Thanks for this video. I have using Garrett detectors for 27 years, and I keep myself using all Garrett new hunting design generations in order not to have trouble to learning new models like ATMAX. Now, I decided to by my ATMAX for me and retire my old friend GTI 2500 that I have been using it by 17 years.
I ran White's for decades now with the AT Max, excellent unit, and really looking forward to documentation of all nice finds with it, and "I think I will need a bigger book!"lol
Yes I'm in new York as well ..Putnam county..60 miles north of NYC..great history here..many houses over 150 years ..I have the at pro and an older Whites DFX...
That is cool that you got to test out the new AT MAX! You found some awesome stuff this time! Love the Tootsie toys, the rings and the mercs not to mention the really old stuff like the flat buttons and buckle parts!
I love the at max you need to just learn it I have no complaints I did upgraded the coil to the new super fly coil as soon as the warm weather comes I’ll be testing the new coil .. can’t wait 😜 .. great video .. I also own two other metal detectors but I love my at max .. my next metal detector with be the minelab ctx3030
I've watched other reviews and read comments on tge forums regarding the At Max and its chatter but it certainly sniffs out more finds especially silver😉 Very Cool Mercs and relics Brian. 🙌 Happy Hunting My Friend 😎🍁
Guess It Was Fate Thanks John, it was fun to get my hands on one for a test drive for a couple of weeks ... a little more of a learning curve than I expected but overall a great machine. 😎 GL&HH!
Very nice look at this machine! Especially considering the sites you used it at that you had hit hard already! Congrats on the silvers brother! Thanks for sharing and Keep Living the Dirt Life!!
D Wing's World Thank you, the biggest surprise for me was that Merc under the clothesline... I had previously found 2 silver dimes there last year and checked it slowly and carefully a few times since. 😎 GL&HH!
im deciding between the at max and equinox 800, and im leaning towards the nox because im going to be metal detecting the beach and for gold in old mines and mountains etc, and from what ive seen and read the max isnt great for gold prospecting or the beach, but the nox can do both very well. Thoughts?
I typically hunt home permissions, parks and wooded areas. I have both the AT Max And the Equinox 800 but haven’t done any gold prospecting or beach hunting with either one of them so I can’t really give a fair assessment for the type of hunting you do. 😎⚒👍🎧
Great finds! Congrats! The "star sapphire" must be artificial, as the star does not move. Yes, that copper is very interesting. Did you use the iron audio feature on the AT Max? It lets you hear the iron and 'see' it, but makes sure you know that's what it is. Good, quick distinction and recovery between mixed targets?
Charles Wilder Thanks Charles. At the time of the filming of this video I hadn’t used the iron audio feature so much but I actually still have the detector on loan from my friend and have been using it much more, it is a great tool. 😎 GL&HH!
I appreciate the sub. And the support that my channel. I am still new to putting out videos.. I’ve been watching yo and a few others for just over a year. And you have been an inspiration for me and. Thought I would stop by and show some luv.. keep up the work man..
Love the cuff ... thanks for showing us the Max amazing that it (Max) found more coins under clothes line ....... at one point we were tied on silvers .. I,m still at 20 silvers Ugh ... oh well no matter great tootsies ... the Buckle is so nice ... love buttons with Back marks ... can't beat em Brian ... your buddy got a sweet silver ring and congrats on your ring Killin it ...nice sterling ring ... love the token congrats love your wrap ups
Dumpsite Digger Thanks Joe ...the buttons, the tootsies, the rings, the Mercs = good balanced hunts. I haven't had any super killer silver days, just crept up getting like 1 or 2 a week. Thanks for watching my friend. 😎 GL&HH. Too bad we aren't watching the Yankees right now.
Great hunts! I've got all three of the AT series. The each have their advantages to me. I've went over places with my AT pro many many times without finding anything then one day I go over it again and find something I'd missed before. Th machine didn't miss it though most likely I didn't swing the coil over like I did when I found something. Right now the AT Gold is probably my favorite still but I do like having a built in backlight on the Max.
Heart of Dixie Relic Hunting Good points, you do have to get the coil over it. I always return to my same old spots and continue to find new discoveries.... peeling back the layers. The wireless headphones feature on the Max big in my eyes. 😎 GL&HH!
I am impressed, however I wish you would have told us what numbers and depth the targets were ring up on. I too am thinking about trading in two detectors for the Max. Great Hunt, great finds, HH&GL on the next hunt.
