Hey! I remember watching this video in 2019 when I was a kid. I became so obsessed with this Raspberry Pi, Windows 10 and even making my own laptop and tablet at home in late 2019 but I gave up on the thought. A lot has changed today 2024. I'm a TH-camr now
Wow I'm impressed!!! Sucks those guys are charging but for all the hard work I'm sure they put into getting a fully compatible version of Android I could see why. I hope you get the chance to get the full version when it comes out!
there is no fully compatible android for rpi and likely never wil be. even if it got official android support it would still not be worth using since there are many cheaper maker boards out there like the orange pi's and odroids that run android very well both tablet and tv varients. it makes no sense to develop android for rpi when the boards specs are not up to par and cheaper better alternitives are widely available
Hey EG! I'm doing a similar project over on my channel, but im running Windows 10. The design for your case is one point man! I would love to see a video where you make a Windows 10 tablet, that is, if I don't do it first >:D
Paying for a free operating system is a stupid idea. I do realize that the developers need to get paid somehow, but having to pay €69 straight up is a little steep. I'm sure they could collect money through optional donations or a pay-what-you-want system.
I actually kinda hope they get in trouble for this shit. It's one thing for Samsung to sell you a Galaxy and it has android on it. It's QUITE another to sell Google's open source software outright. Pretty sure that's against the GNU GPL.
They won't get in trouble if they release the kernel sources on the website like any other vendor does. That's the only thing they need to do. The Android OS is mostly Apache licensed (which doesn't require source releases), only the kernel and other bits are GPL.
already better than my sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow The Raspberry PI 3 draws 2.5 amps. The powerboost you're using is only rated up to one amp. Around the 3 minute mark you were playing Mario Kart with a little lightning bolt indicator on the right of the screen indicating your CPU is being governed and is under-voltage. You should've used a different powerboost that allows for at LEAST 2.5amp draw. Under-voltage will reduce the lifespan of the PI.
Android is based on Linux, which is an Open Source project, under the GPL license. The purpose of this kind of projects is to form developers communities around them by distributing the software by absoluty no price. So you can modify any of this software (including removing the timer in emteria OS) to your liking. I also think that the way that emteria incorporated a timer that blocks the software for users that don't way to pay money for an Android OS should not be allowed.
Not quite a no brainer. The video neglected to mention that the Pi3 board had to be modified quite a bit to make it fit, much like it was in my similar tablet: www.stefanv.com/electronics/a-compact-home-made-raspberry-pi-tablet.html
That;s not to say that's it's an easy process but I mean the fact that there aren't more DIY kits that are designed to facilitate the conversion of a Pi or similar SBC into a laptop or tablet form factor without so much modification. Maybe that's what Maker communities thrive on, but it also seems like a perfect opportunity for someone to fill the niche for people that aren't as handy.
bump. you should try installing Chrome OS on it, its pretty good for tablets and has android app support right out of the box! and on top of that, Linux support is in beta
I do not stand behind paying for an open source, free operating system. If I take Linux, make it closed source and charge people for it I'm bound to get in some legal issues in some way. This is probably covered somehow so they won't get in trouble, but I still don't think you can simply take a free piece of software and then start charging people for it. If it were 10 bucks okay, but the price they're asking is way to steep. I'd like to see Android work on a Raspberry Pi, but for this price it's not worth it to me. The entire Pi cost me 30. To pay more than double that just for an operating system to run on it doesn't seem right. I can just buy another single board computer that ships with Android natively supported already for that price.
So I saw that it has no motion sensor. How could we make one that actually works for it. Like in temple run, you couldn’t go to the sides without swiping
Why (paid) Android and not simply GNU/Linux with an on-screen keyboard software and a touchscreen-friendly desktop environment? You would have support for everything you need and you also would have a more powerful and secure OS
Why not compare it to a Galaxy Note 3. You can pick up a Galaxy Note 3 85 to $115 depending on the condition. A nice balance of price to Performance considering that it's more than half as good as Galaxy S7.
i am impressed that you could make a tablet that has more ports then a mac
Sam G rude
you mean macbook. the iMac and iMac Pro has more ports than this (unless your including the GPIO Pins which don't really count.)
Nice one! I'm late tho
SimplyStimulating stfu
Military grade stand, that so true hahaha
It looks like it badly survived the military
Finally a tech channel which does tech

The Emteria OS review is finished! The link: th-cam.com/video/BGbpq9MkTRw/w-d-xo.html
nice but it would be a lots slimmer if someone made a kit compatible with the dim slot type rpi3...
Your 'love' icon looks like a minecraft character lol
Electronic Grenade i
i hope somebody pays you a lot because youre more useful than half the population combined, truly
Nice project 👍👍
No need to pay that much money for os that is already free...
Bruh everyone gangsta till this man makes an entire video game console
Making a tiny video game console with a Raspberry pi could actually be super cheap and easy but it would only be able to run lower end games
dude all your projects makes me inspired to make things too so much-
This channel deserve more subs

besides the sheer awesomeness of this device, the old games i played or saw as a child really bring back the memories.
You can use a tilt sensor, vibration sensor, and a sound sensor.
But how?
Dude, this is the best thing ever.
Wow I'm impressed!!! Sucks those guys are charging but for all the hard work I'm sure they put into getting a fully compatible version of Android I could see why. I hope you get the chance to get the full version when it comes out!

