shows he learned to value all his Pokémon.
Hoenn is all about duality, especially between the sea and the land, so Wallace and Steven both being champions makes a lot of sense, as Steven uses land themed typings (steel, rock, ground) and Wallace uses the ocean themed type (water).

Honestly Cynthia’s team doesn’t need change😅 and even if Milotic already is in other champion’s team this pokemon fits Cynthia perfectly, it’s beautiful and powerful and Roserade is just really cool Sinnoh grass type pretty pokemon that also fits her.

I feel like most of these changes were a bit unnecessary. Maybe even forced. Like for example, Claydol for Steven is totally fine. Clay is a common component of sedimentary rocks. And as we all know, man loves all kinds of rock. Starmie is an interesting thought, though.
Oh, and Cynthia's team doesn't need changes, it's perfectly fine as it is. Especially not with Gengar, it's extremely overused.
Also, changing Nemona's team was unnecessary. We were told she never used her real team against us. The one she used was just put together during our adventure. Perhaps in the second DLC, we will see her real team.
Overall. Cool ideas, but I'd rather stick with what we got. Except for Geeta, what they did with her was truly an art of how to not make a champion team.

Just some of the choices you made came with deleting some that were already fine. Like, Diantha's changes were brilliant. They fit her actress side so much better and could make her more challenging to beat. Although I'm not a fan of giving her Aegislash, it's always weird for me to give champion the ace of its own E4 member.
But then, that reasoning for Wallace's team could work for literally every single Pokemon. We may not think that Tentacruel fits in the cool category, but who can say if everyone thinks the same? It's all relative. We can create all sorts of creative movesets based on contest types, including those that were discarded. Oh, and the Dragonair. I see that you are aware of that one though, so I see no need to repeat what others said.

Lance: Espeon? I have to put a hard 'disagree' for that one. Lance is a Dragon Tamer and nothing about Espeon says 'Dragon'. Sure, he's honorable and values friendship, literally so does every Champion. Use Tyranitar instead of Aerodactyl if you want a good counter for Ice Types because Lance using an Espeon just feels like it goes against his whole theme.
Wallace: While I can see what you're going for, this makes Wallace's team even more of a cakewalk. Roselia is not a good Pokemon and really needed Roserade to become actually decent. Dragonair is also not good without being a Dragonite. Crawdaunt is okay, but it really doesn't offer much. If it were up to me, I'd swap Whiscash for Swampert (because it's a more powerful Water/Ground Type) and Wailord for Starmie.
Cynthia: Look, I'm all for changing up the team, but Azumarill and Gengar?
Azumarill is very slow and even with Huge Power, without a Belly Drum setup, it wouldn't be getting anywhere. Plus, not being a Fairy Type in Gen 4 hinders its coverage. Any good Water or Grass Type would wall it like Gastrodon or Tangrowth. And yes, Azumarill does get Ice Punch, but then you're relying on its very slow speed instead of priority Aqua Jet. Milotic on the other hand at least can be useful instantly and has decent enough speed and bulk to remain on the field for an extended period of time, plus having recovery. But if Milotic doesn't work, then Gastrodon is also fine. It's a very good Pokemon also fulfilling the same tank role as Milotic. Unlike Azumarill and Milotic, Gastrodon is a Sinnoh Pokemon so it works even better.
Gengar overlaps with Spiritomb in terms of type and Poison isn't don't anything since it's only super effective on Grass here. It feels very redundant especially since Lucario and Togekiss are very powerful special attackers anyways. Roserade should just stay since otherwise the team has no coverage against Water Types.
Diantha: The reason you want Accelgor is pretty much the same reason why Hawlucha is on her team. It's also a show-off movie star Pokemon. Hawlucha should just stay.
Leon: Not that I hate this new team, but I'd throw a curveball and give Leon his anime team. Dragapult, Mr. Rime, all three starters and Charizard. It feels in-character for Leon, as the Galar Champion superstar athlete to have all three starters that represent his region and all the trainers from Galar.
Nemona: You said at the start of her section that you want her team to give you a tough battle and decided to give her Lokix and Oricorio, two Pokemon with pretty bad BSTs and are overall not good Pokemon for a Champion-level fight. I think Goodra should stay because at least one Pseudo-Legendary is the standard fare for a Champion. Gholdengo is a good choice. Arboliva is not a good Pokemon, having terrible typing and being incredibly slow. It's not the worst, but we can do better. Instead of Lokix, let her lead with Kilowattrel. It's pretty common for rivals to have the regional bird and Kilowattrel at least has the speed to strike first, either attacking hard with Thunderbolt or setting up Tailwind. Then add Cyclizar. It's Shed Tail combo actually gives it purpose, allowing Nemona to set up into another Pokemon. Nemona would use it to travel around Paldea alike to you using Koraidon/Miraidon. So the team would be Kilowattrel/Goodra/Cyclizar/Gholdengo/Pawmot/Starter. This team would be either very speedy or powerful, making it a much tougher battle.
All the others I agree with more or less. I don't know about N. I think his original team is completely fine, but he has no practical theme, so this new team can't really be said for better or for worse. I think my favorite is Alder's new team, pretty much a perfect rework.
I understand the changes you’d make, but I wanted more out of these teams than just BST and stats. I’d rather have teams be more reflective of their character than being a challenge.