OutlawjjSmith Smith If you are familiar with the AT Pro, the numbers were nearly identical. Nothing that I found was super deep ...the 2 Mercs and the cuff button impressed me most because they were pulled out of areas that I hunted before and were surrounded by some iron. The Merc under the clothesline was probably deepest at maybe 8" and I searched under that clothesline and number of times previously. 😎 GL&HH!
sdesic Thanks my friend. You should look for a contest where somebody is giving away an AT Max ...I'm pretty sure you'd win. 😉 🍀 You've been on a roll. 😎 GL&HH!
Won a lot ... Never big thing like that LoL Too much lucky people in those giveaways. I needed a pinpointer more LOL Or gold coin... There is one giveaway where it all started on Halloween last year.
Great job with the MAX. Looks like I will have to get the MAX and redo my honey hole all over again. LOL. Congrats on the silver and rings. That was awesome. Great video.
Nice video, got you a sub. I think the copper piece might be a slide for a woman's scarf or a napkin ring. I'm thinking of getting an AT Max myself. If I do it will be my first Garrett detector.
Thanks so much for getting back to me, that's made my mind up then, the AT Pro becomes wall art and the AT Max joins the clan. I got a Minelab CTX 3030 but you just can't beat the AT series once you've had them for a while. I can't even sell the AT Pro, it's been such an amazing machine, but now I've got so many parks to re-visit and pick up what ever lies beneath at the remains of the day, haha, two movies right there. Sorry I'm waffling now. Cheers again for your feedback. I'm glad I subbed you a while back. Regards, Chris.
I was thinking about getting the pro but maybe i'll go with the max....have try to use the max on the beach cause the beach is a different ballgame. Thanks for the review.
BeachBum Silver Yeah if I didn’t already have the Pro and was just buying new I’d suggest going right to the Max. However, that being said I don’t think either is probably a great beach machine if that’s your primary interest. 😎 GL&HH!
BeachBum Silver I’ll assume we are talking about salt water beaches? I don’t know much about Minelabs and how they perform on the beach. I had my AT Pro to the ocean once or twice. ... it’s useable if on vacation and using it a little but I don’t think they really have a reputation as a great beach detector if that’s your primary thing. I’d do a bunch more research and what a lot more videos before pulling the trigger on a new detector.
I really like the Garrett line, the AT Pro or AT Max are great detectors if you really think you’re going to take to the hobby and stick to it. I bought a cheaper Garrett Ace 250 when I started and it was a great machine, a real coin magnet for around $240 but I then upgraded to the higher end AT Pro detector after just one year. It all worked out for me as I was able to then pass the Ace down to my son.
nice digging man! am thinking of getting a second detector but the a.t. series have a hard time in salt water beaches. enjoyed the video best of luck cheers Nathan
Have enjoyed using my AT Pro for 2 years now, and notice that reviews are all over the place for these machines. Once you throw out the brand loyal haters and flat out ignorant users, you will find that most people enjoy using them. If you are expecting spot on VDI numbers and crisp tones on a dime at 8 inches, this isn't the machine for you. People who benefit the most from these understand that. They are a mid level detector. Targets on the outer edge of their depth limit may not scream "dig me" While numbers are nice, you are missing a lot of good deep finds if you are waiting on positive ID from your VDI. If you just want to go cherry picking for shallow change at the local park, the VDI is all you need. Generally they are spot on with little or no fluctuation. For someone wanting to find the good stuff, the numbers are much less important. Learn to train your ears and ALWAYS circle those faint grunts listening for that slight tone that you are after.
DIGOLOGIST Agreed. At the time of making this video last October I just had a Max on loan ...I ended up getting one of my own in December and love it. 😎 GB&HH!
Alabama Metal Good for you! I would recommend doing just that. I’m a believer of the “never hunted out” theory and that would be a great way to test out your new detector. Did you get a good Cyber Monday deal somewhere? I only had one on lone for this video and was watching the ads but didn’t pull the trigger myself yet. 😎 GL&HH!
If you're on Facebook join the group called "Downsouth Diggers." One of the admins there is Robert Wyatt. He's a metal detector dealer. Send him a message and he'll make you happy. (This is not a paid advertisement! I paid him lol)
FWIW I hunted with an Ace 300 for almost a year. Found great stuff over time but dug way more trash than anyone should have to. It's a good machine to learn on but it was just time to upgrade.
Deb mitchell I really didn't expect the Max to be so much different than the Pro but the more time I spent with it the more comfortable I felt with it. 😎 GL&HH!
I want to see an AT Max vs Minelab Equinox 800 video. I'm holding back spending until then. Sadly all the detector companies are using the 'hype-train' advertising technique - Which is generally completely misleading.

