Damien’s the bomb. I’ve seen him three times, and each time was a very different show. The first time was in 2002, when he was touring for his hardest rocking album, I Break Chairs. That show also included Pedro the Lion (the band of Damien’s former Coolidge/The Guilty bandmate, David Bazan), Unwed Sailor, and T.W. Walsh. Every band had all the same members (except for Damien, who only performed during his own set).
The second time was ten years later at Chicago’s Reckless Records. For that show, he simply stood in an aisle and accompanied himself with an acoustic guitar- no amplifier and no microphone. It was beautiful. The third time was another full band show in 2016, but this one was a lot more psychedelic, with lots of mellotron.

I just enjoyed watching a recommended film, "The Lesser Blessed". Damien Jurado's "Museum of Flight" is perfect Outro to a fantastic film, by Anita Doron, from the book by the same title, and screen play by Richard Van Camp. Appreciated Damien's solo performance at the Alix Goolden Hall, way back now, maybe 2010 or so?
