I saw MENACE II SOCIETY on its opening weekend with a capacity crowd coming from one end of the street to the other with sold-out performances. It maybe outdated by today's standards but when this movie roared into theaters in the summer of 1993,audiences got a taste of what was to come..a movie full of explicit raw language, strong explicit graphic violence scenes throughout with gore/mayhem,not to mention the ending that was so bloody and violent you may have to have a strong stomach. Yes it was a bloodbath of horror but it really told the story of what was happening for REAL in South Central Los Angeles!!!! Circa 1993.
I just realized that 1:03 is just another "aftermath" scene, look at the ending of the movie where Caine is slowly dying in the arms of Stacey and it shows O-Dog being forced in a police car because of the robbery tape, notice how its at the same night where Stacey, Anthony and Ronnie are all looking sad while talkin to the police, i just think that its a small scene.
Too many people died on the streets of LA at this time during the 90s known as the "Decade of Death" it was sooo fucken violent cops were even being murdered. 70s 80s 90 and the 2000s is when the violence slowed down but LA is still violent but not as much as it used to be. Rest in peace to the kids who were about to get out but got murdered like my friends who was only 15 along with his 4 friends in the 2000s
First u say the 90s its the decade of death then u say 70s,80s,90s n 2000s its when it slows down. U fkn make no fkn sense buddy. If what u meant was it slowed down in 2000 then ur ass needs to stay in school n learn how to write
This movie was good without a doubt. But I could not help but thought Tyrin Turner (plays Caine) was fine as hell. I was like, dang I wish I could have played Jada Pinkett's character in the love making scene with him!
There was a lot of cut stuff I wish showed up on the blu ray or online. I'm going to guess 1:03 is at the end of the movie. Which I do wonder how this scene plays out.
DemomanX614 I jus seen this a minute ago I’m like wth this scene look suspicious af like I just knew this was the aftermath scene after Kane got merked
Well the reason that scene was cut is do the fact that Caine never actually got shot, but it was just an hallucination (Ptsd from being shot the first time). However, Shariff didn't make it and Odog got arrested in that scene.
Makes me think of Pac, so tragic, especially when he told him to survive, this movie is so based on his life it is crazy, with Jada playing her role as Cains friend to her being one of Pacs real life friend, the similarities are insane
O - DOG I hear you, I come from Southern California, I could tell tragic stories for days about it, this is why I Pray for the youth, because when we leave this planet, it's in y'all hands, so all we can do is prepare you for what you may face, yea life is a beast that throws heavy blows, from experience, ain't nothing like preparation though.
a lot of people say that out of all the "hood" movies, Boyz n tha Hood is the best. I would have to disagree because Boyz n tha Hood ended on a relatively light note compared to Menace. We have main characters, Tre from Boyz survived and moved on with life but his friends died, Caine in Menace was told time and time again to stop living the life on the streets, and when he finally listened it was too late. Menace is what's real. Caine indulged in the violent life. We watched his downfall. So real
@nts712 actually, there's a few deleted scenes here: :27 seconds shows cops searching in the parking lot where Caine and O-Dog hid :28 shows a funeral (gotta be Caine's cousin) Caine crying at :53 seconds I believe is the same funeral scene 1:04 shows the aftermath of Caine's death 1:11 shows Shariff in some type of restaurant delievering lines that were cut from the movie.
Boyz n the hood is about the human spirit surviving in the ghetto. Menace is about the human spirit being consumed by the ghetto. Two different movies. Can't really compare them.
Right. Someone else pointed that out on another video. I guess they never added it in, obviously it's after Kane and his friends death, would a been nice to include in the directors cut
This movie did for the ghetto what Platoon did for Vietnam. And that's exactly what I think the Hughes Brothers intended. If Boyz N The Hood was a slap to the face, Menace II Society was a blow to the gut.
Marvin Gaye wrote that song about the Vietnam war, but it couldn't have been more appropriate for the subject matter in this film... The hood in '93 was like Nam in '67, yo!
LOL I like both movies equally probably. I like that boyz n the hood follows a kid (trey) from cali who pretty much stays on the straight path despite his surroundings. And how M2S follows another kid from cali who pretty much fell off that straight path because of those same surroundings, even still you want to see him make it. Kind of like a good and bad thing.
@BLACKFONZIRELLI I got's the director's cut blu-ray. The new footage is VERY subtle, and unless someone points it out, you probably won't even notice. Caine's father shooting the man is more graphic, as well as Caine getting shot at the end is a little more graphic. A-Wax shooting the guy at the burger joint is also more graphic. There's also a quick scene of A-Wax buying gas that wasn't in the theatrical version...and A-Wax beating up the junkie was not in the original version.
I've seen this trailer on VHS, when i was a kid... I didn't knew what the movie's name. I didn't knew english (i'm living in Russia) and... Only now i've found this in Internet. Nostalgy... :) I'm feeling now like i'm a 6 years old. Again :D Now i must see this movie :D
This was the best hood film of all time.
Jamiel Cotman not was.. It is the best realest of all Time.. The Story its fucking Truh.. All Day in South Central in the 90s
so which one was in your opinion better then this one
Possibly
Jamiel Cotman hell no
@bësure what great about city of gods?
One of the greatest movies of all time. This movie definately changed my life and the way I make choices in bad situations.
This is probably the most perfectly cut trailer for a film I have ever seen.
Probably the most powerful trailer ever, especially to"What's Going On?"
I saw MENACE II SOCIETY on its opening weekend with a capacity crowd coming from one end of the street to the other with sold-out performances. rayssonation and they yet to make any hood movie close to this
rayssonation u pushing it
one of the best movies of all time.
1:03 - the police questioning Stacy and Jada's character after Caine's death. I wish they wouldve included this part in the deleted scenes on the DVD
Notice how when the singer says "Dying" it shows the cut scene from the movie after Caines death..
That scene was supposed to actually be in the movie but it was taken out due to time constraints
i never saw the trailer to this movie before. its so fantastic!!
When i first watched this movie, the ending made me blub like a damn baby, badass film!!!
Still remember this movie to this day!!!
Too many people died on the streets of LA at this time during the 90s known as the "Decade of Death" it was sooo fucken violent cops were even being murdered.

