🏡✨Whether you're a fan of luxury homes, interested in celebrity real estate, or simply fascinated by the allure of Marilyn Monroe, this video is a must-watch. Join us as we open the doors to the past and invite you inside the Marilyn Monroe house in Los Angeles.
Marilyn Monroe, the name synonymous with Hollywood glamour, was a complex individual far beyond the "dumb blonde" roles she often portrayed. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson in 1926, her childhood was marked by instability and hardship. Shuttling through foster homes and orphanages, she lacked a secure and loving environment.
Despite her struggles, Monroe possessed an undeniable charisma and beauty. This caught a photographer's eye in 1944, launching her modeling career. Soon, she set her sights on Hollywood, transforming herself into the blonde bombshell the world would recognize. Her early films capitalized on her captivating looks, placing her in stereotypical comedic roles.
Monroe, however, craved more depth in her craft. She battled against being typecast and enrolled in acting classes, honing her talent and dramatic potential. She formed her own production company, defying the limitations placed upon her by major studios. Films like "Bus Stop" and "The Misfits" showcased her growth as an actress.
Monroe's personal life was as captivating as her on-screen persona. Her marriages to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller were highly publicized, scrutinized, and ultimately short-lived. Rumors of affairs and alleged ties to powerful figures like President John F. Kennedy further fueled the public's fascination and speculation.
Tragically, Monroe's life was cut short at the young age of 36. Her death, attributed to a barbiturate overdose, remains shrouded in mystery. Despite the controversies surrounding her, Marilyn Monroe's cultural impact is undeniable. Her image continues to grace magazine covers and inspire artists worldwide. Her legacy extends beyond her captivating beauty, representing the complex realities women face in the film industry and the enduring allure of Hollywood's golden age.

The city should buy it from the current owners and turn it into a Mini Museum. They could have her room with her personal belongings as a kind of exhibit, living room as a mini movie theatre that plays her Movies on repeat and maybe guest rooms for accommodation (People from all over the world will surely want to spend big bucks to stay at her last home). @SuperNevile 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

Interesting. Do the neighbours have any say in what is rebuilt on a plot? Just asking, because in England the neighbours have a say in any planning application because of access or blockage of light reasons. Style and size are also considered and whether neighbouring properties are overlooked. I don't know if that applies in LA/USA. In LA it seems that beautiful houses can be demolished and replaced with McMansions just because someone can afford it. Incidently MM's house looks absolutely beautiful, and an oasis in what looks like a high density neighbourhood.

Decades ago, toured the place during a realtor's open house. The sellers had made some strange "improvements". Art Nouveau style-stained glass windows, several places inside the house, being the most jarring. It's a really beautiful place, built in 1929, reputedly on the largest lot in that section of the neighborhood. Her bathroom was a marvel - with original cobalt blue tiles. As this video shows, a subsequent owner "remodeled" the bathroom & tore out all the tiles. Now looks like one from Motel 6; it's that bad from what was there. Really hope the place survives - both for its architecture & as a memorial to Monroe.

Definitely preserved and turned into a low key-museum visitor-wise. The museum could sell tickets with specific date and time slots, and control visitors, limiting visitation to three days a week, or so on. To me, it’s a beautiful home which represents the unique style of Los Angeles perfectly, as do The Beach Boys.

Years before MM became an icon and just a few years after her death I went to that house. I was just a young teenager but I was absolutely fascinated by this amazing woman and wanted to see where she lived and died. I was surprised at how ordinary it looked from the street. In fact it was just a regular street. Nice but nothing special about it. I stood at the gate and saw the word NO painted in black very visible on the front wall near the main entrance. I thought that was super odd and have wondered about it ever since.

it should definitely be preserved as a museum. though i no longer live in LA, i remember how disappointing it was to discover that almost none of the homes of the dozen or so biggest stars were not bought and preserved by either the studios or the families of the stars. not having preserved the homes of the biggest legends sort of wakes one up to the whole illusionary aspect of hollywood. it's like no one realized how much the fans could appreciate and connect with that last point of contact with actors they so admired from afar. there is something about it which feels like a betrayal as is alluded to in the film the day of the locust. as it turns out it is all as much about business and profits as it is about anything else. being able to see and visit the former homes of deceased hollywood biggest stars is much better than invading the privacy of current stars by taking bus tours which point out their homes while they are still there living in them.. visiting a home which has been preserved as a museum is more appropriate than running into stars in person somewhere and expecting them to fraternize with total strangers though the strangers might consider themselves to be fans.

Someone could VRBO it. Restore it and redecorate it first to her 1960s era. Someone has done that with Frank Sinatras Palm Spring's property and it is such fun! It is like stepping back into that cool 1960s era; you step into a time warp. It is very expensive per night but wow how memorable. It is like you expect Frank Sinatra to stroll by the a martini in hand of course, out by the pool. I bet people who pay for that with Marilyn's house. BUT the proper decor is HUGE!

🇬🇧 Here in the UK we try to preserve historically important sites. You can join the National Trust to visit Paul McCartney and John Lennon's childhood homes. You need to book a slot . These homes are just very small houses in Liverpool. Many NT houses are huge, but some are just small beautifully preserved houses. Ie. Mr. Straw's house nr Sheffield , the Back to Back houses in Birmingham.
This is why people want to visit the UK. Welcome to the UK 🇬🇧

It should be preserved, because this is where she died. If she would have purchased the home, and then sold it to purchase another home, then the home wouldn't be, so significant. By the way, I love the wrought iron exterior enclosing the casement windows, which not only serves as a security mechanism, it also serves as a plant holder, and safeguard against cracking your head open, if the casement window is open, and you lift your head below the edge of the iron framed of the window.🤯🤕
