Bless you. Well I'm glad the family will take it, use it and hopefully look after it. And who knows? The kids moving in might get into the grand old hobby as a result. ^_^
What a great outcome! So happy for you and the buyers! I think often about what will happen if I have to move and what space I will require for hobbies. It's on the ground floor now so, fingers crossed, I can live out my days here. Looking forward to seeing the new build, Carol!
What a kind and thoughtful person. You probably didn't have many good options, carefully dismantling and transporting (down 4 floors) to a deadline would be difficult. Passing the railway on to 'new young operators' is marvellous. I'm sure they will have enormous pleasure. If that had happened to me as a kid, I would have never had gone to school again, and lived my life in that room! Will you still keep contact with them and the railway?
Thanks for your comments. I had actually got a buyer. A reseller who was going to move it for me but they too are delighted it is going to a family. They are a super family and we are happy they will have the house never mind the railway. Will we keep in touch? Who knows? But I am making sure it all works for them!
@@CarolFlavinlocoladies in the states my wife and I wanted to move but house prices skyrocketed as well as interest rates. So for time being we”re stuck. Good luck to you and husband. CHEERS
Four floors high? I've got "ok" knees, not great, but even I wouldn't tackle four floors Carol!😂 But that's a brilliant outcome for the younger family ❤❤
Hello Carol, I'm sorry to hear about the need for more knee surgery and wish you much happiness in your new home. You may like to install a home lift or stair lift in your new home. My father had a chair / stair lift and this was what made it possible for him to access the upper floor as he advanced in years. Re: the people buying your old home also keeping the model railway, I am likely to move home in the next year or so and would be thrilled to find a home that already has an OO gauge model railway, although I would hope that it can be expanded so that I can add my own buildings etc to it. At present what I have is in boxes as I dont have the space I had in a previous house.
We do have a stairlift but not to each floor!! The new house will be much more manageable and the stairlift will go with us! So very pleased the new people wanted the layout and I am leaving them some kits and extra buildings as well. Good luck with your own build.
A wonderful gesture well done
Thanks. I am really happy it will continue to be used 🙂
A wonderful outcome. So happy. CHEERS
Thanks. I was really happy when I talked to them and they expressed an interest and then said they would love to have it!

Thank you. I agree. It will be lovely to know it is being used and 🤞the whole family get involved.

I hope the move went as smoothly as possible. I know how difficult it can be. I do hope you had help. CHEERS
House selling in the uk is rubbish. Still not moved. No massive chains and no real reason. Just solicitors asking lots of questions!
