I feel so identified with you!
Thanks God, I became Manager when I was 21 (I was an intern, all the manager resigned in a span of a week, and I got the position, first temporarily, and then permanently).
It felt strange to arrive to this level so quickly and I compromised myself so hard with the job (because I wanted to prove that I was worthy), and I literally worked 21 days in a row (full-time including weekends).
After 3 years I had a terrible burnt-out and I decided it was not the life I wanted to have anymore.
It really hit me when I saw that my 60-something aunt and me had to take the same medicine for the blood pressure.
Life is becoming harder when it comes to responsibilities, but is also very fulfilling, and taking care of yourself is really important.
    Thank you for your video!

The job you do right now is good enough. Don’t compare yourself to others because then you’ll never be satisfied. Just do what you like and that’s all that matters.

Well, I'm 51 years old and I agree with all of your points. One of the points that resonated with me particularly is understanding that relationships have a season. It's really hard to recognize that certain relationships are not what they used to be and need to end.
Also, life and growth are not linear. There will be peaks and valleys in experiences both personally and professionally. Sometimes one needs to take two steps back to move forward.

Happy birthday! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! What I've learned about friends in my longer journey is that sometimes you drift apart, but you can also drift back together later- like a decade or so! Life is long, but everything is everything! I'm happy to see you living your life to the fullest!

Omg we're so similar! I turn 27 in January, also a woman and working on my first 'real' job as a solutions engineer (doing some data science at the moment), it's nice to finally see a vid from someone in my age range :') Recently I've been having a crisis about my whole career path and identity aaand social life... I originally studied an MSc in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, but working in industry now as a solutions engineer... I miss neuroscience but academia was hell. I like coding, but my job also involves customer contact and that part makes me want to kill myself... also it's really hard to suddenly be the one who knows the least, I was an A+ student in neuroscience and did some programming courses during my degree and in my free time, but I feel so stupid compared to the software engineers. Also I wanted to do a PhD so badly, but my master's thesis left me burned out and the pay and stress in academia and future prospects has left me discouraged :( I wanted to do data science in a neuroscience field, but I live in a rather small town with poor opportunities... I wanted to move to the capital, but the rent prices are too insane. So, I feel very sad lately. My social life is the worst it has ever been as well.... I feel like no one loves me. Anyway I ended up rambling on forever.... thanks for making this vid 😭

What a great birthday party! It’s obvious how much you treasure your friendships. I agree with you about how friendships change as we get older. That was a hard one for me because I had had the same friends forever. I do have friends that come and go and I’ve learned that it’s ok. We were there when we needed each other. Have a great week! 😊

This video was such a nice little change of pace from your regular content! In a few months, I'll be turning *cough* 30 *cough* and I've been evaluating my life at this point, too. And I have to say, a lot of the points you talk about still ring very true as I head into this next decade of my life. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Julia!! Looked like a fun party :) Wishing you a happy and successful 27th year!

You covered very important points, Julia! And, believe me, from the age of 30 we start to question ourselves even more about everything that surrounds us. The truth is that we'll always be constantly evolving because there will come a time when we'll no longer be happy in our comfort zone. That's why we're in this world. I was happy to know that you were surrounded by friends and people who love you on your birthday, I wish I had gone too, do you want to be my friend? hahahah habby bday again! xoxo

Sounds like you're handling your 20's just fine! You've worked very hard to be where you are and have a level head recognizing that family is important, financial planning is a must, and life is to be lived at your fullest capacity. I agree with all your points- I have friends where we were very close at one time but drifted apart. Those "break ups" were difficult to accept but they were there when we needed each other and eventually we didn't. The adult like being difficult- yes and eventually it gets better. You'll eventually get your life to a place where everything is good. Believe me!

Hi Julia! This is v insightful & I luv it! This Nov I just turned 25 and will just be starting my corporate career as a CPA in one of the big4 but I feel insecure of my age cuz my fellow colleagues who will be just starting their career just like me are way younger than me around 22-23yrs old. I can't help but to compare myself tho I used to work at a fastfood chain as a service crew to sustain my studies for over 5yrs and most of the times I think of the past if maybe my parents let me start my education earlier I might have already build a career related to my degree BUT I try to shift my mindset and always remind myself to be grateful idk someone who I can share this w and someone who'll understand so yeah i'm just gonna comment this hehe

All these points are so interconnected for me. Varsity was definitely my most enjoyable period of life because I got a consistent allowance that gave me the opportunity to sort of save up some money and get myself small treats which was a little taste of learning how to manage finances. Although the main premise of varsity was to study, pass and obtain a qualitation...all these activities were accompanied by friends whether it was group study sessions, attending the same classses or even sharing a living space. During this period of my life I learnt to value friendship because my friends were my immediate support system being away from home, they were the family I could choose. Till this day people like my previous flatmate and people on my campus/residence remain a staple in my life. In the same breath, there were many people that only stuck around for a few seasons of life, or where the friendship isn't how it used to be. Changes in friendship dynamics have always been a sore spot for a sensitive and introspective person like me. It's hard to not make it all about you, to not take offense and be left wondering what you did wrong when you're a person that puts in a lot of effort into maintaining friendship. I think the hardest part to stomach is that it's possible to no longer be someone's cup of tea. I'm still working on not having feelings of resentment towards people I have strained friendships with, and the same applies to strained family relationships. The reality is that you can't please everyone and if you can maintain good ties with your immediate friends and family, then you're doing great. I definitely hope to have a better sense of direction when it comes to my career very soon. The 20 something phase of life is so tricky to navigate, but you making a video like this let's us know we're not in this thing alone🖤

Almost Turning 29…biggest lesson is to focus on YOURSELF ! Don’t worry about the people around you. Surround yourself with people that are like minded. Also, I wish someone had told me the 29’s is extremely hard and you’re going to feel lost and mess up a lot but that’s your 20’s. It’s a learning lesson. But things will always get better ❤

Right, that’s what I thought. Things get more stable and you just know things will be fine in the end. So less stress and anxiety. People make it difficult for themselves with needing a big career, a great social life and always comparing themselves to others. Then things do get hard indeed.
