- The Sleighton Farm School was a reformatory school for delinquent children. This massive campus closed in 2001 and has sat abandoned ever since.

I'll never understand why people have to destroy stuff. Spray paint, graffiti is stupid, but to destroy things is puzzling. Other people might want to look at the stuff left behind.
I think it is probably an exhilarating release of pent up anger for goofball teens who don't know how to manage their emotions. I'm not condoning it. They should not do it.
Because smashing shlt is cathartic af
A reflection of failed parenting
Its a shame people can't mind their own business and leave things alone. There's no reason to vandalized and put crap graffiti all over everything they find abandoned 😡
A newspaper article from 1930 says a girl named Virginia Brown, 16 years old, was sent to Sleighton by the courts.
She had stolen $5.50 from someone and boughten a dress. Her Father made her return the dress and repay the $5.50 to the victim.
The Father also said that Virginia was a runaway. He said his wife was in the hospital dying of cancer, so it was hard to take care of Virginia.
How sad.
$101.57 today, according to a random inflation calculator. I was just curious.
Today, mass groups of kids raid stores, store all the stuff, and don't get charged at all
I went there this past Sunday, parked at the school. But before I could film, security pulled up next to my car and told me I was on private property, that I had to leave. He did let me take a couple of photos, though. I then went and parked at Sleighton Park and was able to get in that way, but you saw and filmed a lot more than I did. Great job as always Chris!!
It's amazing that only after 20 years that place could become so desolate. Hell..I was only 24 when that place closed. It doesn't feel that long ago.
Still loving your videos all these years later, you never have had a bad video. Love your work, brother!
Abandoned or not, it doesn't mean you have to destroy the buildings, especially a church.
What's really a shame is how the stinking taggers, and vandels have trashed the place!
Thankful you have someone with you for guys be safe
The windows in bathrooms back then had thick frosted block glass that could not be looked through or could not see a shadow either. As far as the bath tubs where it was set up for the younger children so that caregivers could make sure the children where kept safe. Usually one care giver per every few children.
Thank you, Chris! ❤
Hi Jay. The church was epic with all of the stonework. So sad everything is trashed. Thanks for the tour.
That’s sad that people would vandalize a church
Yeah it is sad😢 apparently they thought it was cool though.
religion is cancer 🤷 oh well thoughts & prayers
People always seem to want to leave their signature on things! 🤷🏼♀️Must have a lot to say!!
I investigated one where someone painted a pentagram on the podium. I was there doing a paranormal investigation. The priest hung himself.
@@Chaotic-Demise77 thoughts & prayers 🤷
I bet the gym was a hot box in the summer and a freezer in the winter. How miserable for the students and teacher.
You said there's still ivy like they planted ivy in the green house.😂
That's a huge pool. I love it.
Shut up
Yet another great video, thank you for never letting me lose interest in your videos. I've been watching your videos since about 2015.
Everyone stay safe out there during these traitorous times.
We as Americans throw so much money away. In some places around the world they persevere their history and use them for other things.
Lets just hope the graffiti crew dont want to be tattooists 😂😂
Love the videos, man. Live in Atlanta, GA. Been a while but I’m glad to see you posting! Stay safe, brotha.
Thanks man
That is just awful I don't understand the destruction
I love learning the history of these old places. Thanks for taking us with you on this adventure.
What was a beautiful Christian compound. So sad to see this😢. I graduated high school in 1970. Would never thought about defacing any thing, especially a church.
Same here.
This is giving me children of the corn 🌽 type vibes
So they couldn't pay to keep the place running -- well, 300 acres must have some serious property taxes! Who has been paying that for years? Can you imagine what would happen to you with your 1/4-acre lot and house is you just stopped paying your property taxes????
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
Surely with all the buildings and land something could have been done?? A hospice with places for families to stay. Anything rather than let it go like this. It’s so heartbreaking to see what they’ve done especially to the Church. I can understand that if misbehaving girls were sent there they’d hate it but to do that to the buildings IS criminal and it’s about time it started to be treated as such. Oh if I had the money I’d renovate it and make it something to be proud of again
Yes only in America do we just leave places to rot , could have been adapted in to so many things housing ,a college university campus what a disgusting waste happens all over the United states costs more money to tear these places down than if they were repurposed!
