Thanks for bringing us along. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I enjoy your sisterly relationship as well as the work and explanations you provide. Happy and productive 2025 to all
The algorithm is a beast and I’m shocked at posting non-stop once a week with extra and personalized shorts, it hasn’t pushed the channel out more. I wonder how much phrases and titles and things like that have to do with it. It’s an element I’m trying to figure out. The regal places you’re standing shows how wonderful the preservation work has rendered. The portrait above the fireplace! Look forward to seeing the process of re-putting-together the kitchen. Sounds so intense. And one additional bathroom at the entrance!! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year and thanks, thanks, thanks for what you do. Former Galvestonian here and I know how much that the work you are doing means to that community.
You and your team continue to amaze me with all that you have achieved in 1 year. I watch other channels and they have loads of help but you still outperform them. Congratulations on a successful year. I just wish I could be there to help you. Looking forward for an even better new year. Best of luck with everything. 😊😊
Thanks for the compliment. What we lack in numbers and money we make up for with grit and determination (and a little bit of crazy). There's still a long way to go but we are really proud of how far things have come. 2025 should be another good year.
It is so amazing how far the house has come back from being a disaster! Bringing the house back to life is two sets of tasks: 1) demolition and removal of all the decay of decades 2) restoration work once the decay has been addressed. What a great idea to train volunteers to work on specific areas of the house! A thought-be prepared to need to replace and repair rotten wood on your porch details. I live on the southeastern NC coast and rotten wood is an ongoing problem. When my trim work gets cleaned and painted we always find something. The League-Kempner house is not alone in having drainage issues, especially when a monsoon pours down. The amount of water that pours off a structure is huge. Good luck with all the projects in 2025. I’ll be following along.
Thanks Jennifer. Wood rot is such a problem but surprisingly, the porch doesn't seem too bad, but we all know looks can be deceiving. There is no telling what we will find. I know there are some big gaps to fill and it is a bit of a mystery why they are there. This porch probably hasn't been repaired in 50 years. We are really hoping this is the year we solve all the big water problems. Fingers crossed. Thanks for following along.
It has been a crazy year - to go along with having a crazy sister. I forget sometimes all the things that went on during the year and just going through all the video clips made me tired! Happy New Year to you!
Its been a very busy year, you and the volunteers have done a marvoius job. All the house owner looking down from above will be smiling at the work to save thier old home. 👏👏👏👏👏 All the very best in The New Year.
We have the best volunteers. The work isn't always fun but we have a good time anyway. All the new friends I've made has been the best part of this journey.
It's great to see the house is becoming more and more independent of YT money. I'm impressed remembering what the channel was like when I followed you 1 year after buying the house. You have gone from one ambitious lady vlogging about her crazy restoration hobby project to a full blown non-profit and a significant point of interest in Galveston. 2024 was not a good year for me financially, but one day, I hope to visit on my way to visit loved ones in New Orleans!
Thanks for sticking with us from the beginning. I'm sorry 2024 was not a good year for you but just watching us every week means so much to us in many ways. Knowing other people care about saving these old homes is what keeps us going. Trust me, there are many times I'd just stay home and lay on the couch if I wasn't motivated by all the kind comments. Somebody asked me if starting the nonprofit sucked all the fun out of working on this house. In some ways, it did - but it is so exciting to know that the house will be protected forever and we can work at a slower pace. And the volunteers have been incredible. So, it's well worth it. I hoe 2025 is good to you.
Love yall! My favorite things were the Galveston Steampunk Festival Sunday and the Ghost Coast Festival. Bu I might be a little bias :-P Cheers to 2025!
It is VERY warm most of the time. We are expecting our first real blast of cold tonight. I prefer the heat. Thanks for watching. We need all the help we can get!
Loved this video so much!!! I'll be sending you a little donation soon. Wish icould come for a week while it's cool to volunteer. Love you guys and love this house. Thank you for all you do❤ Happy New Year🎉🎉🎉
That's a great idea but the closest school is about 50 miles away. We haven't reached out yet, but we should. I know the University of Houston has an active architecture alumni group. They might be a resource too.
@@leaguekempnerhouse maybe they could come out during school break or the summer? Get extra credit for doing the job? In exchange they get real hands experience in working with a historic home.
I'm not sure what spare time is. It was a particularly busy year. We are working on having a little more balanced schedule this year even though we have lots to do. We won't have all the urgent deadlines like we did with the bathrooms. That was brutal last year. Happy New Year!
I cant wait for the kitchen work to start. I love the tiles and the sink in that room. It is going to take a lot of time but so worth it. Wishing the best for 2025.🤗🌼❤️🤍💙
I could just cry about the kitchen. I love it so much. It is what it is. I've spent three years trying to come up with a good alternative to a full demolition and I just can't. All of the worst damage in this house seems to be in the areas that are most difficult and expensive to fix like our parlor windows, the stained glass and this kitchen. Oh well, it must be done.
Time flies when you're having fun.
Thank you for the run down!! I have never missed a video! I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds!
It's been wonderful having you along for the ride We've got some pretty amazing things planned for this year.
Amazing! You have done so much work! So impressed!
I am always amazed when going back through the videos. We were busy!
Thanks for bringing us along. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I enjoy your sisterly relationship as well as the work and explanations you provide. Happy and productive 2025 to all
Thanks for your support. Sisters are the best (usually).😀 We have lots to look forward to this coming year.

The algorithm is a beast. If you get it figured out let us know. It constantly changes and evolves. We just keep plodding along. Happy New Year!
Kudos for a productive year Janie, volunteers and contractors 🎉
Thanks! It was a lot but we had some fun along the way. Let's hope 2025 is the same.
Happy New Year and thanks, thanks, thanks for what you do.

It is truly a labor of love to help preserve this beautiful house. I am thankful to be a part of it and belong to such a great community.
I watch all your videos and really enjoyed keeping up on improvements.
Thank you for watching. We have lots to do in 2025.

@@leaguekempnerhouse Wait a minute - I thought I was the one with the crazy sister!
2025 should be very exciting, things are realy looking good.
There is still so much to do but it is rewarding to see the progress so far. We are excited about 2025, too.
That 2 years went fast for me! It seems like last year that you were filing the paperwork for the nonprofit.
It seems like the blink of an eye. We are starting to get some momentum.

You've earned the right to be biased! Lots of stress and hard work but it sure payed off! Looking forward to growing both in 2025.
You are doing great work! Thank you for the TH-cam videos. It looks so warm , compared to frozen North Dakota, peaks the imagination!

Great video! What about volunteers from a college that are majoring in architechture? They might be able to help out this year.
