By the way Kanaju, I had an idea in mind for a possible video you could make: "The things that made it into No man's sky"
Basically a video showing the things that appeared in the original "fake trailers" that later on ACTUALLY made it into the game, like the flying frigates into the atmosphere, or the squadrons, or the in-planet atmosphere pirate and civilians spaceship battles and the factions.
I genuinely think that'll be a very interesting video, showcasing the evolution of the game from a "concept" to reality.

I can confirm that I was asked to join my frigates in a fight against pirates! I had to warp to the system, pulse to their location ( where my 3 frigates were next to a derelict freighter) then defeat a few waves of pirates. It was a fun diversion!

Imagine if one day we can build completely custom ship types where you can mix up type parts and make some wacky junk ships. Btw, great work on the artwork, I love seeing them and helps with the immersion
Yeah new ship class „Junk Ships“
Would be a cool feature exclusive for outlaw stations, maybe give the junk ships some unique skills only they have or maybe even a unique set of new weapons 😊
They changed the stations to match with the rest of the games new aesthetic, right?
The random buildings on planets should be next.

The thing that makes ship hunting better is that if there is a piece you really like, when you scrap a ship you can only use that piece once. If you want to use that piece again you have to go find that ship again and scrap it, or find another ship that has that piece and scrap it again to get that piece back. The only other thing that would make it a little better, is if all player created ships automatically started at class c reactors and maybe you have to open up a certain number of technology slots to move to the next class reactor. That way you have to do more work and have more of an adventure so that you can get your class up for your created ship.

At first I was a bit disappointed the space station interiors weren't procedural and varied as well, but then I realized what a pain in the ass it would be to find things every time.
It might be fun to be able to build solar ships, but yeah, just in outlaw stations. Personallly I'd like if if shuttles could only be built planetside, and sentinel ships (if that would even be a logical feature, which I am very ambivalent about) either in Atlas stations or, probably better, Boundary Failures. And creating a custom Sentinel ship should probably trigger Sentinel aggression. And exotics should not be customizable at all, those ships are and should remain rare nuggets.

The year is now 2032.
Last year we received an update that increased ship slots from 42 to 48.
General opinion was that it was a much needed addition.
This year people are hoping ship slots increase to 60.
@vrabo3026 Do you remember in 2029 when they added the light no fire planet into nms? That was so cool flying to it and being in a whole new game. That year they also released the pilotable freighter and frigates didn't they? And the npc fighting on the ground? So epic joining in with the vykeen against the first spawn. Felt like elites and grunts from halo 7 lol

The new space stations (including the ad boards) look awesome. The ship building is awesome. This update is awesome. 2 weeks into it and being a player that just got back into the game, theres a lot more to do and im here for it.
All i want now is to have more parts for the existing ships. Imagine getting a full update of new parts. Thats my dream.

I was so excited about startship building but then I realised that solars aren't supporrted and that's the only thing I wanted - to have my perfect solar with matching sail colors :C
But nontheless, I'm happy exotics aren't buildable - it's in the name, they're exotic, they should be a rare sight
Sentinles, however, we already take apart and build together again to make sure the pilot is accepted - so I see no reason not to allow people to build a custom one.. Maybe later tho

Great video Kanaju! One thing a lot of people aren't thinking about either is now that we can build our own ships we can essentially customize our entire squadron as well, which is what I'm most excited about! Now let's hope they make squadrons a little more useful :)

Other than the headliner updates, my favorite part of this is that I actually have been able to spend down my money. Now that we can build our own ships, I've been buying every ship with a component I find interesting and scrapping them for a part. Then I just max out the new ships inventory. In a week I think I burned through 1 billion credits and I can finally start creating stasis devices from my farms! It's freeing up so much space on my freighter and replacing them with ship parts I can give to other players!