Actually I’m quite conscientious about my hole repair and have never had a complaint from a homeowner, on the contrary they usually comment on how they can’t even tell I was there. 😎 GL&HH!
Wow, that's some amazing finds, looking forward to a epic year with my AT Max. Wishing you all the best in the new year!

Great video. Thank you was fun. Greg
Great review and hunt! It's never all hunted out! Congrats on the silvers & the rings
Basia Today I agree ...and it's a good thing they are never hunted out or I'd run out of places to detect. 😎GL&HH!
I am looking to get another detector and have been watching MX reviews, so I appreciate yours!
You did very well with the AT Max, I really liked the die cast trucks, they were my favorites. Nice job on the rings and silver as well
Wow!!!😲😲😲 You have a beautiful collection!!!! 👍👍👍 I greet you from Poland!!!🖐🖐🖐
Ty Brian for taking the time to let us see how well the ATMax did for you. Awesome job and really great finds. I enjoyed it very much. Paul.
TRIDONN'S TREASURES Thanks Paul! I hear you entered the 1600's club, that's insane ...i have to watch that one tonight. Congrats to you. 😎 GL&HH!
Yes I'm in new York as well ..Putnam county..60 miles north of NYC..great history here..many houses over 150 years ..I have the at pro and an older Whites DFX...
The copper thing looks like a cloth napkin ring . The napkin would go through the center of it to keep it rolled up
Good Job brother! I often wonder the commonality of the loss of rings. Maybe an old garden was there
Some very cool finds. Thanks for sharing.
Alief Archaeology Thanks, my pleasure. I was fortunate to get to borrow it for a test drive ... and did half way decent too. 😎 GL&HH!
Great deal Brian
as usual
Pretty awesome finds 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Just got my Max, after having the Pro. Expecting great things.
Enjoy it, good luck
Nice finds. I am thinking the copper piece may possibly be a napkin ring for cloth napkins. It's a thought. Anyway good job. Happy hunting to you.
Quasimobile - The Dairyland Digger Aaaah .... I think you're onto something. Thanks. 😎 GL&HH!
Picture frame, buckle?
let me ask something what detecter is the best \at max or the nox 600
That is cool that you got to test out the new AT MAX! You found some awesome stuff this time! Love the Tootsie toys, the rings and the mercs not to mention the really old stuff like the flat buttons and buckle parts!
Chrononaut Metal Detecting Thanks, it was very cool that Del let me borrow it and take it for a test drive. 😎 GL&HH!
I love the at max you need to just learn it I have no complaints I did upgraded the coil to the new super fly coil as soon as the warm weather comes I’ll be testing the new coil .. can’t wait 😜 .. great video .. Just found you...LOOKS AWESOME!
Really nice video, some nice finds! Enjoyed it! Happy Hunting!
Dig That Beep Thanks my friend, happy hunting to you as well! 😎
You're welcome! Got an 1880's house lined up tomorrow in a nearby town with Mike! Maybe we'll hit some oldies!
I've watched other reviews and read comments on tge forums regarding the At Max and its chatter but it certainly sniffs out more finds especially silver😉 Very Cool Mercs and relics Brian. 🙌 Happy Hunting My Friend 😎🍁

What's the value of one of those dimes? Or any of these finds. I'm considering seriously to start out with AT Max.
I appreciate the sub. And the support that my channel. I am still new to putting out videos.. I’ve been watching yo and a few others for just over a year. And you have been an inspiration for me and. Thought I would stop by and show some luv.. keep up the work man..
Awesome digs B!! I like my at max for sure..
RoadWarrior72 Thanks Nathan. I liked it more and more as I used it ...now I don’t want to give it back. 😎 GL&HH!

Star Sapphire rings where very popular in the earl 70 late sixties, my sisters each had one. Very pretty.
Napkin Ring ?
That buckle at 7:49 is beautiful !!!
Digging Canuck Thanks Liz, I'd like to get more info on that one ...I have no idea about it's age or anything. Something or nothing? 😎 GL&HH!
Popped a nice lil merc there, not too shabby.
Conrad Weis Was a good hunt, thanks for watching & commenting! 😎
I am impressed, however I wish you would have told us what numbers and depth the targets were ring up on. I too am thinking about trading in two detectors for the Max. Great Hunt, great finds, HH&GL on the next hunt.

What did the merc dime read at on the max?
Michael Parsons They usually come in around an 83.
I get a lot of pennies around 80
Nice video Brian, congrats on silver and rings
I will be keeping my detectors LOL
AT GOLD will be cool to test with MAX.
sdesic Thanks my friend. You should look for a contest where somebody is giving away an AT Max ...I'm pretty sure you'd win. 😉 🍀 You've been on a roll. 😎 GL&HH!