@@michaelmcenery7515 oh it happens in the UK too. Mansions worth millions etc. Just something got me about this place maybe the church standing there so strong on the outside and literally trashed
I agree with you totally these buildings have stood for years some hundreds and to leave them to rot is disgusting so much could be done with them. Especially with the homeless people in the UK and US etc
Why do people feel the need to vandalise and destroy these old buildings. Just go in, look around, document them and leave them intact. I will never understand the destruction.
Pretty chapel & grounds. I remember these schools for girls being around in my youth. NY/NJ.
I live in Pennsylvania and happy to see you doing videos like this even though I enjoy all your videos. As always, keep up the great work and always looking forward to your next adventure.
Thanks for sharing,👍🤓👍❤️🫶❤️
At 26:07 it looks like someone moving in the window across the yard in the other building.
I saw it too
Possible shadow figure ghost??
Could have been the other guy he's with in another part of the building recording his own video.
The number of abandoned pianos I've seen in places like this is remarkable. Those things weren't cheap. But back in day, it seemed every small rural town seemed to have a piano manufacturing company whose details almost always get lost to time, leaving the rotting corpses of their products being the sole fleeting evidence of their existence.
love your content chris.ty for taking us along 🙌
I wonder if graffiti vandals graffiti up the place where they live. Do the vandals buy spray paint for the express purpose of vandalizing other peoples property?
Enjoy your vids, you and your family work hard, looks like a class operation. Good luck on a summer of growing.
Looks like the people of this place have been gone alot longer than 20 years. Wonder how come they didn't sell it or even if they did, why didn't it sell? Very interesting place.
based on the graffiti and vandalism, the delinquents are still present here
Did anyone else see that person walking on the other side of the building. I hope it was Jay 😮
yes I saw him was wondering the same thing
strange that all the lawns are mowed
I remember this school too . All the bad kids went there
That’s the expression all our parents used.
We had places like that in Florida they were called reform schools. They were really bad and now have all closed down. They always start off with the right idea and then it all goes bad. This place was huge it must have cost a fortune to keep it up and pay the staff alone. Thanks for sharing .
Maybe ive watched way too many horror movies but you and Jay are brave for going down those super dark halls and stairs. I kept thinking someone was going to jump out at any second
wow, ty very interesting
This place reminds of the complex in Concord, N.C, Andrew Jackson school for boys. Detention facility.
Retro Burger King with food that's also as good as it used to be.
It's way beyond me why , these places have to be vandalized by disrespectful people , and why they cannot control themselves !!! Would be great if they respected others property , so it could be enjoyed by other's 🧐
Its almost like they are wiping out our history.
Vandal’s make me sick! Cool video bro! ❤️👍🤘
I really really hate vandals and spraycans
USED TO BE a gorgeous building. Sad 😢, the state it’s in now.
How many acres? What a waste of space. What a shame.
most religious institutions are
I eagerly anticipate the day I discover that the boarding school where I spent my teenage years has been abandoned.
That is a beautiful church
Very interesting
Those Pfaff sewing machines are industrial models that are very expensive. I wonder if they were making garments for commercial sale. Makes sense?
Cool
Looks like Los Alamos after an A bomb test. There was a lot of reusable stuff in there at one point. What a waste.
What was wasted?
@@peachyrider9987 Well all the equipment and books in there for starters. Hence the expression "repurpose and reuse."
@@davem8836I didn't see many books. Im unsure of the equipment. What kind of equipment? Maybe a few things in the woodshop. I saw students desk.
I know they left behind lots of trash and crap ppl don't want.
The property is the cashcow.
Thanks for your reply.
Why would people deface a beautiful chapel. That's several crosses in Gods naughty persons book.
Lol…I wonder how many kids climbed that water tower!
Wow, such destruction. People suck. Thanks for the tour. Curious as to whether anybody questioned you about being there or not. That's a pretty populated area.
14:01 .............. Mic Drop......