Since Ship Building is now a thing, I use the subreddit to find ships with the parts I need. So I’m basically ship hunting even more now

I would love the covered up space on space stations to bring back various longues and rooms for NPCs to lurk at, since after the space station update we no longer have the side rooms where NPCs would sit around and some of them would even have special interactions
Though those rooms were made just from clipped in ground buildings, it's still kinda not the same now that they are gone
I hope they update settlements next.
One idea, in the next Expedition maybe they could make the whole thing a quest to assemble some old, ruined ship and at the end of the expedition you get that ship the way you made it with a bunch of upgrades? Oh also JESUS! When I saw this I half expected it to be an April Fools video cuz this just looks like a whole other game! Don’t get me wrong I love it but it’s weird! Also, thank you for the video man!
I think one version of space station interior per race would be really nice. Minimizes the amount but still gives a bit a variety

While I'm glad they got an overhaul after all this time, I'm kinda dissapointed by the station interiors. Mainly the fact that we have all this space inside the station and yet we only see a fraction of it. Giving them more open space with NPC starships landing in them would really add to the ambience and make them feel less confined
I like every update they make, but i would love to see the settlements being expanded 😊The potential here is literally limitless. You could easily (i mean, not in terms of the task being easy, but the amount of content 😅) make a whole new game based only on building and managing the settlements.
I'd also really like the option of changing around the exotic and sentinel ships, as well. I found this super cool sentinel ship, its gold and black with the usual red lights, and i wish i could make or at least find a silver one thats similar!
I've long been an advocate for more settlement features! They're the most procedural points of interest in the game. They should be more important to gameplay! Thanks for commenting.

I really want to build a fighter with a explorer cockpit. Also the weapon update is hard to access in VR.
I just started no man’s guy for the first time last week. At first, I was a little bit worried that I was going to be bored once the thrill of exploring different planets went away. So far, I’m blown away by the amount of content and I’m having a blast.
Orbital is a solid update. I wish we would start getting more explorer focused updates though.

Myself, the one thing I want in No Man’s Sky is more procedural dungeons like the derelict freighters. Desolation is still my absolute favorite content update and I love the bite-sized exploration and looting that the dungeons have. I just wish there were more. Maybe the ancient ruins can be retooled so that instead of a chest, the three ancient keys open a door that lead to a procedural dungeon with the treasure you want being at the end of it. And to get that relic you need to avoid traps, kill infesting wildlife, and loot lesser ancient materials. They already have one procedural dungeon, why not make another type?
Also, more gameplay with Settlements. They feel neglected.

It would be cool if yu are allowed to set up your own shop in one of the X wall stalls at a space station. You set it up, have a vendor manage it, and it gives you resupply missions. The vendor will tell you what is selling hot at that moment and you keep the shop stocked. After everything is sold you get profits from the business and have to renew your lease. Would be cool instead of having an entire space station, in my opinion anyway.

I absolutely love the ads in the space stations, it adds a more lively atmosphere and it kinda ties everything together. Something about the ambient hum of intergalactic ad display panel while you sit your cosmic latte seems like a nice place to listen to this podcast 👀
I really REALLY think the new guild functions make progression through the game sick. Honestly my favorite part of the update.

I hope that ship building gets the means to put in an extra part that will clip through other parts with a cost of reducing the max possible rank. I just want to have the hyperspace ring type wing used in addition with an other wing type parts.

Sometimes it’s the little things! I play on switch, and now when I “add more” to the refiner, I don’t have to search through my entire inventory! Only the item in trying to add will show up! Little things…
One of THE best games of all time for me. Been playing it on and off since launch day. The journey from being stranded on a planet to becoming a Commander of your own capital ship, with a huge fleet of ships is unlike anything else out there, and there is now a RIDICULOUS amount of content in the game. There's never been a better time to play No Man's Sky!
It never felt like a space game ... you're everywhere within the minute 🤷🏻♂️

For years now I’ve kept this one hauler because it has wings I’ve never seen before but had the split cockpit which I hated. I finally got to keep the wings and change the cockpit, so I’m loving it!

Great video, I just started playing this game last week on the psvr2 and it’s one of my favourite games already and I’ve been gaming for the past 30 years , and the game was only 10 pounds to buy, how could you go wrong
One thing missing on space stations, but it would probably be difficult to implement is view areas and outside platforms. That would make the station seem more like a fundamental part of the the system rather that a separate entity or overhead of the system
Be interesting if they linked some of the system exploration or establishing/rebuilding outposts to usable control stations on the space stations!
So far I have had to visit systems to help my frigates, twice. Mostly you just decide what they should do occasionally
I am enjoying the update playing it on my permadeath run and I know pirate stations are relatively new I would love to see them get this quality for their respective stations.
Those signs are one of my favorite part of this update especially as a builder, I overuse them often!

