Another bike that looks like a "throwaway." These two-stroke Indians were sold at mom and pop operations during the early 1970s until CAFE regulations killed them off. They were inexpensive (read: affordable) transportation and swell bikes for scooting around town. It's obvious from your efforts even after years of abuse and neglect that they were worth owning and maintaining and still are today. Thanks for posting and see if you can find a replacement tank.
Really nice find! These have become so difficult to find now in the last few years! I am on my 3rd of 4th year in Michigan looking for one and i swear I've only come across 3 at least. AMFs Harley Davidsons are good too.
Great job and content! I’m very impressed with your ability to get that Indian actually running. It looked pretty crusty. lol. You both are very talented, and you make a great team. Blessings!!!
It's unbelievable that you find these motorcycles somewhere in the woods. As far as I know, nothing can be found here in Europe. I have been looking for a Kawa Z900, 750 or 650 from 1973 for years. To restore. Or something like that from the early 70's.
as much as id like to see live feed of the firebird builds, it probably would make more sense to take a bike or 2 to work on since barber is coming up soon after
Our goal wasn’t to restore the bike. We wanted to get it to the point of running and show that it could be rideable then pass it on to someone who can either enjoy it as is or fully restore it. It doesn’t make financial sense for us to restore a lot of the bikes/vehicles we try to save.