Thus I feel like one part of a Champion's team is to feel strong and intimidating. That's pretty much the biggest reason no one liked Geeta's initial team.
I agree with Leon anime team being the team, he should have, but I would definitely remove Charizard since he would feel so out of place I think dragpult should be the ace (give him a Gmax form) and Charizard should be removed. Replaced with another galar Pokémon. I go for toxtricity.

For me I’d fix Lance this way:
Rather than giving him an Espeon for Aerodactyl, I’d swap out the second Dragonite for Lapras and there’s a few reasons why:
1. Aerodactyl is his one member not weak to rock of his original team and adds the rock stab diversity so removing it seems like a net negative
2. Espeon is already used by Red in Gold and Silver, and while he does use Lapras after, it’d be a weird bit of overlap for a Pokémon that’s not even a dragon and shouldn’t really be on the team in the first place
3. Lapras is based on a Plesiosaur-a large ancient aquatic dinosaur which is dragon adjacent enough to be let on the team on just theming alone
4. No one in the main game uses Lapras on a team, so such a memorable Gen 1 Pokémon getting used on his team would be nice
5. It’s movepool is insane: Ice Beam, Blizzard, Surf, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Perish Song, etc are all amazing moves. Not many Pokémon get a movepool this good so it’d be nice for Lance to put it to good use.
6. Lapras 1/4x resists Ice and can’t be frozen, which considering his ace Pokémon is Dragonite provides a good switch of Lance can reasonably guess he’ll take an ice type attack.
7. The original weakness of Lance’s original team were Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Water and Lapras does well at least offensively or defensively, if not both ways, against all of them.
8. Lapras one of the kindest Pokémon and helps establish Lance’s heroic character
You bring up some very solid points. I was considering Lapras but since it's been awhile since I've played Gold & Silver, I had forgotten that no gym leaders or elite four members used a Lapras with the only notable trainer using one being Red in HGSS. That's a very good call.
Uh, small correction Aerodactyl is weak to rock as it's rock/flying and rock doesn't resist itself

First Elite Four Member of Gen 1, disproves point 4 as she does have a Lapras as her ace.

In Gen 2 when Lance is champion, she’s nowhere, not an Elite 4 member (even though Bruno’s still there, wtf?), she’s not even a gym leader, she’s just gone. Every appearance with Lance as Champion, Lorelei is nowhere to be found. If you NEED an explanation as to how Lance has a Lapras when they’re so rare (even though dude already has several rare pokémon without explanation) you could say either that Lance was inspired by Lorelei’s Lapras and wanted one for himself or you could write that between generations Lorelei retired and gave Lance her Lapras since she knew it loved to battle and Lance would be able to provide that as Champion.
I appreciate what was done for Diantha and Geeta - they deserve so much better.
Cynthia's feels like a dumbed-down version, which I don't mind since I'm so sick of her popping up everywhere compared to every other Champion, so she could do with a dumbing down.

Lucario and Togekiss are gift egg-only, Garchomp is just rare like pseudo-legendaries tend to be, Milotic is hard to find _and_ changes its location every day and Spiritomb requires a lot of steps to summon it. The team you gave her is great too, however, even if it breaks the theme a bit.

Fun video, the ideas you had for Wallace was very unique. Though I do have some disagreements with your Leon changes. I wouldn't remove the Sword and Shield pokemon from the Sword and Shield Champion. Also, Melony's Darmanitan does have Zen mode. Perhaps giving him a Toxtricity, because he is someone who likes to play up to the crowd, and would also give him some new type coverage.

Gourgeist looks like a ghostly maiden which kinda fits Diantha. And Tyrantrum fits into the fairy tale theme of Diantha as you said.

every Champion rematch should have a couple Pokémon that has a type that matches the Elite Four. idk why they've ONLY did it with Alder, I feel like every should have at least one battle like that
I would love to see this style of video for the Rivals, as some characters have really weird Pokemon choices that don't fit their character or personalities. However some Pokemon (like Blue's Pidgeot) I think fit his Rival fight teams, but not his Champion team. So if you did Blue/Hau I think redesigning their final fight before the Champion fight would be more interesting than just redoing the champion battle again.
Great video overall, even if I disagree with some Pokemon replacements I overall really love the teams you chose and wish those were actually the champion teams we could fight.

