Super duper true; however, I've also noticed that humans will take advantage of you if you do not make enough of a proportionate presence still and advocate for yourself. Even family members can blindside you with gossip toward you with other family members when you were just happily doin' your own thing, keepin' your head down and livin' your life. You learn in life to not take for granted that everyone else has as pure or good of a heart as you. People will not have the same sense of decency and kindness as you. People generally do not have the same set of morals or moral compasses which point due North (as you). This might sound a tinge harsh, but it is pretty true, I've found A good way to look at it might be to just use wisdom and stay present in your day to day connections, interminglings, and try to be as proactive and assertive and joyous with your day to day life as much as you can and trust that things will stay or fall in place for you. And if that totally feels like a loaded piece of hogwash, then you can always just jump ship over to my mom's favorite expression "Life's a 8itch, then you die." lol.

I disagree and am curious about how you can think it’s bad advice? Ok what about when it comes to things that are out of your hands? Then I can’t imagine being patient as anything but good advice. Be patient and know that things will get better in due time. You may want something to happen now but if it’s not here yet then God might be preparing you for when it does come so it ends up being better than you could have ever imagined.
People are headstrong and dumb, we may think we’re ready for something when we’re really not. We only know our experiences and I don’t think that’s enough credentials to know what’s best in every situation and change fates when we don’t know the outcome.
And if you consider God: He’s all powerful, omnipotent, and knows what’s best for you. And He wants what’s best for you because He is Love. He’s got everything under control.

@Gaming-sf1oz ok, not even close. Like, give the difference between 18 and 17. How much maturity does a 17 year old gain in just one year? 21 used to be the legal age of becoming an adult and was lowered as a result to get more soldiers in WWII. If you so adamantly believe in that then why not think that 17 and 16 year old females are adult young women either? They can consent to 18 year olds.

Let me just say this: no one really knows what they are doing, nor do they have it all figured out. Life works out in its own mysterious ways- for better or for worse. Everyone has their own story to tell. And through each individual experience do we get a human being as amazing and unique as you are. I felt the most free in life from 29-33 (just before the pandemic hit), I made time for me, myself and I and I don't regret it, I am a better, less stressed and a more peaceful soul for it so I am ready to mindfully take on whatever extra responsibilities come my way and that benefits everyone around me. You're valuable no matter what you choose! Look at Van Gogh, bullied and made to feel lesser for his art in his time and now famous beyond his years unlike everyone who thought less of him. Arts, law, science, business, languages, writing, engineering, IT, all of it is of value to society, no one is less than another for choosing a different field. Be true to who YOU are, you only have one life - do what brings you the most contentment and genuine love in life and don't hurt yourself or others in the process. The next generation will be thankful for it!💪🏼

As a mother watching my oldest turn 18…
A lot of people see this young woman as different, more mature than average.
We all have it in us. I can see my 18 year-old say and do amazing things, and also say and do some really dumb things.
What would be cool is if we see ALL young men and women today as their best selves. If you expect maturity and kindness, you may get it. If you treat them as less-than-you or as the enemy, you may get it.

We’re living in a time of SHIFT- we choose if it’s forward or backward. See the best in each other. And be YOUR best self.
