    When it comes to grad chapter if you missed an informational that a chapter had back in the summer. Do you have to wait until the next following year?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Essentially you’d wait until the next informational. Whenever that is. It’s not always a yearly meeting

    Thank you so much!! If you start the intake process, but dont make it, are you able to try again the next rush season, or is it only one chance. I want to start getting involved and showing my face, but my resume is not where I want it yet and I’m still doing my research. Should I wait?

    • @KelsTells

      It's not only one chance, but I encourage you to do your research and make sure that you make yourself an optimum candidate. If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to check out my playlists on being an interest and the D9 membership process for tips and advice.

      There’s no specific way of knowing when an organization will have their next coming out show (careful with using the word “line”). Building relationships and having the members get to know will keep you in the loop if they’re interested in you. Check out my FAQ playlist

      You’re welcome. The type of notification depends on the organization and chapter as well. Email is the most common. Be careful with phone calls bc there’s 2 types lol.

    Is it okay to hit up an organization via social media for grad chapter?
    I sent an email regarding attending some of their events, thanking them for the public invite, but no one respond. I dont want to say it's unprofessional, but a bit concerning that no one could just reply. I also don't want to beg either.

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes you won’t get a response to that type of email and that’s ok. You may not be the only one emailing. Regarding social media, I would not recommend reiterating your email if that’s the goal. Check out my video on using social media for intake th-cam.com/video/u3qyjH9U2Wc/w-d-xo.html

    If I’m understanding correctly it’s the headquarters of the sorority organization that decides if you get accepted and not the girls at your specific university chapter?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The chapter has the autonomy to choose who they’d like to invite to intake (i.e. informal, formal rush, etc.), however, once the applications/fees are submitted, final approval is provided the the organization’s HQ.

    This is a question about transfer students. I am interested in Greek life and I want to be involved next year but I may be transferring the year after. When I transfer does this mean I would still be on a line or what would happen?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't fully understand your question, but here's my interpretation. If you're interested in an organization but are not yet a member, then you will not be able to participate in the membership process if you're transferring the same semester. But if you're transferring after you join, then you'd already be a member that's transferring to a different chapter. For this process, every organization is different you'll get the details from your chapter advisor.

  • @infiniti974

    So I can potentially pay money and they wont refund if it falls through?? What if a chapter use that to it's advantage because they needed money?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re provided the details of the process during formal rush. HQ receives the money, the chapter does not keep it.

    I was interested in a NPHC sorority and went to multiple events. Even asked when a interest meeting was and they said check social media. Which it was never on.I did and then boom they already announced new members on social media. How am I supposed to know what’s happening if they say check social media and nothing is on the page? Especially if I’m asking questions about where to start and they give me nothing. Does this also mean they won’t be hosting anything in fall if they already took new members this spring.

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Firstly, never ask about "the next interest meeting." There are several ways for you to keep up with your chapter of interest without appearing too eager. My guess is that the intake process already started. I recommend working on building relationships and learning how to make the members interested in you. Check out my playlist on UG membership. I also hope you're subscribe. New summer content is coming!