Very cool place!!! To bad nobody saved it. Loved the rock buildings. Thank you
I've been here many times. It wasn't all that long ago when it shut down. Many conspiracies on Sleightonsville. Delaware County is littered with history along with surrounding areas.
It's so sad to see that some people can desecrate these religious buildings and not think twice about what they are doing 😪🙏💒, from Lynda in Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
Graffiti, so much wasted ability.
The state police got me walking down the street in there and gave me a 360 dollar trespassing fine lol
That machine was a STEAMER NOT a DEEP FRYER
Guys please be careful while exploring places like this one - I bet deadly asbestos dust is everywhere!
Wow what an amazing place, i feel it has so much potential, but also unfortunately so trashed by the lower life forms of society.
love your vids but this place excels.
Beautiful Church . It’s sad that it’s not still in service.
Interesting...
What an awful thing to do to a church
No jay and chris canoe trip across the pool?😢
Was that a shadow figure at 26:06 when ya look across yhe way from the shower window?
Chris did u catch some unexplained paranormal evidence randomly?
who are the responsible to destroy buildings like that;;why they spend tax-peoples money;;for nothing;;and we talk for thousand buildings around the world.
Good Lord all the confetti, what was in there
For$500 I wouldn't even have thought about it.
man those places are trashed
I'm all for those 'Retro Prices'.
I wonder where the people are today? And how they made out?
🌻🌾🇮🇳🌾🌻
Excellent Video!
who wants a plot in a place like this ,imagine what it will look like in the future, changes interesting?? yeah for the worse.😢
Where is this at?
How sad why couldn't the county reserve the church or the state...that's history
Where Exactly in PA is this?
So 3 pianos and an electronic organ? Did you see pupesnfor the organ in the church??
Lowest you can get
HI GUYS JUST STARTING IN THIS VIDEO MAKES MY STOMACH SICK,, HOW COULD ANY ONE TREAT THIS OLD BUILDING CHURCH,,, OF ALL FAITHS LIKE THIS .. ITS STILL A HOUSE OF G D OF HOW EVER YOU PRAY ..I CAN STILL HEAR SONGS PRAYERS AND MUSIC AND WEDDING AND KIDS RUNNING AROUND DOWN STAIRS .. FAMILYS GETTING TOGETHER .. THE EVIL ART ON THE WALLS IS A SIN ,, THIS CHURCH I AM SURE CAN BE SAVED .. THANK YOUFOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS MAYBE SOMEONE WILL FIND THIS CHURCH TO BE SAVED..
go take your meds boomer 🤡 foxnews is almost on 🙄
The church is the people....not a building. I get what you're saying but we shouldn't hold church buildings.....the stone and wood.....to some special standard. The reverency of the space isn't about the architectural style or the purpose it was built....it's about its use. And as soon as it stopped being used for that purpose, it was no longer a church.
wow - there is alot of metal salvage there = a person could walk away with a fair amount of money with that metal and copper in there
At the time 26:06 was there someone else across directly across from the window you are looking from because…do you see someone from that window like I do😮
Cadê os cemitérios abandonados
Voy a visitar uno muy pronto
Desecration of the House of God.
before they theft they sure trashed the place
15:35 must have taken them a moment to figure out it was actually an apple computer they were trying to eat.
Hoodlums destroyed this place making it not as enjoyable of a watch. Yes, the average teen is a borderline psychopath, but this level of destruction shows a community full of failed parenting.
Why no more collaboration with Lamont @ Large?
Looks like asbestos lining those pipes in the restroom/baths
At the beginning you were talking about religion. Teaching 'neutral' religion as you said also can be calling nondenominational...fyi
So, 20 years ago would have been 2004. Was that the last year ppl were using it? (I'm asking bc of the title & bc of the condition of the buildings)
Thank you for the great video.👍🏼
I’m nondenominational! I believe in the Gospel and that Bible scripture interprets Bible scripture. Religion is so dicey…
@@gwengwen4535 yes! I agree.
I would be afraid to do that to a church I would be afraid God would strike me down
$1,400,000 from 1975 in today's money would be over $8,000,000 in today's money
Uncle Slayton's School?
