• ചായക്കടയിലെ വെട്ടുകേക്... ചായക്കടയിലെ വെട്ടുകേക്ക് || Vettu Cake || Kerala Tea Stall Vettu Cake | Mutta Cake | Ep:768
Ingredients
Maida -1 cup
Water - 2 tbsp less than 1/2cup
Salt-
Sugar -1tsp
Colour
Oil -
Rice Flour -
Oil for frying
For sugar syrup
Sugar -3/4cup
Water -1/4cup
Salt -
Cardamom Powder -
Method
Take 1 glass of maida in a bowl with salt and sugar. Mx well. Add yellow food colour (optional). Knead it to a dough after adding normal water in batches. Make a hard dough.
Divide the dough into 2. Roll the first half into a big roll . With a rolling pin flatten it into a big round roti. Make it as big and thin as possible. Brush oil on top of it. Sprinkle rice flour on top of it. Fold small pleats from one end to the other. Then cut small rolls .Gently roll the small rolls.
Fry the kaaja now. Deep fry is recommended. Fry till it becomes crispy . there will a colour change.
Method 1 - Take some powdered sugar and dip the hot Kaaja into it. Coat it evenly.
Method 2 :- take ½ glass of sugar and ¼ glass of water. Boil it. You can add cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. When the consistency if just before the 1 string consistency, turn of the heat.
Take the Kaaja which is cold and crispy and dip it in the sugar syrup. Coat it evenly.
