I just stumbled on your channel pretty awesome content brother I just subbed, any thing too do with god, diesel, guns and cutlery is my cup of tea awesome vid brother I'll be watchin🇺🇲🙏😎
very nice pickups, I have a drawer full of USA made files, I have spent hours cleaning them, they work so much better than the more modern files. Great choice on the two knives, given the prices you were showing.
I love to hit Relics anytime I need to go to Springfield, They are hit and miss on their knives but once in awhile I hit the jackpot there. 3 months ago I picked up the Schrade Santa 503 new in box for $49 and Jason (Ozark Boy) found the 2004 Schrade 100th anniversary Old Timer new in the box for $39 (he was kind enough to save me a trip to town) .... great video and I do like that small fixed blade it is a Beautiful piece. Take care brother and you have a blessed Christmas season 🙏
I’m from Des Moines IA but we go down to Springfield MO and day trip into Branson for a few days each year. The places that kill my wallet are the ones in Ozark and just outside of Osceola. I know that store. Great content. Stay sharp!
@@dtjarks Yelp I have found some good stuff down in Ozark but prices are out of control down there and everywhere now. Still fun but expensive to manage .
@@georgebramblett6078 yes sir and they will be for sale after the new year. I make knives from Damascus, 1095, 1085, 1075, D1 & D2, 80CVR2, 5160. It’s all coming in the near future with videos that work around that topic. Thanks for watching
There's a function on your cellphone that tells you how ,what, and worth. My brother was buying stuff, making millions and losing money on a regular bases. My wife told him how to do it and he's happy now. No more getting screwed. You have to be able to get google and then take a photo with your phone. Wife says go to google and next to the speaker symbol is a camera symbol and take a pick after you hit the camera, and it should work. Cool feature. Just if you didn't know.
@@WoodsmanHobo777 you maybe right , I think D2 has more Chromium in it and is real close to being in the Stainless Category. If I’m not mistaken is real similar to Japanese AUS-8 steel that a lot of people turn their noses up at. The old files were largely W1 and W2 more than likely . But who really knows, especially now. Files have what ever people want to believe is in it and what ever companies tell it is “ Blended” HC is how a lot of companies like to say. All a person can do is temp one file back an spark check it or cut the tip off and see if it’s been hardened all the way through or just flashed hardened and look to see if it’s powdered mild steel cores in them. Those are the junk China/Mexico and Portuguese made ones. Thanks for taking your time out of your day to watch. Have a blessed one.
Hey buddy there is a company called boggs tool and file sharpening. You can send them off to them to be sharpen and they are better than new. It's not expensive and well worth it. They can do any file or rasp
This is great information. Finding someone or a company that is willing to work on something to restore it’s usefulness is very rare in today’s U. S. A.. The Boggs website price list is reasonable. Thank you Cody for the info. 21:34
With the shows like American Pickers and the Gas Monkey garage and now all the knife hunting TH-cam channels, EVERYONE thinks what they have is gold. Try to find an old car nowadays. Fun to watch those shows but they ruined it for average folks looking for a deal. Just my opinion.