+Makaveli The Don respect
Makaveli The Don Detroit is same the 90s had so many murders
First u say the 90s its the decade of death then u say 70s,80s,90s n 2000s its when it slows down. U fkn make no fkn sense buddy. If what u meant was it slowed down in 2000 then ur ass needs to stay in school n learn how to write
So many of the scenes in the trailer are different to what they was in the actual movie, without a doubt one of the greatest movies of all time
Wow, what a great trailer.
We seriously need another movie like this to come out again. Society needs a little bit of a shake up every decade or two.
Hadn’t seen this trailer before. It threw me off how really well edited together it is! 🔥
1:03 deleted scene after the ending!
right when that marvin gaye song came on ooooh chills up my back
This movie was good without a doubt. But I could not help but thought Tyrin Turner (plays Caine) was fine as hell. I was like, dang I wish I could have played Jada Pinkett's character in the love making scene with him!
What about me as an actor?
His cousin Harold was sexy fine😍🥰🤤🤩
Man this is one of the best movie trailers ever. The use of the Marvin Gaye track really sealed it.
this came out in 1993 same year i was born crazy how time flies by :(
There was a lot of cut stuff I wish showed up on the blu ray or online.
I'm going to guess 1:03 is at the end of the movie. Which I do wonder how this scene plays out.
DemomanX614 I jus seen this a minute ago I’m like wth this scene look suspicious af like I just knew this was the aftermath scene after Kane got merked
by far one of the best movies ever made!!! Goodfellas, American History X, Blow, and Menace II Society are by far the best 4 movies ever made!!!
this movie left me into shock at the end.
Two scenes in this trailer that wasn’t in the movie
This Is Greatest Movie of All Time
The 1994 MTV Movie Award winner for Best Movie!
This was and still is a powerful movie
The marvin gaye song definately finishes the trailer off. Such a badass movie!/
I need that scene where they’re talking to the cops after Caines death
Yes
Well the reason that scene was cut is do the fact that Caine never actually got shot, but it was just an hallucination (Ptsd from being shot the first time). However, Shariff didn't make it and Odog got arrested in that scene.
@@thejay3804caine did get shot he's dead the whole movie thats why he narrating over everthing.
@@_Rulezz He never said he had died tho and in the script he was still alive while he was being transported to the hospital.
Makes me think of Pac, so tragic, especially when he told him to survive, this movie is so based on his life it is crazy, with Jada playing her role as Cains friend to her being one of Pacs real life friend, the similarities are insane
Michael Johnson i seen people get stab I seen people get shot at I seen drive by's in front of my house I am only 12 years old and are getting shot at
O - DOG I hear you, I come from Southern California, I could tell tragic stories for days about it, this is why I Pray for the youth, because when we leave this planet, it's in y'all hands, so all we can do is prepare you for what you may face, yea life is a beast that throws heavy blows, from experience, ain't nothing like preparation though.
I'll have to watch this, it's been eons since I last did. It's in my top 3 gangsta/hood movies , the others being New Jack City and Boyz N The Hood.
Best trailer ever I swear
This and Boyz n the hood
The best and saddest hood movie ever!
Great film with outstanding performances

I swear this movie was the shit when it first came out.
Watched this last night brilliant film, and epic trailer!
The song is by Marvin Gaye "What's Going On / What's Happening Brother"
when i saw this prview in '92 my head blew off
Best hood movie ever.
I rarely watch these types of movies but it's soo good and I wonder why did they not make a a second movie
I had to watch this two times in a row ;D
thus movie bring back memories
Boyz n the hood is about the human spirit surviving in the ghetto. Menace is about the human spirit being consumed by the ghetto. Two different movies. Can't really compare them.
1:03 I dont remember that scene in the movie
Right. Someone else pointed that out on another video. I guess they never added it in, obviously it's after Kane and his friends death, would a been nice to include in the directors cut
me either
It's a deleted scene
...not even in the DIRECTORS CUT; surprisingly.
This movie did for the ghetto what Platoon did for Vietnam. And that's exactly what I think the Hughes Brothers intended.
If Boyz N The Hood was a slap to the face, Menace II Society was a blow to the gut.

love this trailer.
This is one of my favourite movies! =D
90s early 00s so goated best era ever
"being a black man in America isn't easy." Wow, kind of has stayed true especially since we got all this Trayvon business going on now.
Awesome trailer!!!
LOL I like both movies equally probably. I like that boyz n the hood follows a kid (trey) from cali who pretty much stays on the straight path despite his surroundings. Um dos melhores filmes, no gênero

Can't believe it was like 18 years ago when my sister and I went to see this at the theater.

Greatest movie of all time. No exaggeration. BTW, the dude that plays Caine reminds me of Nate Robinson.
I've seen this trailer on VHS, when i was a kid... I didn't knew what the movie's name. I didn't knew english (i'm living in Russia) and... Only now i've found this in Internet. Nostalgy... :)