This is soothing to watch...cleaning my old blower cards

Me: Can't make paper airplane
Electo: makes a touchscreen tablet
Samsung hire this man RIGHT NOW!
Pretty awesome that you were able to do this by yourself, impressive!
This is really cool. Keep up the good work this is great!
I'm planning on making a video using a slightly edited version of your model. If I gave credit to you, can I use the model?
For sure bro go for it
@@Electo Thanks!
Bro, I've always wanted to do this this is so cool!! I'd like to see more of this....
Why does he think I need a military grade tablet stand? Does he think I'ma be punching the tablet or something lol
It's a joke
Very impressive. Nice work!
To help with tilting for now make a small container with a ball and depending where the ball is that makes your tilt
Electo is so smart
Keep it up
No words...Note 10!
You should sell this when the new pay software android comes out
that military grade tablet stand should be classified technology lol

WOOW HOW DO YOU MADE THAT OMG
You got your 10k likes
I might make this but as a handheld gaming console and maybe add a 12000mah battery
We can all agree this is better than the ps5 and Xbox series X
when you want an android tablet but you don't have money to buy even an ios one:
Ohhh cool no home button wow so intesting can you make an iPad 10.6
I doubt he could make an ipad, cause ios isn’t very easy to recreate

"A 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, an on/off switch"

1:40 i dont think u can use that fuction without a gyroscope dude :P
Ok ok... This didn't cost 300 dollars right? ITS FASTER THAN MY SAMSUNG
EXCELLENT VIDEO MAN EXCELLENT
£80 for a free os thats bull id just try and remove the timer on the free version lol
only you would know of you did that so evan if you do no one can prove that you have unless they look at the sd card

OMG GENIUS
If you get Shadow on this, you could run PC games on here!
Thanks you
OMG YOU CAN DO UNIPAD ON IT, THANK YOU SO MUCH NOW I KNOW THAT I CAN USE MY LAUNCHPAD WITH MY RASBERRY PI TYSM!
Make one out of an odroid c2 or xu4, android will run much better
I'm kinda surprised there haven't been more "Pi tablet" kits out there. it seems like a no brainer. Also 80 bucks for an android OS, eew.

Add a camera to it
hi Electronic grenade is a 32 or 64 bit version? good video; I wait your answer.
I love to see this video

I prefer what to give away to me

Nice
You need to make a company like apple and galaxy
10k likes buddy
yess!!! buy it!!
Amazing
Hi dude nice really nice vid i really like it do more raspberry pi vid and entira
bump.
you should try installing Chrome OS on it, its pretty good for tablets and has android app support right out of the box! and on top of that, Linux support is in beta
Try using RemixOS
Just for info, Android 8 has been ported to the RPi.
The flashing thunderbolt on the screen tells me the powerboost 1000 doesn't pump out enough juice for the Pi to run properly.
Wow u should start a company man
10k likes. Do it now.

Good job man your very inteligent
hello my friend, say please, this RPi can run with any touchscreen or I must have specific model to connect? (sorry about my English)
Have you tried making an androidt tablet using raspberry pi cm4? And build your own custom board?
If it was made by my company, then it's Semi-g EGPad.
Quick (maybe stupid) question. Can it be used as a graphics tablet?
Are you sure they are lithium ion? They look like lipos
It's it's already doing better then the iPhone 7 and I'm less the 30 seconds in it has a 3.5mm headphone output btw I'm a apple fan boy
I wouldn't be surprised if you switch it on your living room lights will lit up as well...
Smooth edges I have a tab a 6 how do i play fortnite in it
You should have used rpi 4, Windows 10
I know that you are angry because you're so underrated
It would be better if you installed windows on the X86 platform by using another single board pc like the UDOO X86
My man just predicted fortnite🤠
@Tikos agent no listen he has a season 4 skin in the thumbnail so he predicted that
@Tikos agent what u mean bro it’s true😡
Paint the case black
I guess it doesn't have speakers or a HDMI connector for video out to a tv
I had considered adding those, but there wasn't enough room.
See im not tryna offend but why the heck does everyone love raspberry Pi I mean you can use android orea or Android kitkat or something else!
@NonBinaryMusic do u agree with me ;)
@NonBinaryMusic yay
Hey, why you tube does not include this tablet ?
You Running on Android Nougat. (Go to SETTINGS) (ABOUT SYSTEM) (Android Version)
So I saw that it has no motion sensor. How could we make one that actually works for it. Like in temple run, you couldn’t go to the sides without swiping
😍😍😍
Apple wants to know your location
electro anti android very cool made by yourself
ITS ALMOST AT 10K LIKES!!!!
He. A question. How do you turn off the screen? Or a better one... how do you turn the screen on when it goes to sleep?

if it can surf web why it doesn't support video playback 😅
Damnit guys! smash that like button!
Btw I'm brand new to this channel and this tablet series is the first thing I saw (your rasp pie tablet build)
I'm definitely subbing
