      You're supposed to use a burlap sack on the slide. We have a blue colored slide like that still in use at Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay Wisconsin. But ours has 9 lanes to slide down. I used to ride on it a lot when I was a child in the 1980's & 1990's and it's still being used today. I don't know when it was built, but looking at historical satellite views it looks like it was sometime between 1960 and 1971.

    Chris, you just needed a burlap sack to slide down on. The Train, the Tornado, and the Totem Pole all looked OK. The rest of the park looked like I feel: It was cool and amazing and good looking in it's day but now it's old and crap. Love your videos!

      It’s probably been written off as unsafe for commercial use due to flood damage and cannot be insured anymore. Just my guess.

    • @trainzguy2472
      @trainzguy2472 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Flood damaged cars are basically scrap. The water and silt just screws up the electronics so bad that no amount of repair will fix all the issues. Maybe flood damaged amusement park rides are the same.

      But just wanted to tell you a tree size isnt a good indicator of age
      I have an oak tree in my front yard that my mother planted in 1977 this tree is so big that i cant wrap my arms around the trunk
      The reason it grew so big so fast is because it has been getting nutrients from a septic tank bleeder line i often ask people to guess the age of the tree

    Brandywine Picnic Park? That was opened when I moved down here and that was in 2017. It was marketed to kids and camps, so I never felt the need to go. The tropical storm that came through did allot of damage to nearby towns. I had a roommate whose house along the creek was destroyed. He was only able to salvage a few things. I only would have had damage to my car had I not moved it out of the street that day. The street was dry minutes before, but the sudden rainfall brought a deluge of water down the hillside. The backyard became a river for a few hours from a creek that barely has any water flowing through.

    They use to use burlap sacks to ride on back in the day, which made it better so you would slide fast and not burn you butt....lol...

      That's how it's still done today at one that has 9 lanes to slide down. At Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay Wisconsin. I rode on it a lot in the 1980's and 1990's. Looking at old satellite views, it was built sometime between 1960 and 1971.

    I never understand why people can just leave all the equipment and no on bothers to take it out. Nor does the city make the owners take it out, sad.