I am a switch player and I still can't believe this game even runs on switch so, hello games, take your time, no worry
for orbital gameplay wise it was less then some other updates, mostly is patch fixes, skins and few area changes. main content was space station rework with ship crafting. overall it is a pretty good update.
New switch user here. I played the update yesterday (Sunday 7th April) and apart from the fact I lost out temporarily (my base is in a Korvax system. I had my science officer and overseer. But I had stopped for a break, had not grabbed my security officer. Couldn't find them after the update lol. Had to stumble into another system to find them finally)
How about if you needed to already have found the exotic ship type, before you could use those parts to build a new ship with?
The X wall Cubby's look like 'futureproofing' to me. Making sure there is room for anything else they want to add.
Got sidetracked lol.
Apart from that staff issue, I've not had any problems with the orbital update.
Also, those adds were one of the first things I saw, by the way. That purple one stood out very well, I had that blue glados style station.
I wish I could express to my friends and brothers how good this game really is. Its one game in existence that I could consider to be the only game Id ever play again given that circumstance. Like, if I’m trapped on a deserted island with a PlayStation, tv and one game, it’d be this.
Switch ( U.S.) has had the update for a couple days now. I'm excited to get solars and shuttles in the ship crafting.
I like your idea of solar ships, only available to be built in the pirate/outlaw stations.
First of all, great job for those ads. You did a great job on those.
Second of all, this may be speculating, but I would like to see the ability to destroy space stations (maybe with your freighter) and get special/unique space parts. Maybe procedural guilds, or something like a lawful, normal, and unlawful guild per race. About the solar yards/part in the outlaw space station, I would like if SOME outlaw stations and abandoned space stations got updated to the new space stations. Also if being able to destroy space stations goes into the game, I would to see, if after a while, an infestation comes up. And if you can blow the space stations up, the outer parts can function as a shield. Those are some of the ideas, but I don't want to be understood (forgot the proper word) that I expect all of it from Hello Games. I let my imagination go wild and expect none of it to go into the game. They are working on this game plus another game. I bet they are a wonderful team to know in person and very hardworking.
Third of all, I have been playing Terraria (plus the Calamity mod). A lot of people call it 2D Minecraft. Minecraft is a 3D creativity based game. Terraria is a 2D battle/progression based game where you fight the evil biome (Corruption/Crimson), the Hallow, the Mech bosses, and the Wall of Flesh. Sorry, I had to channel that somewhere.

I picked up a series X for starfeild didn't even take it out of the case when I found out you couldn't fly from planet to planet... Picked this up instead and I'm so glad i did this game is absolutely amazing best exploration game ever!!
I need to actually start playing .I went thru the tutorial but have been meaning to play . Now that I have more free time since finishing other games now might be the timd
they should let people upload wonder holograms from that system - to fit into those unused spaces in the new space stations - like each station that has been visited, the player can leave the wonders they discovered during their time in there - and when a player visits a space station, they can check the wonders that other players uploaded there to see if there's anything they wanna go check out in-person
Nice update, despite they have been very preservative on expanding new ship parts, new items and base building parts. The ship hunting aspect has moved into hunting nice stats and nicely grouped technology slots depending on the part combo.
I’m so happy I can get the frigate modules and starship modules from the envoys! It’s so much easier than struggling to get them one by one
As someone who is literally that high level player that gifts new players items worth 160M I appreciate seeing the game still breathe life. I bought the game when it first came out and have been on and off it since traveling around the bounds of the galaxy.
This game somehow remenbers me alot the Works of Alejandro Jodorowsky on sci-fi comics (incal and metabarons)

If I need to recruit a scientist for my science terminal where can I find one at space stations now? I kinda miss having those back rooms in the side of the space stations where they had those NPC's you could recruit for various things. Please help!! Thanks !!
How neat would it be if a group/guild/coalition/etc... could register and "lease" a storefront in a space station in a system they occupy. Maybe there is a mechanic for paying the lease and the player/team could stock it with resources or even higher level crafting products at a discount to do something with all that excess? Heck, what about a pet store where you could offer interesting/rare companions?

Gek stations could have more non-combat traders, V’ykeen more combat traders and Korvax maybe could have multiple guilds or something.
The switch version has recieve the update and i been saving my ship before salvaging :D also the benefit about the switch delay is that they usually fixes the bug by the time they release it to us so its kinda a win win
After i updated to orbit i sold something for nanit and got the max amount of nanit so yeah it's pretty good
I'd like to see other ship types buildable on only a very few stations. I'd like to see a new POI for a shipyard, much like Derilect freighter source signals where you can commission one of many preloaded ships, including exotics.