malyman24 Thanks Mike they say "will bring a hunted out park back to life" 😎GL&HH!
Great video congrats on mercs 👍
Fixing to get at pro... Moveing up from ACE 400. What's your thoughts with the at pro
I really loved my AT Pro and found tons of great stuff with it. Plus you don't need to worry about being out in the rain, rivers, water.
Nice video, got you a sub. I think the copper piece might be a slide for a woman's scarf or a napkin ring. I'm thinking of getting an AT Max myself. If I do it will be my first Garrett detector.
Bill K. Thanks ... for the compliment and the sub! I have alway loved my Garrett’s and have done well with them. 😎
Do the numbers match up with the AT Pro as far as coins go? I'm trying to say, if you got a dime on the ATPro, is it the same number on the max?
Mettleman Downunder Yes, pretty much identical VDI numbers. 👍
Thanks so much for getting back to me, that's made my mind up then, the AT Pro becomes wall art and the AT Max joins the clan. I got a Minelab CTX 3030 but you just can't beat the AT series once you've had them for a while. Great review with nice finds
Devo1967 Wray Thank you!
Hey what coil is on there? Is it the stock coil?
Jonathan Kuntz Yes, it’s the stock coil. Thanks for watching. 😎 GL&HH!
😎 GL&HH!
Yeah probably using it on the beach. Are they not good on the beach? and should I go with Minelab on the beach?
BeachBum Silver I’ll assume we are talking about salt water beaches? I don’t know much about Minelabs and how they perform on the beach. I had my AT Pro to the ocean once or twice. ... it’s useable if on vacation and using it a little but I don’t think they really have a reputation as a great beach detector if that’s your primary thing. I must say the AT MAX likes you ..good luck with it...that many silvers ...good
Cornbreadjack Thanks my friend. 2 Mercs and 2 silver rings was a pretty productive first couple of outings with it. Overall, a nice machine. 😎 GL&HH!
I had an AT Pro sold it and bought a AT Max don't see much difference except earphones
hello from genoa n.y. im looking in to getting my first detector any recommendations

nice digging man! am thinking of getting a second detector but the a.t. series have a hard time in salt water beaches. enjoyed the video best of luck cheers Nathan
Dog is my co-pirate Thanks Nathan! Agreed, I didn’t try the Max near any salt water but I did with my Pro ...not their strong point for sure. 😎 GL&HH!
looks like one of the spool rings off a fishing rod. :)
Pat-the-dad George Hmmm, could be.

John94709 Well said, good advice. Thanks for your comments. 😎 GL&HH!
Couldn't of said it better!!
Yep the max will find the silver. My is great’!😎
DIGOLOGIST Agreed. At the time of making this video last October I just had a Max on loan ...I ended up getting one of my own in December and love it. 😎 GB&HH!
very nice vid
31claudiu Thank you my friend. 😎
The at max does not have a chance with the equinox 800 ,
Especially in the salt water!
On land the max is the best 👌
At max loves silver
That copper piece looks like a crimping copper for wire. Could be wrong though cos I made a mistake about forty years ago.
Mettleman Downunder haha, so you’re about due for one more mistake? Thanks for watching!
yerdigginit metal detecting. Anytime now I think, lol.
I want one !
hank6887 It’s a great detector ...I was able to get one of my own after borrowing my friends for a month and a half. 😎
The unidentified bronze looking ring appears to be a napkin ring.
I just ordered mine this morning. Your video makes me want to take it out to the spots I've beat to death already.
Alabama Metal Same deal, I started with the Ace 250 and after a year passed it onto my son and got myself the AT Pro.
Alabama Metal
Fun video great finds. Everyone seems to love the max, but I have seen some go back to their pro!
Deb mitchell me too although I never left my Pro. The Max is noisy even compared to the Gold.
Deb mitchell I really didn't expect the Max to be so much different than the Pro but the more time I spent with it the more comfortable I felt with it. 😎 GL&HH!
8 mins in, Sash buckle 1890 1910 ish....My guess
K. W. Churchill Thank you, that’s awesome, I was wondering if that was something or nothing. 😎
I want to see an AT Max vs Minelab Equinox 800 video. I'm holding back spending until then. Sadly all the detector companies are using the 'hype-train' advertising technique - Which is generally completely misleading.
Extropy That would be a good comparison video. Thanks for watching & commenting. 😎 GL&HH!
10 minutes, thats a napkin ring..cook out loss, 1998...
Wollll very good, rings e coins luxury, likesssss
Detectores Rj Thanks! Yes that was a pretty good day of detecting. 😎 GL&HH!
If you come my way let me Know
WESTERN NY BIGFOOT Will do
Your hole repair needs some work
PLASTICDADA II Thanks for watching and commenting. Typically when I’m filming the finds I’ve just freshly retrieved the target and haven’t necessarily finished with fixing up my plug yet. Actually I’m quite conscientious about my hole repair and have never had a complaint from a homeowner, on the contrary they usually comment on how they can’t even tell I was there. 😎 GL&HH!
