I have completed every expedition until this one and was afraid I would miss it because work is so crazy. Thanks to you I could knock this out today and my little completionist heart is content knowing I didn't miss the opportunity to complete this one on the first release. Thank you for the guide. It first time I had to look up a guide for the expedition. This is my first expedition I can't stand, it frustrating the heck out of me. I still haven't finished it because I find somethings way too tedious. Not sure I will, no matter how kool the ship looks. Hi Xaine I saw this on Reddit and wondered if you could confirm and if this is the one from the expedition or from the quicksilver merchant or are they the same. {The one you get from the expedition itself is a true keeper. It is NOT a hauler under the hood (even though it's classed as such), and thus, it's worth flying. It's likely a reskinned exotic, based on how well it tunes up (it can break 3200 Manoeuvrability). Do NOT keep any of the custom builds unless it's for giggles or role playing purposes. But do keep the original reward Iron Vulture. Once the expedition goes away, you aren't getting any more.) I haver not claimed mine yet

Hmmm, smeone messed up the first rendezvous point for me and I can not activate the terminal. Guess I'll have to find that fifth ruin elsewhere. Do you happnen to still have the coordinates for that ruin?

My first time through was on the Nintendo Switch, and the derelict freighter I ended up with had quaking sacks of spitting beasties. Ended up dying a couple of times that time. On PS4, and PC, both derelict freighters were of the same type you ran into Xaine.

I am doing these expeditions only now using a mod to unlock them again. Unfortunately, it seems the worlds update has caused the rendezvous systems to change. But even so, I appreciate you putting the coordinates and also showing where each system is relative to the previous one. I was still able to follow most of the guide and get it done, then circle back and do the rendezvous at the end.
I somehow lost my portal and now I can't progress through the expedition, I've found another one but it doesn't count. Any idea how I can find the original portal?
Any tips on how or where to find a sunken freighter? Swimming around in my Nautilon, but the scanner does not show any freighter. Found some crashed on the surface of planes, but no sunken ones.
Staring up at the sky for 60 seconds doesnt work and when im at the first rendezvous i cant access the broken terminal. What am i supposed to do the expedition ends soon

@@pabloincell35 you can do it as many times as you want just not on the same save. Not sure why you would want to though.. Once you’ve completed it you can go on any other or even new save and collect the rewards for each account.
At rendezvous 3 the terminal wont activate for me i have multiplayer off but it seemed to have bugged out do you guys have coordinates for another terminal?
You don’t need the terminal as much as just finding the ruins. Mine did the same thing so I just selected the find ruins milestone and used the beacon to find all of mine.
Well damn. Still waiting on the worlds update for who knows how long it will take and i cant even get an extra day to do the damn expedition. At least give us that hello games. Come on.

Wonderful guide. I always wait for these to drop before I try out the expeditions anymore. I'm currently stuck on the delelict freighter though because there is an x over the white marked doorway after the first major terminal and I'm unable to proceed with it. I'm guessing it is glitched out and I'll have to reload....
I have a similar problem. Can’t open the doors the slime doesn’t seem to register me shooting it. Did reloading help? I was thinking of warping to a different system and trying there but I’m not sure if I’ll still have the scanner in my inventory as I’ve already used it.
@@bigrup I reloaded to my last save before taking off from the planet to start scanning for the freighter. Lost about 20 minutes but it did allow me to go through and complete the whole thing the second time. If I remember correctly there used to be a bug that affected these frieghters like this a lot so I'm guessing it was never fixed or popped back up again.
@@barrywickenheiser thanks for replying. Sometimes TH-cam feels like you are shouting into the void, just like NMS! 😂. So you completed it in the rendevous5 system like the guide? My save is in space after I’ve fired the scanner but there is an earlier restore. Maybe I need to try that one? I’m away this week which is frustrating. Want to get it done!
@@bigrup Yep I did complete it after reloading. I also had a reload from after I activated the scanner but it seemed that after loading that save I never actually could locate a freighter. I was just stuck in a loop of scanning for one for a really long time. Gave up and loaded the save where I was about to head into space before activating it and once I scanned it popped right up for me and I was able to get it completed that time.
Finally got back to my console and yes reloading the restore point on the planet generated a completable derelict freighter. All done now. Thanks Barry and thanks Xaine. Super pleased with the Vulcan and the ghost freighter!
My session ended up glitching and didn't let me grab the cells, sadly. I tried to remedy it by loading the restore point that was created from exiting the ship and then the pedestals were empty. Luckily, I had mined for more materials before that just in case so it wasn't too bad. Just inconvenient.

