    Thank you!! I found a new hole in my fence last night about baseball sized and it looks like the gate was messed with to get it! I woke up about 3:30am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep because I was unsure how I was going to fix it.. Now I know.. I'm sure I'll sleep better! Thanks again!

    So do u think putting sand in the post about 2 feet up will help keep the post in place in the event of a hurricane, my fence stayed up during Milton but I was worried about it because it went down when Ian came through, my post broke off at the ground level they were set in concrete too.

  • @AndreViens

    I'm back for a 2nd time to review this as I started putting my repaired mid rail in and didn't have enough room to slide it to one side to then get it to the other side. Then I was reminded of the 2x4. I might also need to slide the other rails over in the fence as you did too.

    This video just saved me almost $1k that the original fence installer wad going to charge just to replace two pieces of panel. Also, Not long after installation hurricane-rain caused a down-slope post to rise up about six inches. Any suggestions for how to lower that post without having to dig around the cement, bust it up, and re-pour cement to level the post?

    • @deuceliter
      @deuceliter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Basically, it's the same thing on the gates. You may have a couple screws on each side at the top. You just unscrew them and pull them apart, replace the slat, then put them back together.

    I have the Cyress Vinyl Fence from Home Depot. The one that looks like wood planks. All I did when replacing a broken panel, the ones that run vertically, I just bent it. I was surprised how much it could be bent without breaking or leaving a line mark.
    You have a white colored vinyl fence, so this wont really benefit you becuase fading isnt an issue with your fence. My fence I was told that i would see fading by 10 years. Well, the manfactor was wrong, it started fading in 4 years. When I called them and sent them pictures, how ironic that the fade was in acceptible range and I was not eligable for replacment. So I did some research and did my own tests and my final concolusion was buy a clear coat that made for garage floors with UV protection, yiou can get a gallon for 65-75 bucks. The Kyrlon UV outdoor spraty for any surface covers only about 6 panels and maybe one post. Too expensive. The garage clear coat is the bang for the buck. The clear coat brought back the pattern embedded in the vinyl. I almost restored it to its original color. From the street you cant tell which faded and which ones did not fade. The clear coat makes it shine!
    As for yellowing, the clearcoat states no yellowing. We'll see after a year. But the clear coat spray test I did a year ago, had no yellowing. Mineral oil works too but a heavy rain can wash it off. Mineral Oil is the key. All vinyl restoration sprays contain the secret ingrediwent of mineral oil (the amount they add varies) Mineral Oil already a UV blocker. Mineral oil on your tires work better than any tire spray becuase its thicker and last longer. Tire shine is around 19 bucks, mineral oil 3 bucks.

      Try a power washer. It will remove most stuff. But be aware that high pressure water can damage plastic, wood, concrete etc. So don't put the nozzle too close, until you know if it's going clean, but not damage. Be careful not to hit hands or feet with it.