Cynthia was the only champion I've actually had to plan a strategy with in beating. And even then i nearly lost. Her milotic vs my grass knot clefable was a crazy back and fourth since we both can recover
Just one thing i like to say about Nemona's team, and it is towards her starter. I'm sticking with what you said and to keep it the weaker starter to the player's starter, but then Nemona whould throw in one last curveball and give it a teratype that's super effective and to give it Terablast. Making it her one last test for you to beat.

Blue’s team shouldn’t be changed. Rhydon is a much more impressive Pokémon than Nidoqueen in terms of stats, and really isn’t champion material given how easy they are to find. Pidgeot is a bad Pokémon sure, but is important to Blue’s character arc, and is his lead in every other battle, likely the first Pokémon he caught.
That’s the issue with messing with Blue’s team really. An important aspect of it is watching it grow alongside your team, so changing his champion team would have ripple effects on the rest of the game.

@@kdog_0731 my main point is that they just have low stats and would be very easy to prepare for as all you'd need is a single ice move and then you don't have to worry at all about them. I'm sure they work in theory but even if you have neutral damage they aren't strong enough to take many hits or do much more than inconvenience you, especially since GrassWhistle is by no means consistent at 55 accuracy.

lance's new team seems a bit weird to me. clair's ace is kingdra and their battles aren't too far apart. it would make clair's battle and her as a character extremely forgetable imo
Imo I’d rather Lance have a Kingdra replace one of his Dragonites. 3 Dragonites is way too excessive and his team has massive weaknesses of ice and rock. I don’t necessarily think Lance having a Kingdra would make Clair’s character forgettable since Lance is most known for his Dragonites since in almost every scene he’s in, he has one of his Dragonites following him, whether at the Lake of Rage or in the shop where Team Rocket’s hideout is.

I like your changes to Geeta as well. I think her team was meant to show off biomes of Paldea:

I feel like if you stick with that theme though, she could add Cetitan over Avalugg and Arboliva or Scovillain over Gogoat. I’d probably also like to see her use Dondozo or Tatsugiri over Veluza. Palafin still probably fits best though and we both had the same idea of leading Palafin and flip turn into Glimmora. I’d like to see Palafin Tera too, she could still make it Tera Rock for some reason lmao. My issue with Kingambit being her last out is that it isn’t solely gen 9 line, evolving from a gen 5 Mon. Cynthia by design is a boss rush of past gym leader and champion team aces. Roserade and Lucario are the ace Pokémon of two Sinnoh gym leaders and Milotic is Wallace’s ace. Roserade, Lucario, and Togekiss involve friendship evolution method while Togekiss and Roserade also involve the shiny stone. Lucario and Togekiss are only obtainable by gift eggs in the Sinnoh games. Spiritomb has a very convoluted way of obtaining it through the Underground. And the cave that Gible is found is hidden under the cycling road. Cynthia’s team is a sign of her dedication as a trainer.
Roserade is also technically a friendship pokemon if she evolved it from Budew.
There are exactly two champion teams that are already perfect: Cynthia in Platinum and Kieran.
But yeah i feel bad to comment as I really admire Diantha as the champion but its true that on Diantha's team there are many areas which hold her back the most in Diantha's Team i feel is that her team has greater number of weaknesses especially Aurorus have 2 time weaknesses to fighting and steel and movesets weren't that impresive
Also i feel the makers should have introduced more Kalos pokemon or something and surprised us with few pokemon in Diantha's team we haven't seen before and then after defeating the champion we get access to those Pokemon as we play further
The reason im saying this because Diantha is a Gen 6 Champion!!

Considering, they took Flying coverage into mind. It makes sense.

Oh I did a Violet playthrough with my choice of Geeta's alt team: Palafin, switch to Glimmora, send back Palafin, Gengar, Noivern, Cerulegde/Armorouge depending on the game, Kingambit.
I would give Lance Tyranitar instead of Espeon. For two reason.
1. Even if he's not part of the Dragon Egg Group, he belongs to the Monster Egg Group, which can breed with many Dragon-Type Pokémon, like Garchomp or Druddigon, so it fits him un that way.
2. Is the godddamn pseudolegendary of the region. It's the only Pokémon that, in stat terms, is as strong as Dragonite. And nobody in the Elite Four has a Tyranitar, not even the Dark-Type Specialist.

I agree with switching out Roserade, either with Gengar or Mismagius. I agree Gengar is the stringer choice for sure, but Mismagius could include both mystery and beauty.
It was basically a coin flip between Gengar and Mismagius lol but they can both work very well with Cynthia's team.