Great guide as always. I just really hate the coordinates system in this game. You have no visual reference markers unlike what would be in reality. It always feels like I’m flying in circles watching the numbers go up down and all around. There’s not even an audible ping! So frustrating. Every time I had to find a coordinate it added 30-40 minutes to the quest. God I hope they don’t do this in Light No Fire.
I started the current expedition without a main save file, and I'm wondering when I'm done with the current expedition; Can I convert the expedition to a normal save, and make that my main? Or do I have to wait until the whole expedition finishes, and then it'll convert into a normal save? I know you can claim expedition rewards with other saves, but I don't have other saves and I've put quite a lot of time and effort into learning the ropes with my current expedition save. Just wondering if I'm wasting my time if it's all getting deleted etc. Please help.
I was a bit disappointed by this expedition. I love the Hauler you get at the end of it, but it didn't feel as exciting as the previous expedition. I completed it twice. Once on my main save and once on a new save. I had a better time the second time around but I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed this time out. I realise Hello Games are working on another game entirely but it felt like this one needed a bit more. What was nice was that the community provided a number of places to get to the required height for one of the milestones. I did also get a new appreciation for the Nautiloid. I love that Geocraft. What was really uncool was one guy building a structure around a traveller spot at the final waypoint. I had to leave the system and waste another surge battery to find it on a different world. Very uncool.
11:10 the terminal won't let me interact with it and I haven't touched it yet so I can't get the ruin marker what should I do. Save load trick won't work
Thanks again for an awesome guide, just finished it on my Switch. All coordinates matched on there except I couldn’t find the double damaged machinery spawn so the alternative tips helped immensely. Also on Switch the space station for me only had eleven wiring looms so jumped to another for the extra one I needed. Guide was a massive help so thank you!
I'm not sure what an "empty" planet is but i found two planets with synthetic lifeforms in red systems near the final rendezvous. So you don't need the emeril or indium drives
2 leisurely days l8r i finished this expo with your help,although i collected salvaged data along the way for nanites,and found a fellow traveler that had a mold base so that was nice too.

Returning (but still newish) player here and I have a question if anyone can answer. Around 07:19 you mention that we should grab the two warp cells but I am not able to interact with those on the atlas interface
Is Multiplayer switched off right now? Because if it's on then another player could have grabbed both before you got there. Happened to me, felt like a moron afterwards. Not as bad as if I'd visited a ship crash site with Multiplayer on, but still stung a bit.
@@BrianComradovichRadovich I found the issue. I had to progress in the Atlas Path mission on primary save. I am playing the game after a looong time and I straight up went into try the Adrift expedition 😂 I could see both the orbs but couldn't interact with them so completing the Atlas Path mission fixed it. I anyway just took a few extra radiant shards instead of the warp cells to complete Adrift before that 😅
Pro tip: You can use a neutron cannon to harvest the eggs quickly. Just fire a shot at the ground near the eggs and it should break them all open at once... most of the time. Don't hit the eggs directly or they'll get vaporized.
Also another tip for the 1600 unit high milestone. Takes a few minutes but it's fun. If you find a airless planet you can actually just jetpack straight up until it triggers. Again not speedy but fun nonetheless.
So sick of this they basically just added a new way to .ake the grind to complete expedition more annoying thry force us not to have anyolace to sell upgrades for nanites so we cant get our ship or mine tool from our main save while forcing us to constantly jump into annoying asf loadings screens while lockkng the new ship behind it all why do we have to jump so little distance if the loading screens are long asf they literally want me to jump into a loading screen 8 +times just to get to the next part at this point they need to just focus on the game they have in development if these half a## updates are just tedious loading screen with tedious farming over and over again next time just upload a video on how to get nannites early and fast since we all have our fking ships locked behind a 2500 nanite pay wall with no fking way of getting the fking nanites because all the fking npcs are non fking existent

I figured it out. I had to have the mission selected, before using the signal booster.
I just finished adrift, but I’m going to bring my old save to ps5, will I have to redo expedition 13 on my old account I transfer?

What gives? I wasn't allowed an option to copy my ship and lost it. What did I do wrong. The option at the bottom for Xaine wasn't there for me.

You can always build a new signal scanner. Happened to me, too. Left the damn thing on some planet surface behind.

Failed all puzzles so far for ruins
Last day of the expedition, I got to the freighter and couldn't finish cuz the doors glitched and wouldn't open and it was 2 am. So that was fun

My game is way diff after the first warp. Coords dont work. None of the systems have the sane name. Theres no atlast.

I wish I had come here before I spent two weeks trying to figure out this stressful, tedious, and completely unfun chore of an expedition.
So sick of this they basically just added a new way to .ake the grind to complete expedition more annoying thry force us not to have anyolace to sell upgrades for nanites so we cant get our ship or mine tool from our main save while forcing us to constantly jump into annoying asf loadings screens while lockkng the new ship behind it all why do we have to jump so little distance if the loading screens are long asf they literally want me to jump into a loading screen 8 +times just to get to the next part at this point they need to just focus on the game they have in development if these half a## updates are just tedious loading screen with tedious farming over and over again next time just upload a video on how to get nannites early and fast since we all have our fking ships locked behind a 2500 nanite pay wall with no fking way of getting the fking nanites because all the fking npcs are non fking existent