Instead of Baxcalibur for Geeta, why not Ceruledge? I mean come on! Its color scheme MATCHES Geeta's outfit almost to a tee! Besides, Hassel's ace is a Baxcalibur, so we don't need to repeat the same Pokemon to battle.
For Lance, I wish you remove Lance's second Dragonite for something else, since Lance having 3 Dragonite just makes his team so uninteresting, much like the rest of the Johto Gym Leaders and maybe the new Indigo League Elite Four.

Cynthia's team without Milotic is a bit odd ... Like Leon's team without Dragapult and Iris' team without Hydreigon. Because Milotic is easily the hardest Pokemon in Sinnoh to obtain after Snorlax, so her having a Milotic with an EGG MOVE, whose breeding partner CAN'T BE FOUND IN SINNOH (Corsola, occurs only in swarms and outside Sinnoh region, in battle frontier region), was absolutely shocking for me.

This makes me want to share some of my champion teams including my custom one, except… I’m more about Moveset Optimization rather than swapping partners away outright.
The Elite 4 and Geeta represent the five Titans in the Path of Legends story(Ground, Steel, Flying, Dragon and Rock). Also, Annihilape is used by Eri of Team Star, Baxcalber is used as Hassel's ace and Firagarif is used by Tulip and Game Freak never overlaps Pokemon with major trainers.
But they gave Espathra to Geeta even though Tulip also has one. The same with Veluza, which she shares with Kofu. I think Grusha also has an Avalugg, which adds more to the overlapping thing.

I will admit Mewtwo was a little out there and a bit of a stretch. And yeah when you really think about it, Nidoking should’ve been chosen for that Nidoqueen contrast.
It was also tricky with the Kakui & the Masked Royal situation since it’s never explicitly confirmed nor states that Kakui is or isn’t the Masked Royal. Sources like Bulbadpedia say he does use that alias at the Battle Royal Dome in the games & the anime but people have interpreted their own theories into the big picture. If you have a source that confirms Kamui and the Masked Royal are two different people, I’d be happy to check it out.

What about Yellow? Blue’s team in Yellow is significantly different from Red/Blue/Firered/Leafgreen and is different from Trace as well.
Yes, Blue’s team is vastly different in Yellow but even if I accounted for Yellow, my fixed team would mostly stay the same, except for the starter Eevee compared to Blastoise. Plus Yellow is more of a remake of Red & Blue that adapts the anime’s story into the game whereas Red & Blue are the canon Kanto games.
Though, in terms of story, having Red’s ace in GSC and HGSS be Pikachu is because of Ash from the anime. And letting him have all three Kanto starters simultaneously alongside Pikachu could be because Ash got all three as well. The argument could be made that Yellow is the definitive canon iteration of the story of Kanto and without trading with other cartridges, you can’t obtain another of the starters. That deals with multiverse shenanigans. The only game that lets you obtain all three starters in the games without trading with other games (meaning multiverse shenanigans) deals with Yellow, Let’s Go, and Legends Arceus. Yellow and Let’s Go because of the anime and Ash and Legends Arceus because it doesn’t prioritize trading. Also with Platinum having a different story compared to Diamond and Pearl, the anime additions in Yellow and Let’s Go shouldn’t discount their canonisity.
I get what you’re saying but there’s evidence to support & debunk Yellow being the canon Gen 1 game. Like how are you to explain that Red’s Pikachu would be in a pokeball in GSC? Ash’s Pikachu hates them & has never been in a pokeball. The last trainer you fight in GSC is called Red and Red isn’t a name you can call your character in Yellow. Plus we see no sign of Blue’s Eevee-lution nor his RB starter in GSC. Blue’s team when he became champion in RB is almost the same as his gym leader fight in GSC, only not having his starter. If Yellow was canon, then Blue’s team in GSC would make 0 sense. Wouldn’t he have just used his Yellow team then? It’s all multiverse shenanigans that adds tons of loop holes since there’s evidence suggesting Yellow is canon and evidence suggesting Yellow is not canon.

Your description makes no sense. You literally just described a traditional wyvern, which also describes Aerodactyl.
Aerodactyl is the wyvern of Lance's team, yet you took it off. If anything Charizard is more based on how European dragons look.
Wyverns a usually depicted with no arms/forelegs and typically have hand like features in their wings.
Charizard looks like it could be placed on the Welsh flag
Aerodactyl is based on the Pterosaur which may have been a flying reptile, but would not particularly be classified as a wyvern. It was only made to look like one. I wanted a team that resembled a little more of Lance’s character than just dragon types or Pokémon that looked like wyverns. I even admitted that I loved the inclusion of Aerodactyl on the team. I can love a Pokémon’s inclusion in a team and still change it.
